When i started up my computer.. before getting to my login screen on windows 10.. both of my screens(i have 2 hooked up) started to flash black and white with what appeared to be colored dots... i had to force a shut down 2 times before it actually booted up normal.

View 1 RepliesFor the last 3 weeks anytime I "restart" my hp 32 bit pc it takes 6 minutes and all the while the screen is black with a small blinking light in the upper left corner everything is fine after it finally restarts and if I shut it down and start it back it starts normally and in the morning when I first start it up it starts normally it just happens any time I restart it for any reason.
View 7 RepliesI recently upgraded to window 10 from window 7 with iso file. I didn't had internet access then, but my window run successfully. Later, when i tried to attach another display with Laptop it did not detect it. So, i installed the windows updates. But after installing i was unable to boot into windows. A black screen with blinking cursor appears right after the Dell Logo. I am only able to go into bios setup by pressing F2, no safe mode option. I tried making a bootable Pen drive for repair but even it wasn't detected. I already change the boot priority in bios menu. Therefore i am unable to fresh install the window as laptop cd drive is not functioning from quite some time.

So I upgraded W7 to W10 via iso. Install made it all the way.
On reboot it's now suck on the black background, windows logo and spinning dots.
My Windows 10 PC seems to be working OK but I notice that between the Windows 10 splash screen and the user sign on page there's a period of time when the screen simply goes black. The system does get to the sign on page but black screens freak me out a bit...
Also when I log off I'm seeing the same thing. With Windows 10 when I shut down there's a brief period when the screen is simply black and I'm now having to rely on the sound of my machine turning off vs. the visual queues that I had under Windows 7.
I recently built a computer and am having a few issues. The most recent problems (BSODs - MEMORY_MODULE, IRQL) came while watching videos through Pot Player, which I had just installed.
While not a BSOD, my computer monitor has gone black a number of times while playing even low-intensity games. The computer itself stays on, but my only choice is to reboot. I have monitored temperatures of both the CPU and GPU, and they both stay fairly low (CPU- 35-40C, GPU 45C). I am not OCing. For reference, my outputs are HDMI to monitor, DisplayPort to A/V Receiver, and optical to receiver.
I believe I have the latest BIOS firmware, graphics drivers, etc. I ran 2 passes of memtest without error. I'm worried that there might be a hardware issue, but I don't know where to start.

My PC has been acting up for about a week now. I have 2 Samsung 24inch Monitors and a decent gaming PC. I have tried all the options this forums has brought to me such as control alt delete and recovery mode, nothing has worked so far. I have just upgraded from 7-10 and it just wont start up without booting to that black screen.

View 9 RepliesThis is weird. I rebooted and the windows logo showed up but then it went to a flashing black and white screen. I rebooted a few times and the same thing.
Then I tried F8 while booting (thinking that would get me to safe mode) and it booted fine. BUT, it didn't look like it went to safe mode (not sure if it is obvious in Win10 since I haven't booted to safe mode yet). I rebooted a few more times and all OK.
Recently I've started to encounter an error when booting my computer, occasionally it would boot to a weird flashing white and black screen. An example of this can be seen here: [URL]....
This occurs just before the login screen. While this happens, my cursor is still visible, though larger than normal. After a while, the flashing stops and the screen stays black, usually before this I would force restart my PC then it would boot fine.

I've done a clean install of Win 10. Games that work perfectly on Win 7 64 bit are crashing consistently on Win 10 Pro 64 bit. I was a system builder for 15 years, but I don't know much about Win 10, and am no expert on advanced trouble shooting.
It only crashes in games. I only play driving games/simulators (Project Cars, Driver SF, Burnout Paradise, and several Need for Speed games). It crashes on every one of them. When it crashes, it's 5-10 mins into game, crashes to white or black screen with no sound. The system does not reboot (even when set to reboot on errors). It simply hangs with a white or black screen and no sound. Keyboard strokes no longer work either.
The only thing showing in event viewer is error 41 kernel power (63), which is obviously when I'm manually restarting by holding power or reset buttons.
System is not overclocked other than I like to run my video card fans at 70% with MSI Afterburner (crashed before and after I installed Afterburner)
System is dust free and has good air flow.
I've got several monitoring devices, doesn't appear to be a heat issue with CPU (55C-60C at crash) and video card (57-58C at crash)
Ran MemTest over night, no errors
Ran Prime95 over night, no errors
Ran Heaven Benchmark overnight, no errors
Ran Seatools long test on all hard drives, no errors
Have latest MB drivers and BIOS
Page file is set to physical memory x1.5 and resides on C: with OS.
I've tried complete memory dump, small memory dump, and automatic memory dump - all set to overwrite existing - it never saves a dmp file Ctrl/Alt/Del does nothing
I've gone from a Belkin surge protector and straight to the wall power - no difference.
Tried many different drivers for my video card. I completely remove with DDU in safe mode before installing different ones. Older (14.9, 14.8, 14.12, 13.9, and 13.12) drivers do not stop fans and vary between black and white screens at crash - but the latest Crimson (15.201, 15.3, and 16.1.1 Beta) drivers stop the fans during crash like the PCI-E slot has stopped working completely (this seems to be the key to the problem, but I'm lost as to what it might be) .

Graphics: AMD Radeon 7850 OC (300MHz/1200MHz) (onboard Intel controller disabled and drivers uninstalled)

I have a backup image of Win 7, and everything still works correctly on it. If not for that, I'd think it was the MB PCI-E slot. That, and the tests on hardware seem to imply that it's not a hardware problem.
while playing video (using any software media player, movies & tv, internet explorer youtube, google chrome youtube, vlan), all other inactive windows (any other windows) turn blank and white. I have updated video drivers, did not make a difference. I have then uninstalled all video card driver and used only default windows drivers, played video with same result. Therefore, I am sure it is windows. Tonight while trying to watch the bowl games, I typically watch video and browse/study using IE/Chrome. This is pretty typical for me, but the browser windows turning black and white is getting really annoying.

View 1 RepliesMuch as I like the new windows 10, I find if I have a few windows open and overlapped then it's far to easy to close the wrong window. And the reason is that the whole washed out white and no window borders mean one window looks like it's another window when overlapped.
What would be great is if I could get a blue (or whatever) border back on the window so that it'a much easier to see which window is which. Is it possible without any third party stuff?

View 3 RepliesWith the new Windows 10 November update it is now possible to change the color of the window title bar. But sadly this only works for the window that is in front and the background windows are still all white. I often click on the wrong spot when i want to move a window in the background and i want to know if there is a way to color all window title bars and not only the one in front. I know there is a way but that requires some modifying from a theme which i dont want. I would like to change it with windows settings if thats possible so there wont be a windows update that changes it again.

View 2 RepliesThis morning Microsoft sent that new "Service Pack" update out to my PC running Windows 10 Pro and now the mod used to make the windows title bar color change to anything than the white crap Microsoft uses will no longer work. I have tried twice to apply the color theme I had used before the update to make them colored again and it doesn't work. I even removed the mod and re did all the steps to make a new theme and still it doesn't work.

View 1 RepliesSo my pc was working fine I have Windows 10 pro then I was having issues with the xbox app and party connectivity so I looked it up found that if I uninstalled the teredo tunneling and reinstalled it, it was a possible fix so I did it and then windows would not load after that I see the initial blue windows sign on start then when it would normally take me to sign in it just has the spinning dots and I waited but after about an hour I just gave up and restarted a few times and tried numerous things it can launch fine in safe mode...
View 9 RepliesI have win 10 x64 on a Dell XPS 8700. It had Win 8.1. Been on Win 10 since release. Today my son went to reboot the computer and at boot, just got spinning dots. He turned it off, same thing. Got to a diagnostic and it said it could not repair. So I decided to use Acronis 2016 to restore the weekly image from Sunday. Acronis said restore was successful, but same thing, Just spinning dots under the dell logo.
