View 1 Repliesafter installing windows 10, a blue circle next to the arrow cursor continues to flash after logging in. the keyboard seems to be affected because sometimes a key has to be struck several times for the computer to recognize it.
View 4 Replies I have downloaded and successful installed Windows 10 on one of my two computers. When I downloaded to second computer it hung on the installation re-boot. Now machine will only display BIOS splash screen and then shows a black screen with a single fast flashing cursor.
I tried putting the original Windows 7 install disk in the DVD but could not boot that way either. I can not get in contact with Windows support in Australia and have not been able to find an email address.
PC froze and wouldn't ctrl-alt-del, so I turned it off from the power supply, and when I turned it back on, I get a black screen with flashing cursor just after the BIOS splash and just before the Windows symbol would normally appear. I've used a recovery usb - refresh, automatic repair, and system restore do not work, and I can't continue booting with the usb, can't get to safe mode.
I had a spare SSD, so installed 8.1 on it and used it to boot the PC, then attached the drive that wouldn't boot as a secondary drive. All of my files/programs appear to be there on the faulty drive, but for whatever reason the Windows 10 installed on it will not boot.
I'm sure the easiest option would be to wipe the trouble drive and reinstall Windows, but there are several work programs that would be a pain to go back and reinstall (would have to call in the vendor). Since the drive itself seems to be working, could I create a new partition and reinstall Windows to it, then uninstall the corrupted version?
My computer has always been fine, until one day i was getting pop ups and redirected randomly, i notice a strange file called "techsmart computer" and was trying to delete it but couldn't so i wanted to go into safe mode and forcibly remove it, i open the start up menu simply check safe mode only and restarted, ever since all i see is the black screen with it loading with nothing else no repair, error message just it loading then it goes to the login screen the blue one and for some strange reason it is flickering as it its turning on/off and its a never ending load! if i press the power button its shutting down and it stops flickering, i searched online for solutions and nothing relevant and of the possible solutions i cant do because i can never get into the login screen, this is not a instillation issue or driver or graphics card, etc... started ever since i checked the safe mode, i want to mention i'm writing this using a different computer, also don't know if its a 32 or 64 bit.

View 4 RepliesWe have received two systems both AMD units which recently (last 2-3 days) had completed updates then refused to start afterwards. I cannot roll back or do a system restore. I could refresh the system i guess, or reset. But i would like to solve the issue at hand. Now unfortunately one customers was in a hurry so i had to reset the unit and send it back out the door. So i currently only have 1 system with the same symptoms at the moment. Unit has 8GB Ram, AMD FM2 cpu, 500gb hdd. Was originally running Windows 7 Home Premium but was upgraded to 10 by the customer and reportedly running fine. Both units apparently had done updates a few nights ago and now refuse to boot. The screen is blank and the cursor flashes from standard cursor to busy symbol. I left it for over 5 hours and nothing happened although the drive is blinking away. Hopefully i was looking for some input on manually finding and removing an update from the Windows recovery environment on the Win 10 Boot disk using cmd possibly. Oh and I'm currently running a chkdsk /f /r on the OS drive.
View 9 RepliesSo I just recently updated to Windows 10 on Sunday and now the little blue busy circle is constantly flashing. I have already tried restarting, checked for updates on drivers and nothing is working .
View 4 RepliesI built a computer a few months ago using:
A Gigabyte Z97X Gaming G1 Motherboard
An Intel i7 4790K CPU
16 GB DDR4 Patriot Memory sticks
Samsung EVO 240GB SSD
Nvidia 256 GB Graphics card
Corsair CX750 Power supply
I immediately bought Windows 10 for it, and for the most part the computer worked fine the last few months. Every once in a while I would get a "Driver Stopped Working but has Recovered" that messed up the Windows control bar and required a restart to fix, but that stopped happening eventually with updates. I still got BSoD's from time to time, including "faulty hardware corrupted page."
Today I got a BSoD when I was logging in called "DPC Watchdog Violation," which I had seen before I think so I figured it would just restart and be fine. However, now I cannot restart the computer, because after the Gigabyte motherboard logo, all I get is a blue screen that flashes on and off quickly. It is just a blue screen, sometimes with a dot in the middle. No matter what I cannot get past this infinite flashing screen, even in safe mode. Commands from the keyboard do nothing once I reach this screen although I can the mouse around. I can enter the special Windows control menu before getting to the flashing blue screen, but nothing has worked from there
Things I've tried:
-Disabling restart after BSoD -- no effect
-Restoring system image -- error, then no effect
-Resetting Windows -- no effect (although I've lost all my applications now)
-Removing my graphics card and plugging my monitor directly into the motherboard -- no effect
-Updating BIOS -- no effect
Currently trying to figure out something I can do in the registry. My last option is completely redownloading Windows 10 without saving files, but I'm not confident that will work given everything else I've tried.
I know there is others who have this issue of the flashing blue working circle next to the mouse pointer on the screen. I have read through he forums and tried what I could find but so far no luck getting rid of it.
I upgraded from Windows 7 to 10 - on my Asus sonicmaster laptop and now the flashing blue circle constantly shows up in and on and off state. Like it is trying to load or check something. How to get rid of this?
I have this constant loading going on somewhere in my computer. it interferes with my games or if I put anything to full screen it automatically pulls it out of full screen and minimizes it. It also interferes with my typing. If I'm trying to type in an address to go to a website the flashing loading will make it so I have to keep clicking in the address bar to finish typing out the address. auto saved usernames are also an issue. where I'll type the first three letters of my username. It will pull up then immediately disappear. I have to be really fast to click it or result to the constant clicking of the username bar to put my username in.
Also an issue with right clicking anything. the right click "open, delete, new folder, etc" will come up and before I can move to click what I want it disappears. I restarted my computer and it went away once. I thought the issue was resolved and paid no attention to it. I then turned my computer off and back on after a virus scan and the problem persists again. I tried turning the computer off and on again but again the problem continues. how I can find whats constantly loading/causing the flashing loading icon next to my mouse?
I upgraded from Windows 8 to 10 without a hitch an hour ago and kept all of my personal files and apps. I set up my start menu and everything was working fine, but I wanted to change the image on the logon screen (or whatever you call the screen in between the lock screen and the screen where you enter your PIN/info). So I took a risk and downloaded the 3rd party app here:
[URL] and uploaded an image and hit apply. Of course right after doing that I went to lock my PC to see if it worked, and as you can tell... it didn't.
I've tried rebooting and it hasn't worked. It's just very rapidly flashing between a blue screen w/ a loading circle and my lock screen image.
Just plugged an old ps2 trackball mouse into my laptop running win 10 64bit, and the scroll wheel won't work. Default MS driver shows no options for scroll. It's some old HP POS. CP-15K. Didn't think it would be so hard to find a ps2 mouse (with scroll wheel) driver.
View 9 RepliesLately mouse wheel has not been working. When I press the middle mouse button, the wheel appears for just a little bit, and then disappears. I can't use it to scroll.
View 9 RepliesUpdate stuck on spinning wheel following download of drivers etc and after copying files. Black screen with blue logo and continuos spinning wheel.
View 9 RepliesStart menu doesn't scroll with mouse wheel.
View 7 RepliesWe have Windows 10 set up on our PC, and the mouse scroll wheel used to work as it should on both mine and my wife's accounts. Lately on my wife's account, the mouse scroll wheel won't work at all, both in windows applications as well as web pages.
what would cause my mouse to all of a sudden work for one user profile but not for another?
I have a custom built dual boot Win 7 64 bit OS. I got notified about upgrade availability and upgraded successfully with a minor glitch. (The monitor display went off with frequency mismatch. While I was searching the machine restarted automatically and voilla win 10 was up). It did few more restarts and I configured Kaspersky also to work. Overall it was working fine and restarts after enabling Kaspersky was successful.
However for the first time, I did shut down and system never came up. Its stuck in a grey screen of spinning wheel (GSOD? Grey Screen of Death).
Unfortunately I didnt create a recovery disk and now I can't do any action.
What I have tried
a. CTRL+ALT+DEL button works only once.. It shows 3 icons, wifi connectivity (connected to my network), accessibility option and restart option.
I have tried Shift + Restart - but no luck in bringing Safe mode..
So the only option for me is to either shut/ sleep or restart. I have tried all 3 - but always comes back to GSOD
b. Starting in Go Safe mode - I have read "tutorial" on Win 10 Go Safe mode.. None of the different options work for me as I can't see any display. I have tried using Shift + Restart but no difference.
c. I found other option is to have recovery disk. Unfortunately I didn't create one. I have seen the tutorial on "recovery drive".
What can I do?
a. Should i download win 10 ISO and try to boot?
b. Can I create a recovery disk from Win 10 preview PC ( 64 bit - from a friends pc)
I cannot explain exactly the problem so i made a video.. here : [URL] .... I tried disabling the 2 services from msconfig..but no luck..
View 3 RepliesI'm unable to do anything. During the download, everything seemed fine. It started to install apps. It then said "This is taking longer then usual, it should finish soon". I stepped out for about 10 minutes, came back and desktop was flashing with no icons. I'm unable to do anything.
View 9 RepliesI was having difficulty with flashing and went into safe mode to try to figure out which program was causing it but now whenever I reboot I am still in Safe Mode.
View 8 RepliesI am running windows 8.1 and upgrade to windows 10. Install went fine but after final reboot I'm left with a flashing screen. when I turn off the laptop and reboot I get the login window I login to windows and the screen continues to flash, I cant access the start menu. how do I uninstall windows 10 and start again.?
View 3 RepliesI just installed windows 10. No problems installing or logging on. However, after logging on, the desktop keeps flashing and I cant click on any icons. The only thing I can do is use CTRL + ALT + DEL.
I've noticed similar posts saying the same thing that they have NORTON INTERNET Security installed which I have.
Upgraded window 10 from Window 7,now all the screen does is flash can't go online to change back to window 7...
View 1 RepliesI have been having some issues browsing the web recently on my computer. I'll be looking at a website and scroll down and the website starts to flash white and whatever was there before about 3-5 times, very fast, before returning to the top of the webpage.
I haven't noticed any patterns in it's behavior, it can happen on all sites but doesn't happen 100% of the time. I tried using my other monitor (in case that it was bugging) and tried replacing the mouse (it happens when I scroll) but no luck with either. I wasn't sure whether to put this in Windows 10 or networking.
I installed windows 10 on my machine last week which went fine with no errors. Since then, I have come into work everyday and found the computer idling at the login screen, flashing and not responding. Just a constant flashing until I turn it off. Because of this I've had to reset windows under the troubleshoot option on start up. Safe mode doesn't work, and back up restore doesn't either. I wanted to add that I don't receive an error code or message.
