Bluetooth Headsets Not Listed In Audio Inputs / Outputs
Oct 21, 2015
I have a few bluetooth headsets (the little mono in-ear ones) that I used with Win7 for Skype calls. Now I have Win10 & went to use one for the first time today. The device is found, added, & connected OK, but the only 'Service' available is 'Handsfree telephony'. There was another one under Win7, 'Headset' I think.
None of them show up in as an input or output in Skype options, nor are they listed under 'Audio Inputs and Outputs' in device manager.
The devices themselves haven't changed their capabilities, so is Win10 using some generic BT headset driver that doesn't provide the audio service? Is there some way of switching it on?
I have a scanner radio that I input to the desktop pc via a USB Port. Then the pc outputs it on the Green audio jack to a pair of desktop speakers. Works fine.
Now let's say I have another radio output which is inputted to the pc via the pc Line In Audio jack (Blue).
How can I switch between them to the speakers ? Both come up on the Speaker Icon in the bottom task tray as being enabled, but not sure how to switch which one (only) actually goes to the desktop speakers (if both radios are working).
I'm having a problem with the HDMI audio when switching inputs on my monitor. With my last OS i was able to switch between the HDMI inputs and both devices would have audio. Now, PC only has audio when the computer is started up, but when inputs are switched and switched back, i no longer have PC audio.
I just recently purchase a newish laptop recently off eBay. Its a HP ProBook 6470b, it didn't came with a hard drive so I pulled the SSD out of my old Dell 1545 which has windows 10 preinstalled. Long story short when I listen to music over Bluetooth to my stereo, the sound become very choppy and distorted. Specially if I do some typing, extreme processing or moving the trackpad it becomes really bad. If I don't type, move my mouse or have it idle on the music player its fine (most of the time).
I should mention at this present moment I don't have a hard disk caddy since I didn't come with one and I'm waiting it to arrive from Malaysia (so I'm just curious if that could be a culprit). I have tried different Bluetooth speakers and the same problem persists. I have tried my macbook, android tablet, surface and phone with the same reciever and it play musics without any problem whatsoever. I have tried updating, uninstalling and installing drivers and hasn't made that many difference (although disabling the Microsoft UE LE Eliminator useful somewhat). The driver is a broadcomm 20702 Bluetooth 4.0 adapter.
I have disable any enhancement in the sound settings and gone to devices and printer and disable any unnecessary services that is used by my bluetooth receiver but the problem is still present.
So I'm trying to get an external microphone (on a headset) working on my recently bought HP laptop (it's the Star Wars LE here), last night I was testing my headset but there is a really loud buzzing sound even when there's absolutely no interference in the room.
I've tried updating all drivers and even went and bought a new headset today for $40, so its definitely not the headset. In control panel I don't have Realtek Audio Manager (I did on my old laptop), but I have this "B & O Play" software which is a basic alternative. I've tried messing with those settings to no avail.
My older headset is one which has green and pink jacks, so I have a splitter for those, but my new headset has a combo jack so it connects directly.
Here's the weird part though, control panel > sound, whenever I talk into the mic on the headset, it actually comes through the "headphones" under sound:
But in recording, the microphone (which is seems to come through) doesn't have any kind of noise level, but if I disable it, the mic on the headset stops.
(The other mic available is the built in one for the camera).
There are certain sound inputs that I do not wish to use.So, I disable them. However, when I reboot my computer all of them are active again. How can I make them permanently inactive?
I have been using BitLocker for a long time now and in conjunction with Windows 10 for 3 months and today something weird happened. When I tried to insert my password at boot, when I pressed the Shift key in combination with any other key, it inserted tens of characters at once. Valid with any character I press while Shift is also pressed. I tried a different keyboard, same result. I removed Bitlocker and reinstalled it, same result. Reboots, etc. I tried it all.
Now the only way to input the password is to press Insert so I can see the characters, press CapsLock for the capital letters and delete all the additional 30+ characters that appear when shift is pressed.
My PC is the HP ENVY TouchSmart M7-J120DX with Beats Audio quad speakers and two subwoofers. After running a clean installation of Windows 10, my volume icon had an error "no audio device output" / IDT High Definition Audio Codec. The troubleshooting option did nothing. I uninstalled my audio device, and restarted my pc. My sound is back, but it seems that the middle speakers are the only ones working. My volume icon and sound device now is labeled "High Definition Audio Device" which now sounds substandard, just like those cheap tinny speakers you can find at the dollar store. How to recover my original great-sounding original speakers!
My pc is seeing my ram as ''other'' not DDR3 is that normal? Also the speed is displayed as 667 mhz. The Ram itself is 1600Mhz and my motherboard supports up to 2100mhz, Is it running at 1600 Mhz? Build 10240
Since upgrading from 7, none of my hard drives are listed. The entire category is missing, all I see are Folders. The drives are there and accessible if I explicitly navigate to them, such as "C:", in which case my path becomes: > This PC >SYSTEM (C:), and I can explore the drive. They are all properly listed in Disk Management, where I can choose to open an explorer folder on them. The ones configured as shared still appear on the network. But none of several internal and external drives are listed in This PC.
So I installed windows 10 and everything was fine until recently when my computer suddenly disconnected from the wifi network in my house. I've tried everything and nothing working, i even tried using the the Ethernet cable and it worked but as soon as I disconnect the cable it'll have no wifi access. It's not my wifi or router because My phone and other things connect and work fine. My network just won't show up on the list.
Upgraded to Windows 10. I don't know what he did, but at the sign in screen, it has a yahoo account that does not exist. I tried resetting the info for that yahoo account but it says the account doesn't exist. He does know his correct yahoo account which is apparently linked to his MS account. I can't seem to find out how to remove the non-existent login account in order to get him signed in with his actual account. Everything I'm seeing involves ISO's, CD's, or bootable recovery drives none of which he would have. Is there a way to correct his sign in account considering we're unable to log into Windows to begin with because it's asking him to sign into an account he doesn't have?
In my device manager my canon printer is listed under Disk drives, USB connection?? Its also listed correctly under printers too. Should I remove it from being listed under disk drives?? or leave it alone?
Upon starting windows (10) I'm constantly being shown the boot manager and the only OS I can choose from is windows 7. I am using W10 having upgraded from W7. Windows still boots but the startup times vary from 15sec to around 3min.
Here is a screenshot of my boot tab in msconfig and a screenshot of mt disc management screen.
When I download a pdf file (A billing statement in this case), I would like to select "Save As" and be able to select the folder directly from one of the folders shown in Quick Access that is shown in File Explorer without having to rummage through all the folders on my three drives. Right now, "Save As" causes the folder selection to start with My PC. Is there an easy way for the list of folders in Quick Access to be displayed when I select "Save As" to save the file? Starting in My PC makes me go through the mess of finding the folder in which I want to save the file.
I installed the Microsoft Solitaire Collection but it does not appear in the All Apps listing. I went to reinstall it but it says it is already installed. How can I open it or is there a way to uninstall and reinstall it?
I just wonder why some of my apps are not listed there?! I also tried "apps and features" from settings and still some of my installed software don't show up there either!
Even tried with 3rd party uninstaller program (Revo) and still no trace of these installed software!
Recently while using the internet my computer experienced a BSOD which listed the Critical Process Died as the error. Before this happened my computer kept popping up with a message I believe was saying that the display adapter driver crashed and then was recovered. It should also be mentioned that I recently upgraded my system with a new graphics card, after my old one died, and with a new case. That was my first time ever doing something like that, so I wouldn't be surprised if that could be a problem.
I have an Acer Aspire E1-572 running Windows 10. The computer has an Elan smart pad drivers. I recently updated to windows 10 but after it was installed, my touchpad settings changed. I tried to change the settings to how they were before, now i can no longer adjust the sensativity or have the inertia " momentum" settings enabled. Those are no longer options listed on the driver settings.
I am disabled with limited mobiity and I rely on the ability to flick the mouse and have the cursor travel across the screen. Without these settings I am struggling to use the computer.
I can neither uninstall nor disable Cortana. If I end task in task manager it turns itself right back on.
It is not listed in the programs folder. I have even tried disabling services associated with Cortana and they come right back on.
I really do not want this thing. Sometimes I find it running using 50% cpu. What is it doing. I do not have the resources to waste on a program I do not want or need.
After having upgraded to windows 10 on my Asus U46E laptop, my fresco logic 3,0 usb port no longer works and in fact is no longer listed in device manager...it is gone. I have tried going onto the Asus website, uninstalling all my usb ports, then reinstalling them and same result....no more 3.0 port.
I don't know if this started since Windows 10, but I use headphones for PC sound and if I go outside to smoke a cigarette or something I take my headphones with me so I can listen to music from my phone. When I come back and replug my headphones into my PC, audio no longer works in games, FL studio, YouTube videos, etc. Until I restart the entire program. Systemsounds work fine after replugging but audio in anything other than Windows don't
When I open File Explorer there are a number of items listed in the left pane. Is there a way to remove some of them that I do not use like Videos and Music? Also at the bottom, after Network is Homegroup. I do not use Homegroup. Can I delete it from this list? I have other computers that do not list Homegroup so why does this one list it?
