Last night I was trying to watch some good ole' dragon ball z. When this site gave me a virus. I tried system restore and was denied. So I hard reset my PC which I just upgraded from 7 to 10.
The reset was stuck at 50% for about an hour so I turned off my PC and flipped it back on to see if it'd retry the installation.
To my surprise I'm stuck in this loop where my computer shows the boot up dell xps screen and then restarts. F8, F9, F11. NOTHING WORKS. I can't get to any recovery screen like I could with Windows 7. I don't have a disk because it was of course the free upgrade on July, 29th. Also can't burn one due to not being able to get to my Desktop.
On start up I get the computer needs to restart and then goes into the loop of restarting from a blue screen, I can get F2 which is the Bios screen but thats all, I can see reboot on this but do not have anything to reboot with as I upgraded from win 7.
Last night I was watching a dvd on my desktop when all of a sudden a blue screen came up with a frowning face and said that "Your computer ran into a problem and needs to restart, its collecting info and will restart." It happened quickly so I didn't see what the error was but now my PC is stuck in a loop where it restarts and loads into an empty blue screen. It stays on that blue screen for a minute or so and then restarts again. I tried going into my BIOS or starting in safe mode but my PC won't go into them.
I woke up this morning to a constant boot loop into blue screen that gives me a memory_management blue screen error and restarts then occasionally gives me a driver_corrupted_expool blue screen.
It tries to start up automatic system repair which fails and works very rarely. Once i am in the system repair screen i try the startup repair and it just doesn't do anything and redirects me back to the blue screen boot loop. I had restarted my PC this morning after it was working and then it just randomly started doing this boot loop.
I need fixing my issue with a bootable USB program i can use to fix the drivers or something. I need every other option other than reinstalling windows because i have tons of files i need on here.
so I recently did a clean install of Windows 10 on my laptop which I bought in 2011 with Windows 7 originally on it. The install worked perfectly fine and the OS works great except for one thing. When I select the restart option, the computer restarts and shows the Windows boot logo but then after that I just get a black screen. At that point, if I press the power button to put the computer in sleep mode and then press it again to take it out of sleep mode, the login screen appears. When I choose to shutdown and do a cold boot, everything's boots up fine. I do not have the computer connected to another video output source when restarting so it should know to project onto my laptop screen. All of my drivers (including graphics) are up to date as well as all Windows updates.
So every since wednesday i updated my windows (automatically when shutdown) and when i turn the pc back on it goes into repair and will keep restarting and repairing... I have to keep restoring to be able to even use the pc but windows needs updating and will keep doing this everytime, resorting in me having to restore AGAIN! This also happens when i try to upgrade to windows 10 .
I was fresh reinstalling my windows 10 onto my HDD as I encountered an error preventing me from booting the computer up, in the end I found it was my new GPU causing this error (a dead GPU?). So now my computer shows an error message: "The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an error during installation of windows". I looked this error up and it told me to press shift f10 to open a console and to type regedit in and to find status on local machine, changing the number from 1 to 3. I did this supposed fix, however, now my computer is in a infinite restart loop, displaying the windows 10 installation at 64% and then restarting again...?
When I got on my computer this morning, I was notified of updates. I used the restart button on the notification page thinking this would start downloading the updates. However, the computer has been stuck in Restart for 3 hours. Microsoft... can you access my IP and stop this loop? Is there anything I can do to stop this loop?
Just downloaded the newest update for Windows 10, I was asked to restart my PC to install it, that was over 30 minutes ago, since then my PC reaches the Microsoft logo and under it, it says Preparing Automatic Repair and then it restarts and does that all over again, what am I suppose to do? I can't even get past it.
I finally decided to upgrade to Windows 10 yesterday (1/17/2016). It downloaded roughly 5.76 GB into a hidden folder : "C:$Windows.~BT"
Then it prompted me to restart my computer, so I did. Once restarted, nothing changed.
So I went into Windows Update, and it just tells me: "Restart your computer to install important updates" and it has a "Restart now" button. I've restarted roughly 40 times or so in the last 2 days after trying various fixes, and it doesn't make a difference.
I checked the update history, and there are a whole bunch of Pending and Successful updates with a "Date Installed" date of 1/15/2016. Nothing more recent either.
I've been experiencing startup issues with my PC since last night. I go to startup and startup freezes. It seems that something is either stuck or freezing up on loading. Since it doesn't fully boot up, I have been hitting the reset button or holding the power button. It appears that this has made the problem worse. I went to startup this morning and am getting the same thing. Did the same steps of hitting reset and or holding the power button to shutdown. After this I am getting BSOD that keeps restarting and BSOD in a loop. The next boot loaded with repair options. I attempted to do startup repair and have been unsuccessful. How to get out of BSOD restart loop?
Week ago I upgraded my windows 10. Then 5mins after that I got bluescreen on my monitor where reads something about KERNEL_SECURITY_PROBLEM. Only thing that i could do was restart so I restarted my PC few times cuz always when I tried to open my computer I got the same message so then it says that you could reboot your PC then i tried but my pc stucked to boot loop and had been like this a week. And I have tried so much different things. watching tutorials, forums, group chats but nothing works i have tried to go from safe mode install windows 7 or 10 but safe mode dont work i cant even open my window.
I tried to update my Windows 8.1 installation on my Thinkpad T61p to Windows 10. It went smoothly until it finished copying the files (75% complete). It is now rebooting in an endless loop (reboot -> Windows logo with spinning circle -> black screen -> Windows logo with spinning circle -> 75% complete message -> reboot) and I don't know what is causing the problem. I have installed the latest BIOS and tried various changes to BIOS settings with no effect. Does the installer write any kind of diagnostic log that would tell me the reason for the reboot loop?
After installing windows 10 on my asus laptop yesterday, last night I tried to wipe my laptop by resetting it, i left it at 1% before i went to bed and this morning it was still at 1% so i did a force turn off and when i turned it back on , it got stuck in a boot up loop where it would just keep on restarting [URL].
Safe mode doesn't work, nothing works, except the power button. What should i do? i didn't want to bring it to asus because the warranty expired 2 months ago.
I upgraded to Win 10 on Friday, and since, despite several resetting PC attempts, Win 10 will not load to the login screen. Instead, it is stuck on a loop flashing between the lock screen and a gray loading screen quickly back to the lock screen -- instead of loading to the login screen. This only happens when I attempt to restart or update my PC. If I go to the lock screen because I locked my PC or it fell asleep, I can unlock it. I have also attempted to reset my PC to the previous build, to no avail. I have no restore points.
I have a booting problem with my Windows 10, after having it for two months. Few days ago after turning my PC on, I had a message Starting Windows Repair, after some time it shows me the same screen with text - Diagnosing your PC. Then after having a black background, a light blue screen appears with error 'Your PC did not start correctly', it gives me options to restart it again or to open on Advanced options. There are so many of them, I tried all except the one with Restarting PC and deleting files, all the others, including Safe Mode won't work. I am stuck now here and can't use my PC.
Just reset Windows 10 on my laptop because I was unable to sign into my Microsoft account therefore I couldn't access Cortana or the Store or any of the new Microsoft 10 features. Everything else worked fine. So I started the reset process and chose the option to save all my personal files, and the process went smoothly until it got to the end of the installation. Now it looks like I'm stuck in a boot loop and it has been going on for about 12 hrs now. I am going to go to work and hope it is finished resetting when I come home.I loved Windows 10 so far, I just needed to be able to sign into my Microsoft account.
Alright so, i installed windows 10 had it working for about a week my graphics card was away for repair and when i finally got it back i tried installing it only to discover my PCI slot on my mobo was bad. So i ordered a new mobo when i got the new mobo in the mail i installed and powered on my system the usb drivers were working fine. I still popped in the install CD for audio drivers about mid install of the drivers i leave the room and come back to discover windows 10 had reset itself and was installing "updates" at about 55% it completely froze i left it alone for about an hour before I rebooted.
Upon rebooting i discovered none of my usb ports work it appears the driver install got eliminated mid installation. So my pc was just stuck there on the new annoying mandatory log in page Luckily my Mobo had a ps/2 slot so i had to travel all around town to thrift shops and pawn shops to find a ps/2 keyboard, success i got the keyboard and j signed in! Time to pop in the drivers CD and reaccomplish it! Only one thing... Windows says "failed to install update"*instant reboot* by the way my only internet access on this PC is a wireless usb dongle
Ok so basically, after successfully installing windows 10 from windows 7, I decided to clean my hard drive and reset windows because I deleted my "edge" and thus my apps were not working. The problem then started, the reset went fine until it reached 64% and read "configuring settings" then it just restarted my PC and went in a loop like this;
>startup >bios screen (Asus/Intel) >monitor turns off >monitor turns back on >blue win10 logo and loading circle >black screen for 5-10 secs >install screen displaying 64% >restarts and loops
I did a reset on my windows 10 laptop and since then when I turn on the computer, a blue screen appears which says inaccessible boot device and the computer restarts itself and the blue screen agin.. I tried to creat media creation on a memory stick and boot the computer from stick, but the memory stick is not recognised, the only option in the boot menu is windows boot manager.
I built myself a new computer recently and it boots fine if I am booting into the bios. However when booting off my thumbdrive to install windows 10 it boot loops, getting the the windows symbol and then restarting.
So this is not my personal computer, but this is my mom's computer. Its an HP Slimline Desktop computer, not sure about the exact model but it is running with an AMD Athlon X2 B24, 8GB of DDR3 RAM, AMD R5 240 and a Corsair Neutron 120GB SSD.
Everything was working fine when it was running a legitimate OEM copy of Windows 7 Home. However, after the Windows 10 upgrade process, it got stuck in "Welcome Back" Screen and she told me after she clicked "Next" the cursor started spinning, and it rebooted. Now after checking it, Windows wouldn't load to the desktop, it would just go on a bootloop and blue screens.
She didn't back anything up before the upgrade. I do not know what to do.
I was given an error message on reboot and followed a guide to editing the registry to restart the download. The download did not restart however, and my windows 10 is stuck in an endless loop of rebooting. I have downloaded a copy of windows 10 and put it onto a USB, but when I try to boot from USB it takes me back to the BIOS. The BIOS are 'Aptio Setup Utility 2011', and don't seem to allow me to change from UEFI boot to LEGACY boot, although the option is apparently there. Why the USB boot is not working correctly and how to make it do so, I am more than happy to reformat the computer but at this moment in time it's useless. The computer is an Alienware x51 from 2011. As previously mentioned the operating system the PC is trying to boot (or install) is windows 10.
