View 3 RepliesIts just randomly happens my take 1 min or 2 hours to happen from when I turn on my computer. Videos load but it just doesn't play even if you press play or skip to any part of a video and after 5-10 seconds when the video is supposed to play the plugin stops responding. Even if I switch browsers from Firefox to Microsoft edge or even chrome, the same thing happens. I also tried re installing adobe flash but still no luck. The only way I have found to fix this is to restart, usually the first time doesn't work only the second. But then it randomly happens again making me have to restart again and again and again super annoying and this problem has been occurring for about a week, even tho I have upgraded since to windows 10 since the release date on the 29th.
View 2 RepliesYesterday i had noramal updates and since then i cannot play utube videos just a black screen with continuous buffering no sound nothing.
View 1 RepliesI used to be able to play them....doesn't work in YouTube or anything
View 1 RepliesRecently, when I opened Youtube, the area previously shown with advertisement was replaced by a big blank area with the message "The server refused the connection", I also noted the advertisements in some other webpage also disappeared.
I am using Windows 10 with Google Chrome and I do not install any advertisement blocking software.
How can I make the advertisements to appear again?
This problem has frustrated me to no end. For some reason, flash videos on websites like Gamespot, IGN and Gametrailers will not work with the Edge browser. All I get is a black screen with sound, or most of the time without any sound at all.
Here are some of the things I've tried already:
1) Updating video card drivers. I'm running the latest NVidia drivers, version 361.75
2) Used sfc /scannow and DISM commands. sfc /scannow finds the driver opencl.dll as corrupt, but that's a well known bug. I still can't view any videos regardless of whether I'm using the Microsoft or NVidia version of that .dll.
3) Reinstall the Edge browser using this video
4) Checked whether Adobe Flash player was turned on in Edge about a million times
5) Uninstalled all Windows 10 updates (including flash related ones) and then reinstalled them.
I've been noticing a slower than normal connection/download speeds for youtube videos. All other file and video streaming sites and file downloads use my full bandwidth speed while youtube sometimes streams at half or less my full bandwidth speed. I use youtube's stats for nerds connection speed and task manager for my readings.
Things I've noticed with youtube:
1. The more youtube videos I watch the slower/lower the connection speed is for youtube videos. I don't have this problem with other sites.
2. Deleting the cookies for google.com and youtube.com along with the temporary internet files doesn't restore full connection speed.
3. A larger file cache is used when you select your quality manually vs auto with the same quality.
Things I have changed in windows:
1. Change Maximum Download Connections per Server Limit in Internet Explorer is set to 16 in group policy.
2. Limit reserved bandwidth is set to On and 0% in group policy.
3. Internet explorer data space to use is set to 1024MB.
Unsure what is happening here, for a few days now, when I load a youtube video, all I get is a black screen, and I do not see the video until I 'nudge' a few keys and throw mouse at screen (not really!)
Whilst this is happening I went up to 200mb last night from 150, so its not my broadband.
The image shows screen after approx 20 secs; the buffering circle only appears after I hit spacebar or enter. Thats does not mean I get the video though, it can appear now, or in another 30 sec or more
I am running Windows 10 from an automatic upgrade from Windows 8.1. My machine is a Dell Inspiron 15 laptop on my home wi-fi network which is powered by Cox Gigabit service. Everything works well and fast, except that I get no audio from videos in Facebook, Email and those in browser sites, like CNN. I do get audio from ITunes and other previously saved music.
View 7 RepliesEach time i watch a video in Chrome the browser start to behave weird, if i am on the same tab as the video playback and i try to type a word to search or url in URL bar and press enter the browser's loading icon never stops spining and i must close that tab and create a new one and the browser becomes really slow .My theory is:
A) Internet Download Manager may cause the problem
B) Google Account Sync may slow down the browser ???
C) The Avast online security add-on/plugin browser may is causing the problem
I downloaded Windows 10 and was pleased. Unfortunately Ever since, when I try to watch a video on (say) YouTube, I get a message that there has been an error and to try again later.
View 1 RepliesI'm running Wn10 and I would like to change some sounds. I'm running a background theme. I have downloaded a Wav file (thefreesite.com), added this file in a sound scheme (mail notification), tested it, saved it as modified scheme, but the sound doesn't play at all (when mail arrives). Is it perhaps not possible to play downloaded Wav files in a sound scheme ?
View 9 RepliesThe welcome videos will not run at all on Windows 10?. YouTube videos fail after 6-7 seconds, and have no sound.
View 2 RepliesI have a weird issue. Youtube videos started buffering on my computer for no reason, I have 120/30 so it's not my internet, I've tried all the other computers on my network, all fine. It's defiantly not this computer because it's less than 5 months old and has been working for all that time.

I've tried everything, disabling hardware acceleration, enabling it, running different browsers, running chrome without any addons, etc. Nothing works.
When going to the following page, there is a video, it plays in Chrome but not Internet Explorer 11 or Edge, what plug-in is actually used and how to fix it as it's the same reason moji's are not playing in skype.

When I try to play the video, it will show the same GUI as the one in Chrome below except it doesn't play in IE or Edge and comes up with a error ....
So I'm having a strange problem on my computer that I can't seem to fix. Youtube videos will not play after being left idle, on the videobar, it will show that the video is loading, but it wont play even if it says it is. I can't reinstall windows because I am dualbooting linux and I don't have the Windows bootloader to go into Recovery options, and even if I could, I don't want to uninstall Linux because it's fun to have another OS to use.
EDIT: I can fix it after restarting, but I've been doing that solution for days and it is annoying. It also affects all browsers. For example. if it happens in Chrome, I cant watch videos in Firefox
Not sure if this is the correct place to post this but anyway, I've noticed that Firefox is extremely slow when using Youtube when it comes to loading videos, but when I use Edge on Windows 10 it load just quickly without problems.
Any way to get Firefox to go faster?
why windows media player 12 wont play YouTube video's, it plays the audio side but not the video of it..I had windows media player 11 in before the windows 10 update and now media player wont play the videos only audio.
View 2 RepliesAfter a successful upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 I discovered that YouTube would not play. Fixed the video problem by running in compatibility mode .. BUT then noticed there was no sound from either speakers or headphones on my laptop. No Windows sounds, iTunes, nothing worked. Could this be a setting inadvertently turned "off' somewhere ? Up until I got YouTube working the sound was fine with Windows 10. I just don't know where to look to rectify this. Rebooting etc doesn't make any difference. I don't suspect a hardware fault, it must be an OS corruption or something.
View 3 RepliesI am running Outlook 2016 under Win 10. Under all previous versions of Outlook I have be enable to increase the time a new email alert stays on the screen by editing the registry like this.
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftOffice16.0CommonDesktopAlerts
DWORD: TimeOn
I have set the value of that DWORD to 360000 in an attempt get the alert to stay on an hour. The alerts stay on only about 3 or 4 seconds. How can I make the alerts stay on longer?
I'm trying out the chromecast device to hopefully eliminate having to move my laptop across the room and connect it via hdmi every night to watch movies on my tv screen. In windows 7 I could just drag the file into a new chrome page and it would open the file which could then be cast. Now when I drag a movie file into chrome it creates a download window in the bottom of chrome like any other file download, and then if I open it from that it just opens my default video player and plays the movie file. Any way to view local video files in chrome browser like you could in windows 7?
View 2 RepliesWorked fine yesterday and now today any browser that tries to load a video freezes. Any video I try to start with media player or VLC just starts to load up and stops, nothing happens. Have been searching for fixes, Cleared internet history cache, checked in control panel for video options .No clue how to try reinstalling flash to see if that is the problem because its built into windows 10.
View 9 RepliesEver since I downloaded Windows 10 I am having nothing but trouble. I try to watch video's and they keep breaking up and run real slow, thats after it takes so long to get it up to even look at. Its telling me something about Ad block stopping it, but I tried to fix that but not sure what I did.
View 15 RepliesWindows 10 does not play the videos from newsbin. They are avi, mp4, wmv and.rar type files.
