Feb 2, 2016I want to clean install Windows 10, and I already did that before using the tutorial here. But last time I did not have Ubuntu install.
And in the tutorial, you must delete all partitions in order for Windows to create the special necessary partitions (Recovery, MSR, MBR etc..)
But now that I have a Linux partition that I don't want to delete, and according to the tutorial, Windows installation will not create these partitions.
How can I manually create them? Is it simply allocating a space for them and naming them the proper way and Windows will know how to use them? Or there's more than that? Also, What happens if I do not have these partitions?

I can't believe that Windows 10 mail is so "primitive".But it does not work on my version of mail, no "File menu".Is Mail on windows 10 really so "bad" ?

Sep 27, 2015I did the upgrade from Windows 7 Ultimate to Windows 10 Pro. Privacy concerns aside, I like Windows 10. I haven't had any problems with software and hardware compatibility. I use 27 different email accounts within WLM 2012, for a variety of reasons. Many of these email accounts have additional folders that I have added. The accounts consist of sbcglobal.net, live.com, msn.com, outlook.com and windowslive.com.
I'm using a Dell XPS-17 L702X laptop with two 500GB internal drives. I will place the WLM 2012 backup on my second internal drive, Drive D. I need to know exactly how to backup WLM to this second drive so that I don't lose any saved emails in the various accounts. I will then import everything from this backup to the clean installation of Windows 10. Is this possible, or will I have to install WLM 2012 on Windows 10 and then add and configure each email account?

Aug 13, 2015"Outlook Express" which has been my email program since Windows XP and up to Windows 8.1 disappeared when I uploaded Windows 10. This included all my saved emails and all my contacts. The replacement email program, which I assume is from Windows 10, is as useful as a eunuch.
My old "Outlook Express" is hiding somewhere on my computer or do I have to accept that it is gone? If it is still in my computer how do I bring it to the forefront? I should note that I am not particularly computer literate.

Dec 15, 2015I've been using Windows 10 for about 2 months now and do like the feel of it.Now, I have a problem with the Edge browser not saving a website I try to favorite in a new folder under Favorites.When favoriting a website to Favorites or Favorite Toolbar, is saves the website as the star becomes yellow. But, if I make a new folder under Favorites and try to save to it, no luck. The star does not change to yellow nor does it favorite it under the new folder created.
Additionally, when I try to remove the folder created under Favorites, right clicking gives me the "remove" option but when I select it, nothing happens.

Download a file and then I click on the section to 'open folder'.
The Downloads folder opens, but just stays at the bottom, it doesn't pop up.
The file I just downloaded is there somewhere, but it isn't highlighted like it used to be in IE.

Dec 11, 2015I've use Live Mail for years and use a saved folder for, well for things I want to save. I cannot figure out how to migrate Live folders to W10 Mail.
In Live mail I have the option to block spammers or block their domain. I cannot find either of these actions in W10 Mail. I don't want to just send email to the junk mail folder, but if that does the same thing I guess it is OK.
I need to know if I cannot set up a Saved folder so I can copy things I need like authorizations and SNs to another folder (not OneDrive) I don't care to share my personal stuff with MS.
I can always use webmail if I need to, Live has just been convenient. This is what happened when people fix things that are not broken!

Aug 15, 2015I installed Windows 10 very recently and I like it, but I have a VERY BIG show-stopper: when I try to do search in the start menu, it's terrible; it cannot even find an application that I have manually pinned to start. I didn't have any such problem with Windows 8.1. I have also installed some other desktop applications, for example GitHub for Windows, but when I start to to type "Git...", it only finds "GitHub" and it cannot find "Git Shell" and I have to go to all programs, find "G", then expand the folder for this application and run that application.

I understand that this is the default location for Edge Favorites. With the desired "Favorites" folder placed and verified in the above location and I open Edge and click on Favorites and all I see under Favorites are two folders "Favorites Bar" and "BookmarksBar" (as expected both currently empty). I had hoped to see also an expandable "Favorites" folder with all the subfolders. How to use the previous referenced Desktop file folder or its content to restore my Favorites in Edge.

While in Edge the favorites are available but when I go to the default folder they are not listed. Is there another location they may be being saved or has my default location somehow been changed? My AppData folder shows a creation date of 11/17/15 with no modifications being made in favorites since that date.

Aug 15, 2015Have Z97 GAMING 5 (MS7917) 1.0 MoBo with Intel Core i7 4790K Just clean installed Windows 10 after upgrade from 7 Pro, but had issues with a Samsung SSD 840 EVO 250GB with MBR instead of the prefered one. Had to EUFI instead of BIOS, and apparently, my data drive (ST4000DM0001F2168) was converted and made the system disk to boot from. Anyway, Windows 10 starts and all, but it will not connect to the internet, 'no network drivers are available'. I downloaded the AMI Bios flash v1.b and updated that. Also downloaded MSI LiveUpdate 6 and installed it via USB stick, but nothing shows up on the scans as it cannot connect.
This all started because the stupid "USB Device not recognized" error message kept popping up and Chrome became so slow back in Windows 7. I did everything I read, to include popping out the MoBo battery. The error message still pops up in Windows 10, and Chrome was still slow after the upgrade. Figured a clean install would fix it all...and now I have a very large paperweight...
