View 4 RepliesI am having trouble configuring Outlook 2010 on a new Windows 10 Pro clean install so that mail from multiple Gmail and Comcast accounts all go into 1 PST file. I would like to have 1 inbox for all 5 email accounts.
Even when I use "Manually configure Server settings" and specify an existing PST on D:Outlook, Outlook creates a new PST file on C:Users(My Username)AppDataLocalMicrosoftOutlook.
I have my own domain's email which uses Outlook itself. I can login via Live.com or Outlook.com and it works fine but I am unable to set it up via Outlook 2016.
Microsoft has provided me the following mail configuration in the Outlook.com settings:
Server name: pop-mail.live.com
Port: 995
Encryption method: SSL
Server name: smtp-mail.live.com
Port: 587
Encryption method: TLS
But when I use this I get the following error ....
MS Outlook will not send email after windows 10 upgradeI loaded windows 10 from windows 7 and found that MS outlook would not send email. After searching google I found a reference to the SFC tool.close outlookOpen a command prompt in the administrator level
run sfc /scannow it runs about 15 minuets after completion, close command window reopen outlook and you will now be able to run outlook
So we have these tools that need elevated rights within IE to install correctly. In windows 7 we always did the right click, run as admin thing. However, now after the upgrade and Edge there seems to be no availability to run it as admin. Tried all the icons & right click that I can find for Edge but not getting the option anywhere.Tried also with the Edge app from /Windows/Systemapps and it didnt give the option either. Of course if I go back to IE it allows me..

View 9 RepliesHow do you pin Outlook web app to your taskbar on pc? I was able to do this in windows 7 but I can't remember how? I also sent a password for my nieces Outlook through Viber and when I click on it on my smartphone and it took me straight to my Outlook account. Have I now compromised myself to hackers?
View 2 RepliesTrying to set up my outlook in the Win 10 mail app...have all settings enter3ed correctly...including Outlook password for my cox email account...but every time I try to sync...sync window 10 just spins..Bigger issue is if I check the password for my outlook (Cox) account...the number of characters has doubled in Win 10 Mail settings ??My Outlook account for this mail box has 9 characters...works fine in Outlook 2003...
But when I check the password in the mail app...more than 12 characters-*'s show up in Win 10 app for password.Have deleted and added outlook mail pop a number of times...but after 'save'...I always get a much longer 'password'(*****etc) in settings than was entered in setup ?
I did the windows 10 upgrade yesterday and since then my Outlook 2010 cannot send mail. It receives mail as it should without any issues. I have multiple emails accounts with different vendors and it is doing the same on all of them so I have ruled out it being a hosting issue.I have also disabled all my internet security and firewall but that did not work at all?
View 9 RepliesTo Sync your email to Outlook after doing some email maintenance, hit the refresh button. I have attached a view of the button for reference. Note if you also are looking to manage your folders from Windows Mail, I have found that I need to do that from within Outlook. Unless someone has found another way....
View 1 RepliesI upgraded to Win10/Office 2016 from Win7/Office 2013. At the same time, I changed my web mail (Gmail) from POP3 to IMAP. Since the upgrade, Outlook creates *.ost data files instead of *.pst data files.
As far as I am able to determine, *.ost files are a product of or are otherwise related to an Exchange server, with which I am not associated., i.e., I am using my home custom PC. I also log in to Win10 with a local (vs. Microsoft) account. In Outlook, Work Offline in Send/Receive preferences is grayed out and red Xed; the Outlook icon in the task bar is also red Xed.
All of my searches about this issue relate it to Outlook behavior with an Exchange server. Not being on an Exchange server, I can find no solutions. When I first set up Win10, I logged on using a MS account but no longer do so. Nevertheless, I am wondering if I am tied to MS servers.
My question: however I accomplish it, how do I tweak Outlook to create *.pst data files instead of the *.ost data files.
Since updating to Windows 10 my Office 365 Outlook will not send emails - error unable to connect to network - yet it receives them OK and if I go to account settings and use 'Test' it sends and receives OK this is true of all my accounts, Hotmail, gmail and two domain accounts. All can be set up and work from the new Mail App. Have run online repair of Office 365 and rebooted to no avail,
View 9 RepliesAfter I upgraded to Windows 10 I am unable to click on any link in Outlook 2003. I get a popup that says "Locate link browser". I searched for a solution and read that I needed to associate it with IExplore.exe. After doing that, now whenever I click a link it opens IExplore to my home page. How I can resolve this error and get it to go to the URL rather than just opening IExplore?
Instructions I found were these but don't seem to apply to Windows 10:
On the desktop, double-click My Computer. On the Tools menu, click Folder Options, and then click the File Types tab.In the Registered File Types list, click URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol, click Advanced, and then click Edit.In the Actions box, type open.In the Application used to perform action box, locate Internet Explorer (Iexplore.exe), and then click Open.In the Application box, type IExplore, and then click OK.
My Windows 10 E-Mail app keeps telling me that "Your Outlook account settings are out of date".When i click on "Fix" then it fixes it temporarily but the issue soon returns.
View 9 RepliesI've connected the Mail app to my Gmail account. It can access my mail without problem but when I try and open an email I get the following message. There is insufficient memory or disk space. Outlook cannot display the requested font. This only happens on the first email selected.
The email is displayed but most of the text is missing. Images are displayed and text which I am guessing does not use default values e.g. different font and possibly style.
My parents Windows 7 laptop fried recently, I got them a new HP 350 G2 which came with Win8.1 and i upgraded to 10. My father used to use outlook express with an email through his ISP, and the only way I see to import that email into a new account involves being on the computer using outlook express and using the migration tool. Obviously I can't do that since that computer is toast (the motherboard fried).
View 6 Replies"Outlook Express" which has been my email program since Windows XP and up to Windows 8.1 disappeared when I uploaded Windows 10. This included all my saved emails and all my contacts. The replacement email program, which I assume is from Windows 10, is as useful as a eunuch.
My old "Outlook Express" is hiding somewhere on my computer or do I have to accept that it is gone? If it is still in my computer how do I bring it to the forefront? I should note that I am not particularly computer literate.
I want to continue to use Outlook as my main email client (but the built-in app in Windows 10 is little more than a pretty toy, even my phone's email app is more powerful and configurable). I have Outlook 2010 installed on my PC and Outlook 2013 installed on my laptop (I prefer 2010 though), and I access about half a dozen POP3 accounts using both machines, using rules to transfer mails to multiple folders, etc.
The one (and thus far only) plus point I've found about the native Win10 mail/calendar app is that it syncs nicely with my contacts and calendar on my Android devices (via my Google gmail account, which I basically only use for syncing not for actually emailing, as I really don't need any more active email accounts!).
My question is how do I get Outlook 2010 or 2013 to use the new Windows 10 calendar? And ideally sync the contacts too. That way my PCs and my Android devices will all finally be in sync without having to fiddle around manually.
After installing Windows 10 everything looks good but Outlook does not send emails they just sit in the outbox. Account settings look ok and server message is received when tested.
View 3 RepliesUpgraded both our Desktop & Laptop to Windows 10 in the past few months. Last week I tried to access some Outlook emails that were more than two years old, the attachments & emoticons do not appear. This is on both PC's & the same result using Edge, IE or Chrome.
I installed Windows Live Mail & now I can see all the attachments & emoticons. Forwarded some of the emails from Live Mail to myself & now in Outlook the attachments/emoticons all appear as well (all three browser Edge, IE & Chrome). So say for instance I have a 2 & 1/2 year old email in a Outlook folder that will not display attachments/emoticons but the very same email just forwarded from Live Mail to my Outlook inbox now displays all attachments & emoticons
Tried inspecting elements. See msgs regarding HTML, Java Script in Edge? Don't have either Java or Silverlight installed, guess the newer browsers are moving towards HTML.
I now get "Network Operation Failed"
and below that,
"Error with send/receive. There was an error synchronizing your folder hierarchy. Error: 80041004"
This Outlook install is part of Office 2010. Everything was running fine until this morning. I did a lot of searching and found a reference to a Control Panel setting. However, now, it appears that Control Panel has gone missing!!! I ran a utility on the command line, I forget the actual command, to deal with corrupted files. It found some issue, so it said. I rebooted. Nothing has changed... I've wasted the whole day so far.
I don't know if it is related but I seem to also have problems on some web sites displaying images. As if the HTML is displayed only, without the css settings. (Chrome browser) - same on Firefox browser.
Ever since I synced my email I have had a problem with all Microsoft sites taking ages to load. What I can do about this?
View 3 RepliesMy computer was updated early hours this morning, 13 December, but I notice now that my address book in my email Outlook is missing. How do I get it back? I presume it must still be there, somewhere!!

View 8 RepliesI want to do a clean install of Win 10 on my Wife's pc as there is a big "unsolved" problem with BSOD's following the upgrade from Win 8.1. However she uses Outlook.com for email and there is not an easy way to save the emails. If I do a clean install, will all her emails still be available?
View 3 RepliesI added both my outlook e-mail account and my gmail account on the windows 10 mail app...The problem i noticed is that when you a delete an e-mail on the app (from either the outlook account or the gmail account) it doesn't also delete it from the actual outlook or gmail account. I know that because if i log directly into the web versions of those accounts, that the messages i deleted are still there.
Do they get deleted after a certain period of time? I thought this was supposed to get synched to the account so that they work together...
Also, i don't always seem to get the notifications from the "action center" on windows 10, even though i have it set in the settings of each account to notify me and play the sound...
