After the System Reset for Windows 10 on my Laptop, it is not displaying webpages correctly on Internet Explorer 11. Below is the screenshot.
View 9 RepliesJust noticed that clicking on this option doesn't open it in file explorer like it does on my Windows 7 machine. I can browse my FTP drive fine from within internet explorer 11. It's not a major issue as I can type the address in file explorer and get it that way. It's just a little frustrating this option doesn't work.
View 1 RepliesI managed to see my friends Windows 10, Home edition, manage to get another problem now.
I did try to change the default browser i.e. change Windows Edge to Internet explorer.
However when I clicked on change browser, internet explorer was chosen, nothing seem to have changed, all I seen was edge browser.
There was no IE11 in the open All Apps.
When I went to Microsoft webpage to download internet explorer 11 a message said I have the latest Internet explorer installed.... still cant get internet explorer to become default web browser.
When I first upgraded IE was OK but for some unknown it has become very slow.
View 5 RepliesI successfully installed 14257; however, I have nothing but problems with it. I cannot get Internet explorer to work. It freezes up, cannot use the back or forward arrow, cannot change addresses, and at one time I received an error message saying something about a Microsoft Visual C++ runtime error message. I looked in my installed application files, Visual C++ is there, I ran a 'repair' on it, and the repair reported it installed without problems. I also cannot open most of the windows applications (Edge, Feedback, etc) then I cannot open any applications as the 'window' button freezes up. I have been able to run sfc /scannow, which reports no issues found and all system files are intact. I am destined to scrap the insider preview on this computer. It works on my laptop but the laptop is too slow and cumbersome to use. while Internet explorer will not work, it does open and I can view web pages but only those that are already on MSN (my home page). I cannot resize IE, nor can I move it anywhere else on the desktop.
Update: I went to Microsoft, downloaded Visual Studio C++ for Windows 10 that didn't get installed. The install seems to have corrected my problems. I can now open IE, EDGE, Feedback, and my start button works again.
I have 1 desktop and 2 All In Ones which I am trying to configure to W10. I just changed the desktop to IE using the switch under the three dots where it says open with IE. I tried to do the same with this AIO and that switch doesn't work. I attempted to reset the default from Edge to IE but I can't find a IE default.
View 4 RepliesThis seems to be happening to quite a few people on Windows 10 it seems. It has started happening to me too lately. It happens when, say, I have one tab open to the forums, and I open another to get an image from Bing Images to make a point, or just for fun(those who know me, know what I mean, when I use GIF's), I download the image fine, then either switch tabs back or close the Images tab, then BAM: "IE has stopped working collecting information".
So I looked at the crash logs in Reliability History, and found out that it's iertutil.dll that seems to be the culprit:
Normally that could mean either the .dll is corrupted and needs to be replaced, OR, somehow got moved to the wrong place(accidentally drag & dropped while "surfing" File Explorer, happens to me sometimes), and needs to be moved back.
So I tried going into File Explorer and and searching the Windows folder. After about 8 minutes it was still searching (Hello! I have a Samsung 850 Pro I expect a little more speed !!!) . So I opened up UltraSearch, pasted "iertutil.dll" in and immediately got this:
as you can see, the path(s) are correct, but I see there are a few WinSxS files also. There could be a possible corruption there, is what I'm hoping.
What I'm going to try, is, cleaning out the Side by Side folder so well as I can using Disk Cleanup and the Extreme version of SFC-DISM:

Internet explorer 11 will not open, did an upgrade from 8.1 to 10 home edition. I have run a repair install & dism /restorehealth , unchecked ie 11 in programs & features rebooted and still nothing.

View 3 RepliesToday I have installed Win10 Pro edition and I'm currently trying it out. I have encountered this massive problem: Some web pages do not load! Some pages are completely fine (this one, facebook, stackoverflow, few other forums I visit...), but some are terrible. (ESPN, for example)
When I try to access the page this is what I get:I have tried: Chrome, Firefox, Edge and IE. Same result no matter which browser.I try accessing this page on my laptop running Windows 7 and everything looked fine and as usual.
It's been a while since I have been on here since I haven't had many issues. But, I have ran into an issue with Internet Explorer 11. It won't let me change my home page to Bing and MSN. It says it's already set to Bing and MSN. But whenever I open IE 11, it pulls up my ISP's home page.

View 9 RepliesCan't lauch Outlook 2010 from Internet explorer! on Windows 10 Home. Gives me this error message.
I also can't install my printer. Keep getting error message saying printer driver is in use. It asks me to stop the driver so I do and then I get error message saying I need to start it! I haven't a clue how to fix it. The printer does work wirelessly but I can't use any features like Duplex printing Etc.
Some webpages are not loading for a day. I'm using just about every browser like Maxthon, Mozzila Firefox, Chrome and opera and Internet Explorer and the problem appears again. Sometimes is fixed via pc restart only.
Why is happening and what should i do? I'm also trying to clean the browser cache but not always fixed. Is it something wrong with my pc?
When going to the following page, there is a video, it plays in Chrome but not Internet Explorer 11 or Edge, what plug-in is actually used and how to fix it as it's the same reason moji's are not playing in skype.

View 9 RepliesSo, instead of using my browser for my emails I set them up in Windows Mail, but although it will show all the folders it won't show anything in my inboxes. I've tried syncing but to no avail.
View 1 RepliesEvery time I go to "This PC" section in my file explorer it never loads and is very slow. If I try to launch it from the Start I get what's shown in the pic. I can still navigate to other places on my drive and access the files as such but I cant use this section.
View 5 RepliesI upgraded a month or so ago and all was fine but the last few weeks most web sites fail. I know my network is ok as other computers are ok and from the problem host oing and ssh work just fine (ip address and hostname). Google seems to work ok, most of the time, but most sites from google time out. The same if I type the site in by hand. I have tried Chrome and Edge, I was unable to download firefox, the web site timed out. I have AVG antivirus suite installed, I have tried to disable all its componets to no avail.
I have a local web server XAMP running and I cannot reach it locally, but from another host on my net it works ok.
I am using WiFi, but so are all my hosts.
I tried wireshark but it was inconclusive, I never did see any traffic. Coming or going, but I know coming works as the server was working, so I must have been on wrong interface (I had clicked on wifi). Netstat was also inconclusive, I could see the connection to google and the web server but not the timed out connections. I'm at a loss as to what to try next?
I tried connecting with netcat but it timed out just like the browsers.
I just went to use the Mail app in Windows 10 for the first time and noticed that a lot of my emails are being displayed in a weird way, mostly with images. Most notably with youtube emails:
Ex. 1 : (personal info has been 'oranged' out). n entire third of the screen is being used by a single line of text (also some words at the bottom of the email) that should really just be directly beneath the 'YouTube' logo banner.
This problem is exacerbated when the app is made smaller with window mode. Is this just normal for the Mail app, or is there a way to make emails and images display 'correctly'?
I need to be able to automate some settings in Windows 10 for our organization. I am looking for set the Default Browser to IE11 instead of Edge using the registry.
View 1 RepliesI thought I'd install Windows 10 Threshold 2 (not to make the same mistake twice, on a laptop I hardly use this time) to see if the built-in Microsoft apps are now any better than they were in July. Disappointingly, with the exception of being able to turn off 'Conversation View', the Mail app is just as diabolically poor as it was back then. But on top of that, another thing I noticed this time is that when you type a name into the 'To:' field, it doesn't even look up that name / email address from your 'People' app contacts. The auto-complete feature only populates for people you've previously emailed.
So basically, if you haven't emailed someone, it won't show their name despite their details and email address being listed in the 'People' app.
Of course, another problem with not populating the auto-complete addresses from your address book is that if a contact changes their email address and you update their details in the 'People' app, the Mail app will still use the old email address in the autocomplete dropdown, causing you to keep emailing the wrong address.
Did Microsoft seriously release a Mail app that can't even look up names in your contacts list?
Upgraded both our Desktop & Laptop to Windows 10 in the past few months. Last week I tried to access some Outlook emails that were more than two years old, the attachments & emoticons do not appear. This is on both PC's & the same result using Edge, IE or Chrome.
I installed Windows Live Mail & now I can see all the attachments & emoticons. Forwarded some of the emails from Live Mail to myself & now in Outlook the attachments/emoticons all appear as well (all three browser Edge, IE & Chrome). So say for instance I have a 2 & 1/2 year old email in a Outlook folder that will not display attachments/emoticons but the very same email just forwarded from Live Mail to my Outlook inbox now displays all attachments & emoticons
Tried inspecting elements. See msgs regarding HTML, Java Script in Edge? Don't have either Java or Silverlight installed, guess the newer browsers are moving towards HTML.
