View 3 RepliesI just got Windows 10 and finally got my 2003 Outlook Mail Client to work. Previously, when I clicked a link in my Reading Pane, it opened in IE, my default browser. Now, I get a dialog box asking me for my link browser and presenting a Documents directory. When I finally find Internet Explorer in my Programs and enter it, I get the IE Home Page. The link doesn't load. I can't get the dialog back to change anything. What can I do to see the page I click on in my reading pane?

View 5 RepliesI am having trouble configuring Outlook 2010 on a new Windows 10 Pro clean install so that mail from multiple Gmail and Comcast accounts all go into 1 PST file. I would like to have 1 inbox for all 5 email accounts.
Even when I use "Manually configure Server settings" and specify an existing PST on D:Outlook, Outlook creates a new PST file on C:Users(My Username)AppDataLocalMicrosoftOutlook.
I have my own domain's email which uses Outlook itself. I can login via Live.com or Outlook.com and it works fine but I am unable to set it up via Outlook 2016.
Microsoft has provided me the following mail configuration in the Outlook.com settings:
Server name: pop-mail.live.com
Port: 995
Encryption method: SSL
Server name: smtp-mail.live.com
Port: 587
Encryption method: TLS
But when I use this I get the following error ....
I just bought a laptop with Win 10 64Bit. I loaded Chrome, and everytime I use Facebook, and click on an external site with media, or Flash media, that site says "Cannot load plugin". I installed the latest Flash app, even though Chrome SAYS it ALWAYS AUTOMATICALLY updates ALL PLUGINS!!
View 2 RepliesNew to W10 (from W7) . The problem, a certain webpage and my home page [URL] .... won't load in FF. I get 'Server not found
It works in Edge and I am rather new to that so prefer to stay with Firefox.
In IE I get the error message 'This page can't be displayed'
My son (remote and yesterday) reported the same thing and it also happens on my laptop (W7 install) next to me.
A few days ago websites began taking a very long time to load/respond. I was just browsing the internet when it happened (wasn't on any questionable websites). Other computers in our house work fine, so I know it has nothing to do with the router. I pinged a bunch of websites and they are taking anywhere from 1000-1500ms to respond. There were two instances where it only took 40 and 42ms to respond.
Usually the page will act like it's loading, then just stop as if I never clicked on anything. Then five or 10 seconds later whatever I clicked on will pop up in no time. Also, on iTunes when previewing songs I'll get the pop up that says opening url/connecting, then the song may or may not play. I've also had the pop up that says there's no network connecting.
MS Outlook will not send email after windows 10 upgradeI loaded windows 10 from windows 7 and found that MS outlook would not send email. After searching google I found a reference to the SFC tool.close outlookOpen a command prompt in the administrator level
run sfc /scannow it runs about 15 minuets after completion, close command window reopen outlook and you will now be able to run outlook
Ok, I loaded the Windows 10 Store. Next thing I got to know, there is no 'Open' or 'Install' button on the Windows 10 Store, along with the Windows 10 Store taking forever to load.
How do I fix this Windows 10 Store madness? I just fixed my Start Menu some days ago, so the Windows 10 Store might be mad at me for removing the Windows 10 Store icon out of the taskbar, too.
I cannot get the My yahoo site to load on either IE or Firefox. It's supposed to be my home page and has all my bookmarks on it. I can get to Yahoo mail and sports, but the home page can't be displayed. Firefox said it was on another server and the path couldn't be completed.
View 9 RepliesThis happened two weeks ago. almost 30 percent of images on facebook will not load. some web sites or pages will not load, for example [URL] ...... for this site I'm getting SSL connection error ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR in Chrome. I try http and I get a blank page. I tried opening this site on Firefox, Edge and still the same. The same goes for Facebook. I tried on other browsers and still some images wont load. I do not have a third party antivirus/firewall. tried disabling windows defender ( including firewall) and still the same.
I have two VMs , Win 8 and Ubuntu 14.04. everything is working fine on these two VMs. so I'm quite sure something is wrong with my Win 10 but cannot think of anything. I was thinking it is most probably a firewall issue, so I'm posting in Security section.
I've been using Win 10 for some weeks. Until today, it would open three programs for me upon startup and waking, as had happened with Windows 7 before I upgraded to Windows 10.
Today my user account settings were changed and now one of the programs no longer opens unless I click on the icon. It's Windows Live Mail. I tried Pin to Taskbar, Pin to Start, and a combo of both but the email program does not load unless I click the icon.
Unsure what is happening here, for a few days now, when I load a youtube video, all I get is a black screen, and I do not see the video until I 'nudge' a few keys and throw mouse at screen (not really!)
Whilst this is happening I went up to 200mb last night from 150, so its not my broadband.
The image shows screen after approx 20 secs; the buffering circle only appears after I hit spacebar or enter. Thats does not mean I get the video though, it can appear now, or in another 30 sec or more
After upgrading to Windows 10 on an acer gaming notebook, the screen is blinking when booting and it takes 10 minutes to load windows.
Everything is okay when the system has started...
This happened to a friends laptop, just got it now.
So I restarted my computer and router because my internet was being slower then usual. After I restarted my computer it took almost 30 secs to show the log in screen, that's the longest it's ever taken. After I log in it takes about 3 mins to load an application. Even when I attempted to open my windows setting it's slow. My computer is a gaming computer with an i7 and a gtx 970 with 16 gigs of dd3 ram.
View 1 RepliesI use Google Chrome as my search engine.
I downloaded the program and have been using it since I got this computer about 5 weeks ago.
I had a shortcut on my desktop and one on my taskbar at the bottom.
I also had an app in my charm bar in the windows window in the bottom left or whatever the popup is being called now...
A couple of days ago the Chrome shortcut went from the familiar Google colors to a white, blank sheet of paper in the taskbar. I tried to reload it but I keep getting a message about an error code.
I can still search with google using the blank piece of paper looking icon in the taskbar and I get google when I cut on the computer. But I want the shortcut and the familiar looking google colors back.
I was going to delete the program and reload it but I don't want to lose all the bookmarks I have already loaded.
How do you pin Outlook web app to your taskbar on pc? I was able to do this in windows 7 but I can't remember how? I also sent a password for my nieces Outlook through Viber and when I click on it on my smartphone and it took me straight to my Outlook account. Have I now compromised myself to hackers?
View 2 RepliesTrying to set up my outlook in the Win 10 mail app...have all settings enter3ed correctly...including Outlook password for my cox email account...but every time I try to sync...sync window 10 just spins..Bigger issue is if I check the password for my outlook (Cox) account...the number of characters has doubled in Win 10 Mail settings ??My Outlook account for this mail box has 9 characters...works fine in Outlook 2003...
But when I check the password in the mail app...more than 12 characters-*'s show up in Win 10 app for password.Have deleted and added outlook mail pop a number of times...but after 'save'...I always get a much longer 'password'(*****etc) in settings than was entered in setup ?
I did the windows 10 upgrade yesterday and since then my Outlook 2010 cannot send mail. It receives mail as it should without any issues. I have multiple emails accounts with different vendors and it is doing the same on all of them so I have ruled out it being a hosting issue.I have also disabled all my internet security and firewall but that did not work at all?
View 9 Replieshow can we configure Microsoft Outlook 2013 or 2016 on Windows 10 operating system?
View 4 RepliesTo Sync your email to Outlook after doing some email maintenance, hit the refresh button. I have attached a view of the button for reference. Note if you also are looking to manage your folders from Windows Mail, I have found that I need to do that from within Outlook. Unless someone has found another way....
View 1 RepliesI upgraded to Win10/Office 2016 from Win7/Office 2013. At the same time, I changed my web mail (Gmail) from POP3 to IMAP. Since the upgrade, Outlook creates *.ost data files instead of *.pst data files.
As far as I am able to determine, *.ost files are a product of or are otherwise related to an Exchange server, with which I am not associated., i.e., I am using my home custom PC. I also log in to Win10 with a local (vs. Microsoft) account. In Outlook, Work Offline in Send/Receive preferences is grayed out and red Xed; the Outlook icon in the task bar is also red Xed.
All of my searches about this issue relate it to Outlook behavior with an Exchange server. Not being on an Exchange server, I can find no solutions. When I first set up Win10, I logged on using a MS account but no longer do so. Nevertheless, I am wondering if I am tied to MS servers.
My question: however I accomplish it, how do I tweak Outlook to create *.pst data files instead of the *.ost data files.
Since updating to Windows 10 my Office 365 Outlook will not send emails - error unable to connect to network - yet it receives them OK and if I go to account settings and use 'Test' it sends and receives OK this is true of all my accounts, Hotmail, gmail and two domain accounts. All can be set up and work from the new Mail App. Have run online repair of Office 365 and rebooted to no avail,
View 9 RepliesAfter I upgraded to Windows 10 I am unable to click on any link in Outlook 2003. I get a popup that says "Locate link browser". I searched for a solution and read that I needed to associate it with IExplore.exe. After doing that, now whenever I click a link it opens IExplore to my home page. How I can resolve this error and get it to go to the URL rather than just opening IExplore?
Instructions I found were these but don't seem to apply to Windows 10:
On the desktop, double-click My Computer. On the Tools menu, click Folder Options, and then click the File Types tab.In the Registered File Types list, click URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol, click Advanced, and then click Edit.In the Actions box, type open.In the Application used to perform action box, locate Internet Explorer (Iexplore.exe), and then click Open.In the Application box, type IExplore, and then click OK.
My Windows 10 E-Mail app keeps telling me that "Your Outlook account settings are out of date".When i click on "Fix" then it fixes it temporarily but the issue soon returns.
