View 1 RepliesAt some point in the last couple of weeks the Send To/Mail Recipient function has stopped working. When I select a file and do the send to, Windows starts thinking, the explorer window that I have selected this from stops taking input and then eventually, with no error messages, the explorer window closes and desktop explorer resets.
My Default mail client is Outlook 2013 (15.0.4745.1000)
I upgraded to Windows 10 a little while ago, and while it has mostly been smooth sailing I have encountered a small glitch.
Middle-clicking on things in the taskbar normally opens a new instance on the corresponding application. This feature works perfectly for everything but Firefox.
I am not sure if it is a setting within Firefox or Windows that is blocking this behavior, or if it is a bug.
I have discovered two workarounds.
1) Open a new Firefox window using the shortcut in the Start Screen.
2) Drag a tab away to create a new window.
MS Outlook will not send email after windows 10 upgradeI loaded windows 10 from windows 7 and found that MS outlook would not send email. After searching google I found a reference to the SFC tool.close outlookOpen a command prompt in the administrator level
run sfc /scannow it runs about 15 minuets after completion, close command window reopen outlook and you will now be able to run outlook
I did the windows 10 upgrade yesterday and since then my Outlook 2010 cannot send mail. It receives mail as it should without any issues. I have multiple emails accounts with different vendors and it is doing the same on all of them so I have ruled out it being a hosting issue.I have also disabled all my internet security and firewall but that did not work at all?
View 9 RepliesYesterday I installed the win10 "November major upgrade" to my Win10 system. I upgraded to Win10 couple of months ago from Win7. There were some problems then but I managed to fix them. After yesterday's upgrade some of the problems reappeared. I had hard time to recall HOW I fixed it couple of months ago, but this one I just cannot get over:
When trying to send mail from Outlook 2007, this error appears: :Error 452.4.1.0 Policy violation . Your host xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx has no valid reverse DNS.: and mail resides in the "to be sent" folder. No need to say that before upgrade all worked OK and that this cannot be real error, because I can send mails from the same LAN via other devices. It seems that the upgrade changed something. The inability to send e-mail costs me lot of money and I need this to be solved asap.
Since updating to Windows 10 my Office 365 Outlook will not send emails - error unable to connect to network - yet it receives them OK and if I go to account settings and use 'Test' it sends and receives OK this is true of all my accounts, Hotmail, gmail and two domain accounts. All can be set up and work from the new Mail App. Have run online repair of Office 365 and rebooted to no avail,
View 9 RepliesI am using the Edge Browser, and I find sending a link via e mail cumbersome. I am using outlook 2010, is there a " Correct" or easy way to send a link via e mail and it was in IE ?
View 9 RepliesI have just upgraded to Windows 10 and want to use the Mail app. I got it set up and it will receive but not send: I get this error message in my Inbox - "We weren't able to send this message, so we've put it in your Drafts folder. Before you try sending it again, you can check to see if the address is correct and that no attachments are too large". Obviously I've done those checks, I've run an sfc scan as advised in one of the forums, an adviser at my ISP has confirmed that the settings are correct ...
View 6 RepliesI now get "Network Operation Failed"
and below that,
"Error with send/receive. There was an error synchronizing your folder hierarchy. Error: 80041004"
This Outlook install is part of Office 2010. Everything was running fine until this morning. I did a lot of searching and found a reference to a Control Panel setting. However, now, it appears that Control Panel has gone missing!!! I ran a utility on the command line, I forget the actual command, to deal with corrupted files. It found some issue, so it said. I rebooted. Nothing has changed... I've wasted the whole day so far.
I don't know if it is related but I seem to also have problems on some web sites displaying images. As if the HTML is displayed only, without the css settings. (Chrome browser) - same on Firefox browser.
Four days now and cant send emails!

View 1 RepliesAny way to add an email client to the Send To context menu in Windows 10?
Here's what I want to be able to do:
1. Right click file or files
2. Choose Send To> Mail Client
3. Have a blank email draft open with the files attached
The reason I want to be able to do this is because the current method takes longer. See below:
1. Open Mail Client
2. Select New Mail
3. Select Attach
4. Navigate to files
5. Select files
Currently there is a "Mail Recipient" within the context menu, but it is not compatible with any of the mail clients I've used (Gmail app, Windows Mail app, Mailbird). I've tried adding these to the SendTo folder in WindowsApps, but this only opens the app, not a blank email with the files already attached.
I do have the "Send to" context menu entry in windows explorer but there's only Bluetooth Device listed (and I even have this turned off, go figure). There is no E-Mail Recipient like it used to in my previous Windows installation.
I've tried the 7/8 Forums recommendations but my "Send to" folders in Default and User already contain the MAPI entry. I even deleted it and re-did it according to the tutorial but to no avail.
There's a fix it EXE available from some forum that fixes some Reg Entries but it was for Vista and does not work for Win10.
that smiley icon is a bit of annoying.
View 9 RepliesThe upper right profile picture on the default Startup Page of Microsoft Edge doesn't update. It keeps displaying the first profile picture I used when I installed Windows 10.Maybe it's a detail for most of the people but being a nitpicker, and not being given any option to modify it directly (and it should be tied to the Microsoft Account. All my other (tied to Microsoft account) profile pictures, on my phone (Nokia 1020/909) as well as on the online Microsoft services and Windows 10 update correctly, almost instantly, but not this one.
By the way, any valid link to download the WinDbg tool for Windows 10 (not the 8.1 one)? The official one doesn't work. Had found one that was working but I can't find it again. Got some random BSOD, probably tied to (a)faulty RAM stick(s), but I need to do further investigations, and the system restore deleted the tool installation.
Having changed from windows 7 to windows 10 MS word now requires one to log into Microsoft Exchange to obtain address book MS exchange apparently is now required (at a PRICE) to send an E mails direct from MS word.
View 1 RepliesAfter I upgraded to Windows 10 I am unable to click on any link in Outlook 2003. I get a popup that says "Locate link browser". I searched for a solution and read that I needed to associate it with IExplore.exe. After doing that, now whenever I click a link it opens IExplore to my home page. How I can resolve this error and get it to go to the URL rather than just opening IExplore?
Instructions I found were these but don't seem to apply to Windows 10:
On the desktop, double-click My Computer. On the Tools menu, click Folder Options, and then click the File Types tab.In the Registered File Types list, click URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol, click Advanced, and then click Edit.In the Actions box, type open.In the Application used to perform action box, locate Internet Explorer (Iexplore.exe), and then click Open.In the Application box, type IExplore, and then click OK.
Edge on rare occasions does not open? I have it pinned to the taskbar and on very, very rare instances nothing opens. It's a very easy remedy, either reboot or quicker still if I go into taskmanager and kill the edge process. Then if I click on the pinned taskbar for edge it opens just fine and happy browsing.
I must re-iterate replicating the issue is tough because it is quite rare. Happened yesterday and before that a couple weeks ago. So I'm thinking it's just an 'Edge' thing that happens from time to time.
Up until today's updates Right Click when using Edge had very limited functionality however much to my surprise Right Click options now include Copy, Paste, Copy Link, Copy Picture and Save Picture. Still MIA is Create Shortcut but I won't hold my breath.
View 9 RepliesEdge appears when I click on it--or something does--then immediately disappears. Is there a way to reinstall it? or correct this behavior? I recently had huge problems with setting permissions and to solve them I restored to an earlier restore point.
View 2 RepliesIn IE I could right click the back arrow and see my history and select a previous page, I can't do that in Edge. I right click-nothing, I left click and hold and nothing.
View 9 RepliesWhen I first got Win 10, the Edge browser worked great but after a time it simply quit working. The opening screen with the icon comes up but then it goes back to my desktop. I can still use Explorer but Edge had some features I liked and I would like to go back to it before too long. I have seen some comments here about proxy servers and the like but I am not brave enough to tinker with that.
View 7 RepliesThis problem has frustrated me to no end. For some reason, flash videos on websites like Gamespot, IGN and Gametrailers will not work with the Edge browser. All I get is a black screen with sound, or most of the time without any sound at all.
Here are some of the things I've tried already:
1) Updating video card drivers. I'm running the latest NVidia drivers, version 361.75
2) Used sfc /scannow and DISM commands. sfc /scannow finds the driver opencl.dll as corrupt, but that's a well known bug. I still can't view any videos regardless of whether I'm using the Microsoft or NVidia version of that .dll.
3) Reinstall the Edge browser using this video
4) Checked whether Adobe Flash player was turned on in Edge about a million times
5) Uninstalled all Windows 10 updates (including flash related ones) and then reinstalled them.
How do I turn off the mouse auto click when it hovers over a link in a web page. I downloaded the windows 10 and it has started doing this. I can't find a thing anywhere about this issue. I have an Asus laptop and a Toshiba laptop and they are both doing this since getting the windows 10. I spend more time going back to my original page than I get to read the original page! Try shopping and reading a description. Taking a test online was challenging to say the least.
View 9 RepliesMy send to menu (activated by right-clicking a file) is not working now - seems to have changed with latest Windows update to version 1511. All I now get is bluetooth device. I checked the send to folder and all the old choices are there, but they don't show up with a right click.
