View 9 Replieshow do I disable ads in edge browser. I have become fond of this new browser of microsoft's but I am really getting annoyed with the ads filling up the webpage.
View 9 RepliesEr, does it? It's not a big deal if it does or not, just curious.
View 1 RepliesI am wanting to remove or at least disable edge browser in Windows 10. I will never use this web browser and so would like to get it out of the way.
View 9 RepliesSo we have these tools that need elevated rights within IE to install correctly. In windows 7 we always did the right click, run as admin thing. However, now after the upgrade and Edge there seems to be no availability to run it as admin. Tried all the icons & right click that I can find for Edge but not getting the option anywhere.Tried also with the Edge app from /Windows/Systemapps and it didnt give the option either. Of course if I go back to IE it allows me..

View 3 RepliesHow do I disable the Edge PDF Reader? - the one the opens a PDF file in a window that gives the user no option to enlarge or reduce or print or open with the Adobe reader, thus rendering it useless. All you get is a Save As option. I would like instead for it in invoke Adobe Reader.
I do not have this issue in IE 11 or in Chrome. I have already associated PDF extension with the Adobe Reader in File Explorer, but Edge still opens up the file in its useless no-option window.
Is there any way to disable it and have Adobe Reader present the file instead?
1. Can I disable Mail altogether? I am perfectly happy with 'Live Mail' - but not about constant duplication.
2. And, if I can't, where does all the incoming mail go, it I don't tediously delete each one?
3. If I do have to tediously delete each one, whilst I have found a 'trash' folder, I have yet to find an equivalent of 'Delete all'. Can't believe I have to go through the folder, tediously deleting each one in turn, yet again.
4. Or does it matter? Do they fall off the end of the plank automatically, in the course of time?
But I installed windows 10 build 10240 and my browser cant watch most videos on youtube cuz restricted mode always on. when I click off and save, it will refresh page and this mode still on.
I try with edge, chrome ( firefox has problem with certificate. cant visit too much site)
try to delete cookies, reset win10, upgrade from 8,1, clean install. and I cant disable this mode.
I tried to use vlc or kmplayer too and it still fail
My new laptop came with Edge. If I uninstall Edge, can I get normal IE back? Also, just how do you sort your favorites alphabetically? Nothing is obvious about this program at all. Much like Bing, I think Edge totally misses the mark (whatever that is).
View 9 Replieshow can we configure Microsoft Outlook 2013 or 2016 on Windows 10 operating system?
View 4 RepliesI tried right clicking on the file and shortcut but it only says Unpin from Start, and also tried dragging and dropping, but just shows a error symbol on my mouse and takes file back to its position on the desktop. It just randomly disappeared from my taskbar and was left on my desktop one day when I was logging in, and I can't get it back on the taskbar.
View 4 RepliesIn my favourites bar in Edge I have more favourites folders than there is space for across the screen so there is a down arrow on the right. When I click on this down arrow the remaining favourites folders appear. If I launch Edge, click on the down arrow and select one of these remaining folders, Edge closes down. However, if I launch Edge and select one of the folders in the favourites bar across the top of the screen this doesn't happen. And once I've selected one of these folders in the favourites bar across the top of the screen I can then click the down arrow and select one of these favourites and Edge does not close down.
And one other thing, every so often Edge starts flashing on and off. I wonder if that's connected with the above problem.
Can I uninstall Microsoft Edge and use another explorer with windows 10. Microsoft Edge will not work with java. I can't find microsoft edge in control panel.
View 3 RepliesInstalled windows 10 and it's pretty cool although when I used Microsoft Edge with a proxy and with Avast I must disable windows firewall to work with Microsoft edge.
Tried to use windows store needs that firewall must be up and running, weird thing .
Hang in Windows 10 when using Microsoft Edge?
It has happened to me two or three times, so I've had to stop using Edge.
It happens when I'm actively using Microsoft Edge for some time and then suddenly the all the system hangs. All frozen. I can't clic on anything and the clock in the taskbar is completely frozen. Can't do anything. I can see there is some disk activity ongoing because the HDD activity led flashes. Only solution is hard-reset.
When I right-click the Microsft Edge icon on either the Desktop or the Start Menu, I do not get the option to pin to the Taskbar, only the option to pin to Start Menu. Also, dragging the icon to the task bar gives an error symbol and does not work. However, other applications work just fine with the exception of Steam games.
View 9 RepliesI have a problem with Microsoft Edge. It won't save my passwords on sites, nor it will ask me to save passwords on sites. I have quite a few that were save previously with Windows 7, but obviously, not all of them have transferred to Windows 10. I have been to Settings, View advance settings, offer to save passwords in ON, unchecked it OFF, then back ON. No changes. I have about 10 passwords saved under Manage my saved passwords, but can't add any.
View 1 RepliesI'm using Windows 10 Pro, 64 Bit, and the "Top Sites" on the Startup page seems to have disappeared. I don't remember installing any software or drivers lately.
how to get the "Top Sites" back.
I'm trying to import all my currentbookmarks from I.E. Explorer into ME.
Google Chrome was the source of my initial bookmarks.
Here are the steps I performed.
1. Went to Google Chrome bookmarkmanager, exported a HTML file of my new bookmarks.
2. Launched Internet Explorer 11.
3. Manually deleted all my oldBookmarks in IE 11.
4. Imported HTML file into IE 11,
5. Launched Microsoft Edge.
6. Imported Bookmarks from IE 11 into Microsoft Edge.
When I examined my Bookmarks in ME, it appears many are missing. Basically, it looks to be an old version of Bookmarks from IE 11 that is being imported into ME.
Any new websites I bookmarked in Chrome within the past 2 year are not showing in ME favorites. I rarely used Internet Explorer as my Browser, and only did a full import 2 years ago. I understand IE 11is not being supported by Microsoft. But how do we get the latestBookmarks into Microsoft Edge after and upgrade if IE is my only bridge.
I tried to import from IE browser into ME browser, but that option has been disabled.
I upgraded to Windows 10 a month ago and now have the Microsoft Edge browser. Now every time I try to download a software program (anti-virus, CD burner etc) I get a message saying I'm not connected to the internet. I have tried everything! Not only can't I download anything, when I try to install the CD creator software I just purchased I also get a message saying it can't connect to the internet. I have tried changing my firewall settings, removing my anti-virus and trying to go back to Internet Explorer 10. Nothing works. Am I going to have to reinstall Windows 7 on my computer?
View 1 RepliesWhen I click the icon in task bar, EDGE search window will only stay open for about 5 seconds. Why?
View 4 RepliesI have just upgraded to Windows Ten and very impressed so far. I also really like Edge, but have a few issues.
1. The password manager does not work and neither does the autocomplete forms. They are both turned on in advanced settings and I have rebooted to no effect. I do not get offered to remember passwords and the "Manage passwords" is empty. These features work great on both Chrome and Firefox which I may have to revert to if this cannot be fixed.
2. The Home button if shown does not take to the Home page you have set, it takes you to the Edge Home page so I have had to add an link to my Home page on the favourites bar. I cannot see an option for a new tab to take you to you own home page it offers start or blank.
3. I cannot see a way to edit and rearrange the favourites bar as you could easily do with IE, Chrome or Firefox.
Microsoft Edge didn't come with a "Save As" feature when downloading something from the internet allowing us to change the name of the file as well as the location in which it is being saved. And I was hoping that with updates it would be added. However, I still don't see the feature, even after this November update.
Does this will ever be added? I have been using Edge since it came out, but if this continues, I will be switching back to IE.
I am not even sure the mail app is not already part of startup. It is not listed in my Task Manager Startup tab. Because I am completely ignorant on this subject
