Nov 7, 2015Running windows 10 pro here. I open iexplorer and open Hotmail and I went to create a new email to one of my contacts and noticed when I was typing in the email address that it didn't auto display from my contacts. I then clicked on the settings and selected 'People" and all I get is the beads just spinning for a while and then get "This page is temporarily unavailable.Funny thing when I open firefox and go into Hotmail I can see my contacts and when I select "People" it instantly displays all my contacts. What the heck changed in iexplorer for me yo lose all the contacts?

Nov 15, 2015As a longstanding WLM user recently switched to Thunderbird, I'm really trying to like the new Mail app as my permanent mail client. But I can't find contacts. Where are they?
Also, I want to export contacts to a database of some sort (CSV?) like I can do with Gmail so that I can organize and then import back to Mail App. If I can't find or export contacts then I'll need to stay with one of the vintage apps.
Browser/Email :: Cannot Import Contacts
Feb 10, 2016Finally managed to import my thousands of saved emails (had to buy a program to do it) but cannot get them to be sub-folders of the inbox, only down at the bottom as "Outlook data file". Cannot import contacts. I export to csv but they import blank, now I have about 100 blank contacts that this POS won't let me delete.I have 3 accounts, comcast, gmail, and outlook.com. All are IMAP accounts.
When I started this process hours ago, I was hoping the following could be done:
-Have one combined inbox
-Have all my saved local folders as a sub of that inbox
-Have a complete address book that I'm able to use and edit

Aug 2, 2015How to get the new win10 mail app to access my contacts or how to add an address book to the email client. I'm get mail through a pop3 optus server not gmail etc.
If I begin typing a name or email address in a new email the only addresses/ names that are there [autofill] are ones who I have received mail from, my contacts aren't there. [added csv file to contacts I exported from live mail before upgrading from win8.1] where are the contacts from received emails stored?, can I add my contacts there?
I notice that recieved email contacts aren't stored in my contacts app contacts folder. I would like to just use the win10 mail app than install something else.
Browser/Email :: Using Calendar / Contacts Within Outlook 2013
Aug 1, 2015I want to continue to use Outlook as my main email client (but the built-in app in Windows 10 is little more than a pretty toy, even my phone's email app is more powerful and configurable). I have Outlook 2010 installed on my PC and Outlook 2013 installed on my laptop (I prefer 2010 though), and I access about half a dozen POP3 accounts using both machines, using rules to transfer mails to multiple folders, etc.
The one (and thus far only) plus point I've found about the native Win10 mail/calendar app is that it syncs nicely with my contacts and calendar on my Android devices (via my Google gmail account, which I basically only use for syncing not for actually emailing, as I really don't need any more active email accounts!).
My question is how do I get Outlook 2010 or 2013 to use the new Windows 10 calendar? And ideally sync the contacts too. That way my PCs and my Android devices will all finally be in sync without having to fiddle around manually.

Nov 20, 2015I thought I'd install Windows 10 Threshold 2 (not to make the same mistake twice, on a laptop I hardly use this time) to see if the built-in Microsoft apps are now any better than they were in July. Disappointingly, with the exception of being able to turn off 'Conversation View', the Mail app is just as diabolically poor as it was back then. But on top of that, another thing I noticed this time is that when you type a name into the 'To:' field, it doesn't even look up that name / email address from your 'People' app contacts. The auto-complete feature only populates for people you've previously emailed.
So basically, if you haven't emailed someone, it won't show their name despite their details and email address being listed in the 'People' app.
Of course, another problem with not populating the auto-complete addresses from your address book is that if a contact changes their email address and you update their details in the 'People' app, the Mail app will still use the old email address in the autocomplete dropdown, causing you to keep emailing the wrong address.
Did Microsoft seriously release a Mail app that can't even look up names in your contacts list?

Jan 23, 2016I am having a problem whereby my default browser keeps changing from IE11 back to either Edge or blank. Why this might be happening or what program is causing it to change? I thought it maybe the Windows Auto Update that keep changing but am now not so sure of that since the last recorded update is back on 14th January and my default Browser got changed again last evening.
The only other programs that run regularly are Norton Internet Security and Norton Utilities. However, I have been through the settings of both of those programs and cannot detect anything that would indicate that they change the default Browser.
Also, in IE11 under the advanced tab I have ticked the option the "Tell me if Internet Explorer is not the default web browser" and yet (a) I do not get a notification and (b) the default browser keeps getting changed.
Browser/Email :: Chrome Browser Opening Pages After Sleep Mode
Nov 28, 2015After I upgraded to latest windows 10 build (1151) ,I seem to have a problem of Chrome opening the first several requested web pages after computer comes out of "sleep" mode. I get the page that says cannot connect . After I hit retry it finds it . Sometimes the web pages don't load properly ie no pictures , just a listing or the picture color is not right. After a reload it works fine. After the first few pages of problems everything works fine again. It's like Windows or Chrome is having some delays accessing the requested pages when starting from a sleep mode.

However, now after the upgrade and Edge there seems to be no availability to run it as admin. Aug 15, 2015Edge is a great browser! However one thing I really miss from IE is having my favorites sidebar always visible at all times. With Edge you have to select it EACH TIME and pin it to the window display. This becomes a real pain and seems unnecessary. Is it possible to configure the favorite's sidebar to be always on by default? A real extra would be to have it on the left hand side again like IE which seemed to have this facility/capability just right. The horizontal favorites across the top is useless because so few are visible. (No luck with other forums) else I'm going back to IE.

Aug 18, 2015When I first got Win 10, the Edge browser worked great but after a time it simply quit working. The opening screen with the icon comes up but then it goes back to my desktop. I can still use Explorer but Edge had some features I liked and I would like to go back to it before too long. I have seen some comments here about proxy servers and the like but I am not brave enough to tinker with that.

Oct 6, 2015I upgraded my computer to Windows 10, however I cannot play Flash content in Edge browser. It is enabled in the advanced settings in Edge and it is still not working, saying I have to update my Flash plugin, however it is supposed to be bundled with Edge.
I do not have a problem with Flash content in Chrome or IE11 browsers, but would like to be able to use Edge as well.
Now, I also encounter the following error message from Windows Update:
"Security Update for Internet Explorer Flash Player for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3087040) - Error 0x800f0922"
which I guess is related to the issue of missing Flash Player in my Windows.

Oct 16, 2015I mistakenly chose IE as the browser for my emails to open in when I imported my mails from outlook and I wish to change this to MS Edge. How to I go about this? Browser/Email :: Flash Videos Not Working With Edge Browser
Jan 30, 2016This problem has frustrated me to no end. For some reason, flash videos on websites like Gamespot, IGN and Gametrailers will not work with the Edge browser. All I get is a black screen with sound, or most of the time without any sound at all.
Here are some of the things I've tried already:
1) Updating video card drivers. I'm running the latest NVidia drivers, version 361.75
2) Used sfc /scannow and DISM commands. sfc /scannow finds the driver opencl.dll as corrupt, but that's a well known bug. I still can't view any videos regardless of whether I'm using the Microsoft or NVidia version of that .dll.
3) Reinstall the Edge browser using this video
4) Checked whether Adobe Flash player was turned on in Edge about a million times
5) Uninstalled all Windows 10 updates (including flash related ones) and then reinstalled them.
