Browser/Email :: How To Save Ebay Auction Bid To Favorites List
Feb 10, 2016
how to save a Ebay auction bid to Favorites List in Windows 10? In Windows 7 you could just right click on the Ebay auction bid site and save it to the favorites list. There you can keep tabs on this auction bidding. Not in Windows 10 that I have learned so for how to do.
I have lost all my Favorites in Edge. I have recovered a copy of the desired Favorites and have placed these favorites on my desktop as a file folder. The file structure has all the folders, and within each folder, the links to all the favorite websites. I have tried placing the contents of this file into the following location:
I understand that this is the default location for Edge Favorites. With the desired "Favorites" folder placed and verified in the above location and I open Edge and click on Favorites and all I see under Favorites are two folders "Favorites Bar" and "BookmarksBar" (as expected both currently empty). I had hoped to see also an expandable "Favorites" folder with all the subfolders. How to use the previous referenced Desktop file folder or its content to restore my Favorites in Edge.
Edge is a great browser! However one thing I really miss from IE is having my favorites sidebar always visible at all times. With Edge you have to select it EACH TIME and pin it to the window display. This becomes a real pain and seems unnecessary. Is it possible to configure the favorite's sidebar to be always on by default? A real extra would be to have it on the left hand side again like IE which seemed to have this facility/capability just right. The horizontal favorites across the top is useless because so few are visible. (No luck with other forums) else I'm going back to IE.
WINDOWS 10 PRO: Pursuant to the tutorial in Ten Forums, the FAVORITES folder in the EDGE browser is stored in the DataStore folder. Is that correct? Is the tutorial correct? My check of the folder indicates the tutorial was correct.
So I decided to give Edge another try, and seeing that I am still unable to directly import my favorites from Firefox I went around it by exporting them to a HTML file, importing them into IE and then into Edge.
Well only half of them ended up appearing in edge and I now have a ton of empty folders...so I would like to delete them all and start again but I cant find a way to completely remove them all.
After the "November update" to Windows 10, the Edge browser no longer uses a folder structure to store favorites. Instead, it now uses an Extensible Storage Engine (ESE) database. So, that means you can no longer just do a copy-n-paste in an attempt to export your favorites. I've created a demonstration project that reads from this ESE database and produces an HTML-based "bookmark.htm" file that can be used to import into other browsers (like IE, Chrome, etc.)take a look at this article for the technical details: URL....or if you're not squeamish about loading an EXE file from a hobbyist like me, you can download the executable install file from: URL...
IE allowed me to easily pin my favorites - which I used EVERY TIME I opened the browser - on the left side of the screen. This was incredibly easy and intuitive from the get go! NOW I CANT FIGURE OUT HOW TO DO THAT IN EDGE!
Do they even bother to survey end-users anymore, before they go messing around with a perfectly good browser?
How do I manage my favorites in the new Edge browser? I accidently moved a favorites folder into another favorites folder & I don't know how to get the folder out of the other folder?
I've been asked this a few times already and have always replied "It can't be done"
Anyhow, seeing how I didn't follow the instructions in my signature and have found myself corrupting my Windows system while heavily overclocking and stress testing the CPU on a custom water-loop, I have found myself wanting to export them to IE11 so that my MS account stores them for easy retrieval. (I have also just copied the folder to my backup drive too!)
So I wanted to work out how and this is my solution:
In File Explorer, navigate to your Edge Favorites:
Copy the links (aka favorites) to the folder [URL] favorites will now be in IE11 (If IE11 is currently open, you will have to close and re-open for the favorites to appear). If you want them to be imported to Chrome, Firefox or wherever, you can now import in the normal way.
I followed the steps I found, but it didn't work. From old W8 laptop onto a usb, then onto new W10 laptop. It says finished, and "you have successfully.........". But then I check and they are not there.
I have all my Favorites from IE 11 and Chrome in the Favorites bar in Microsoft Edge, but it shows the icons and titles with them, how do I get only the icons to show ?, would save a lot of space in the Favorites bar.
When I set up Win 10 a few days ago, I imported my IE settings into Edge. All my favorites are there, and the ones I had pinned to my favorites bar are there. But I can not seem to figure out, how to add a favorite to the favorites bar in Edge?
I did a big cleanup of all my Favorites in IE11, then deleted all my Favorites/Bookmarks in Chrome and Firefox and re-imported them from IE11 to make sure everything is up-to-date, at least on my primary Windows machine.
I'd like to do the same in Edge but I can't find an easy way to delete all of my favorites at once. I can only see how to delete folders one by one, a tedious chore since I have a lot of folders. Is there any way to delete all Favorites at once in Edge?
Once that's done, I need to understand how the browsers sync with each other. To my surprise, IE11 on my main PC apparently synced folders from Chrome on my Android phone. I don't know if Edge and/or Firefox are doing the same but I'm trying to start fresh with that favorites folder I cleaned up in IE11 with a little support from AM-Deadlink 4.7.
I currently have a combined set of links on the favorites bar. How do I get all the machines to sync to the same set of favorites? I've repeatedly tried deleting favorites from one machine or another but they keep coming back.
I have to many favorites and I do not like having to have them displayed on the side. I like edge but its current way of displaying favorites renders it useless for me. I want to use it because the newer browsers display web video better, but I don't know how to use it right now.
I don't know how favourites are supposed to work in Windoxs 10 but this is certainly not user friendly ! This is one of the reason I have instolled Google Chrome and don't use Edge
I've saved several Favorites sites using the little Star in Windows Edge, but after saving they disappear forever in Edge Black Hole.
Is there some magic trick dedicated to engineer to see the list of Favourite and select any ?
Recently updated to Windows 10 and found that Chrome now has a tendency to freeze so thought I'd give Edge a crack of the whip!
I imported all my Favorites but now realize I have far too many collected over the years and half of them are obsolete! Rather than painstakingly pruning them, I want to wipe the whole lot (just from Edge) and then repopulate Favorites manually.
(Also, can you not simply drag and drop from the Address Bar into the Favorites Bar as you can on Chrome?
I'm trying to import all my currentbookmarks from I.E. Explorer into ME.
Google Chrome was the source of my initial bookmarks.
Here are the steps I performed. 1. Went to Google Chrome bookmarkmanager, exported a HTML file of my new bookmarks. 2. Launched Internet Explorer 11. 3. Manually deleted all my oldBookmarks in IE 11. 4. Imported HTML file into IE 11, 5. Launched Microsoft Edge. 6. Imported Bookmarks from IE 11 into Microsoft Edge.
When I examined my Bookmarks in ME, it appears many are missing. Basically, it looks to be an old version of Bookmarks from IE 11 that is being imported into ME.
Any new websites I bookmarked in Chrome within the past 2 year are not showing in ME favorites. I rarely used Internet Explorer as my Browser, and only did a full import 2 years ago. I understand IE 11is not being supported by Microsoft. But how do we get the latestBookmarks into Microsoft Edge after and upgrade if IE is my only bridge.
I tried to import from IE browser into ME browser, but that option has been disabled.
On the Tor Browser ( a variant of firefox it's really easy to access BOOKMARKS (favourites).
On Firefox it's another step to get the bookmarks or is there something in configuration that I can use -- the bookmarks icon doesn't appear in the standard Firefox release (Windows).
I'd like to try Edge, but Edge won't even see Firefox as one of my installed browsers even though it is my default browser. I'm not going to use a browser that requires me to enter hundreds of sites one at a time. Any way to import FF favorites since it won't import html?
