View 4 RepliesI'm looking for the windows movie maker that came with windows 7, the HD one. Not windows live movie maker, that one sucked.
If that doesn't work, what is a nice easy one to use.
I want to use this to make AMV's. This involves taking seconds of clips or frames and piecing them together with a song or text somewhere.
Was running Win 8.1 and WMM worked great. Upgraded to Win 10 and now all I get is audio when trying to edit a video. Tried converting the file to WMV file and got the same result. Audio only, no video. These videos are shot from my phone then transferred onto my laptop. VLC plays them just fine.
Specs:
HP pavilion DV6
Win 10 x64
8gb Ram
AMD A6
I'd like to do some basic editing whether is be with WMM or some other free editing software.
Experiencing this when opening Movie Maker?...I wonder if something was corrupted during the upgrade?..is it possible to uninstall and reinstall Security Essentials? I've noticed an MS "FIXIT" tool as well...
View 10 RepliesOK. Movie Maker is not there BUT I can't find anything that could take it's place. The goal is to be able to import videos, edit and burn them. There is nothing in 10 that I can find.
I am guessing this is why my videos from external HD backup came in WITHOUT the video and only audio??
I am not able to burn a Photo DVD in Windows 10.
I had to save the photos on a portable drive and then save them to the desktop of my laptop which has Windows 7 Pro
I burned one with Windows 7 and noticed it seemed to burn at full speed. Is it worth using a program like imgburn which allows you to select slower burn speeds, perhaps resulting in fewer installation problems?
View 9 RepliesWhen I open Media Player it asks me to connect an external burner. I thought you could burn to cds with Media Player, previous system Windows 7 Home.
View 9 RepliesDownloaded MemTest and when I right click on the .iso to burn to disc the option is not in the menu. I downloaded it on another Win10 machine with the same results, right click on the .iso does not have an option to burn to disc. Another .iso file in my downloads (Decrypt) has the burn to disc option on right click.
Both files are .iso and show as disc image. Why the memtest .iso does not have a burn to disc option? It's downloaded on two different computers so that pretty much eliminates a computer problem and another .iso file will burn to disc on both machines.
If I was to make a complete image of my system warts and all. What would be the best way to create it?The media creation tool kit or something else?
View 7 RepliesIf I use Windows USB/DVD tool or Rufus to burn the Windows 10 ISO to my USB drive, would I be able to use the USB drive anymore, i.e. deleting files and putting other ones?
View 3 RepliesNow that my XP machine has died I am using my Win 7 upgraded to Win 10 and having issues with burning music CD's.
Receive this message as disc is ejected: Windows Media Player cannot burn the files. If the burner is busy, wait for the current task to finish. If necessary, verify that the burner is connected properly and that you have installed the latest device driver.
Some of the things I have tried/verified with no luck:
Latest driver: check (~10 times)
Busy? I don't know what would be trying to use it - no files in explorer waiting to burn
Connected properly----would hope so but not opening it up just yet
Ran the onboard troubleshooter which made it the default disc player (only one in laptop)
No, have not tried another Mfg. disk yet
Have tried to burn a 'data' CD with no luck
Just tested making a DVD (Roxio) and does not show up as a DVD when reinserted.
Was able to play a commercial music CD even rip it.
I've been getting the BSOD with the error message KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE (no numeric error code) and have tried to fix myself but with no success. I've attempted to manually update drivers, this appears to make no difference. The BSOD has been happening when I try and burn large files to dvd using the share - burn to disc feature in file explorer. I've read that this particular BSOD can be memory related so was suspecting that, it seems although the computer gets a little overwhelmed then BOOM, BSOD appears.
View 3 RepliesWant to snap a photo from a movie to use it as a wallpaper, how to HD SS?
View 1 RepliesI bought a DVD from Amazon. When I click the DVD drive, it opens a folder with a bunch of files that cannot be opened, When I right click it and press open autoplay I get a message telling me to download a dvd player from the store.
View 1 RepliesHave my computer hooked to my LG TV via HDMI cable. When I watch a movie it keeps stopping every so often because the buffer cannot keep up with the movie. Am using a Linksys N router with an HP All in One 23-Q129 computer.
View 19 RepliesWindows Media Player is still in Windows 10. In Windows 7 and 8, it played a DVD movie. So, I pop in Lord of the Rings, and Windows 10 cannot play DVDs. It can read all the files, but does not have native support for playing a DVD movie with Windows Media Player or any built-in software.
Of course, I download VLC Media Player and watched it, but seriously Microsoft... Why? What is the legitimate reason for removing such a feature like that. It would have required no work to keep it.

When I'm watching YT or move / tv series on VLC sometimes I've got 1 sec PC freeze, but when I'm playing, everything is OK.
I am using the "Cast to Device" option to play my movies on my TV. The problem is that when i play an mkv file the video lags and stutters.
The same video plays fine on the same computer when i use the Samsung Allshare program to stream the video to the TV.
Is Microsoft mkv support in beta stage? Is this a known issue?
Edit: Turns out that the issue affects avi files as well. What can cause this lagging?
since I upgraded my daughter has been unable to login to Movie Star Planet. when she logs in it just hangs and sits there and never loads.
View 2 RepliesHow can I play mov files on windows 10...
View 1 RepliesMy videos all play upside down when using VLC. They are OK on Movie player. I am using the latest VLC download.
View 1 Repliesi got a H97 gaming 3 gigabyte MB and i get a sound (like a robot) on windows 10 after a few minutes of gaming or watching a movie , if i switch my headset (HS40 raptor) to another USB it works fine for a few minutes then the sound becomes weird again.
View 1 RepliesI'm having for a while a BSOD Bad pool caller. All the drivers and software in my OS are up to date. I don't think it's a memory problem, the Windows Memory Diagnostic gave me no errors, I also tried the SFC /SCANNOW to try fixing the file systems, and also chkdsk /r to check and the disk integrity, but everything seems cool. I did all types of virus/malware scans with mcafee and malwarebytes, my system still seems clean.
I'm using a ACER Aspire E5 - 511 - P29D: Intel Pentium quad core processor N3540.
It doesn't happen at a particular moment, I can be browsing on the Internet or watching a movie. And it's not frequent, it happens every 3 or 4 days. It started 6, 7 weeks ago, after I did a upgrade to Windows 10. I haven't made any change to my computer yet.
Whenever I'm watching movie or web browsing, my window just crashed and showing me Kernel_Security_Check_Failure .... I can open files like normal, typing in Microsoft Word etc. Just only web browsing and movie apps that crashed my Window.
