CCleaner Disappeared From Computer After Update
Dec 29, 2015I went to run CCleaner after the last update, and it had disappeared. I paid for that! I'm more than angry. Windows 10 has been a pain since I got it.

View 5 RepliesAfter installing the early January updates, I can no longer mount/linkto/attach my two NAS drives. They are connected through the same switch that my PC is on. I have updated the NAS firmware with reboot, and restarted the switch.
The Advanced Sharing Settings are set to "ON".
NB the volumes are mountable from my Mac under Yosemite.
I want to update to windows 10, and i reserved my update with the app "get windows 10" a few weeks ago, but since the 29 of july, it appears that when i go in windows update, the reservation has disappeared, altough in the app it still visibile, but as you can see the last update of the app, was on the 29 of july. Aniway, i don't want to force my updating to windows 10, but i want to receive it automatically just when it is ready, but i hope that this problem won't let me update. What could i do to get the update automatically even if in windows update, there is no more the reservation? Can i fix it? It seems like the app is stuck ( get windows 10 app).
View 1 RepliesAfter I updated to the latest Windows 10 "upgrade" (Build 1511, 10586) released yesterday thru Windows Update, my system shows only the Wi-Fi icon on Taskbar instead of the Ethernet Network icon which it used to display earlier. I have a wired broadband connection, and keep my Wi-Fi Adapter settings "Disabled". Yet, the icon shows the Aeroplane mode of Wi-Fi icon on Taskbar, instead of the Network icon it used to display before this update. At times my wired BB connection tends to become unstable, so I need to keep track if the connection is down, before I do some critical activity on Internet, like large download (which I may be unable to Resume), or Netbanking or online shopping, etc. How do I get the Network icon instead of the Wi-Fi icon on the Taskbar in the new Build 1511 ?

View 5 RepliesRight after I upgraded from Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 10, I downloaded the new version of Ccleaner. I noticed that the following entry kept showing up in the registry cleaner:
"ActiveX/COM Issue InProcServer32C:Program Files (x86)HPCommonAclmControlProxy.dll HKCRCLSID{047466F1-82AE-455A-AFC4-D3AC463FBF6B}".
Under Windows 7 I never saw that entry pop up in the Ccleaner registry cleaner. I got sick of seeing it so I saved a copy and deleted the entry. However, it came right back again. Every time I deleted the entry, it came back.
My computer is running fine and this entry does not show up as malware in MBAM, MBAE or Windows Defender. However, I am concerned as to why it keeps showing up in the Ccleaner registry cleaner. Emsisoft lists the file as being safe and a legit Hewlet Packard file and I do have an HP printer.
Is this behavior due to the upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10?
I want to always Permanently Delete (Shred) files and folders on my PC so that no one can recover those data. Now I heard for a program called Eraser which allows us to shred files/folders by clicking right click of mouse on the files/folders and then choosing Shredding (Permanently Delete).
So my question is: can I normally delete all files/folders which means that those files/folders are now in Recycle Bin. And then I just open Ccleaner and I set Secure Deletion to Very Complex Overwrite (35 passes) and I also check 3 boxes there (Wipe Alternate Data Streams, Wipe Cluster Tips and Wipe MFT Free Space) and I also check Local Disc (C) and Local Disk (D) boxes and then I just click Run Cleaner and now all the files from Recycle Bin will be Permanently Deleted (Shredded) and no one will be able to recover those files? If this is true, then I don't need Eraser to permanently delete (shred) files/folders.
Whenever I run Ccleaner on my Win 10 PC, I lose my newsfeed from the Edge Browser, Why? It also does the same thing if I run Wise care 365
View 2 RepliesI have a new HP Pavillion desktop PC. I downloaded Ccleaner today and while tinkering, I "Fixed" a few registry problems . It is unable to access the registry to restore using the Merge option in the context menu. I tried typing in the whole path to the file at the CMD prompt with the same results.
View 4 RepliesI ran CCleaner today (Great program by the way!), like I do every couple weeks, and it said that edge and internet explorer needed to close to finish. Thing is, I use neither. So Do they auto run in the background? How can I keep them from starting?
View 9 RepliesHow can I stop CCleaner from skipping cleaning files in Edge? Is there a setting in Edge that's stopping CCleaner from cleaning the files?
View 7 RepliesI updated my PC last night and when it was over, I shut it down. This morning, when I woke up and started it, I tried entering my PIN and it told me that it was incorrect. I tried entering my MS password, which I know it's correct, and it told me the same thing. Now I can't log in on my computer.

View 2 RepliesI've been working on my wife's computer that has had Win10 for the last several months. Her computer completely refuses to update Windows anymore. The updates will get stuck downloading at 0% even overnight and it uses up so much of the system resources that the computer slows to a crawl, taking ages to respond to any action, if it does at all.
Things I've tried:
1) Clearing out the Software Distribution folder
2) System restore
3) Windows update troubleshooter
4) Completely reinstalling Win10 via the Reset option in the Recovery menu (choosing to delete all files and programs)
The computer still locks up when trying to download any Win10 updates. The computer is a reasonably new desktop with 16GB of RAM and an AMD 8-core processor (I can get the more specific specs off of it if necessary).
I restarted Windows 10, and it started installing updates. The computer restarted a couple times saying it was installing updates, and eventually it said that there was a problem installing the updates, and that it was reverting changes. It hung on this is screen for about five minutes, and then (my arm touched the keyboard in this instant, not sure if any buttons were pressed) I got a blue screen, with the error code disappearing too fast for me to read and remember it. Now when my computer attempts to start up, it shows the gigabyte 3d bios splash screen, goes to a black screen with a command prompt-esque cursor blinking, maybe five or so lines from the top. At this point it seems the only input it will accept is ctrl-alt-del, which restarts it and leads to the same outcome.

View 2 RepliesAfter downloading Windows 10, my internet speed went significantly down, from 35 mbps to 4 mbps. I recovered my original Windows 8.1, hoping it was the new Windows that was causing the problem, but my computer is still very slow compared to what it used to be. I know the problem is in my computer because the three other PC's in my house are all working at normal speeds. I ran a virus scan with no luck. Could the Windows 10 upgrade have installed something that's still slowing down my internet?
