I have a weird problem related to the calender. I upgraded my Lumia 1520 to W10M and made entrys in the calendar. They are made into my Outlook calendar.
Still after 24 hours, the entrys wont appear in the Windows 10 desktop calendar. I also checked in Outlook 2016. No entrys. First I thought the Windows 10 Mobile didn't sync but than I was checking online under calendar.live.com and everything is there. I compared with other entrys, but can't find a different or wrong option.
When I made calendar entrys with Windows Phone 8.1 everything displayed fine and synced. Now why other devices don't like my W10M entrys except the browser version. What can I do?
Forget to check the calendar in Outlook 2016. It's also there, but still not in the app. I like to use the app, because of live tile.
My Windows 10 Calendar app won't show any events older that 3 or 4 weeks. It is synced with Outlook and a Gmail account. Those events do show on my phone and if I go to the individual websites.
I am having some trouble with Mail and Calendar app on Windows 10. I've just updated my OS.
Earlier today my wife synced her gmail account without any problems, the question is: we cant remove it, double clicking over the account don't show the option to remove.
Also, when I try to add my microsoft account i get an error message: 0x8000ffff
I'm playing around with the calendar app and can't get it to sync. I have put different reminders in calendar on my desktop, laptop and Win 10 phone. None of the reminders show up on the other devices. Mail works Ok. What do I need to do to get the reminders to show up in all devices? All devices are logged into my MS account.
After last patch tue, Calendar, mail, alarms/clock will not start, show tiles, but won't start. (Insider 10586). Upgraded my other partition from 10240 to 10586, (NOT insider) all is fine.
I have used my laptop to type in the calendar event but I want to sync with my Google Calendar across my Android device using my Google account. How Can I do it?
I did two upgrades - one 10 home x86 and the other 10 home x64 - and they completed without error. The only issue I'm seeing on both of them is I can't re-enable a number of auto-starting items that I disabled before running the upgrade. I used the Ccleaner startup manager to turn them off; now when I run Ccleaner the disabled items show however when I enable them they don't stay enabled. I ran System Configuration (aka Msconfig) and it is showing "selective startup", however changing to "Normal startup" also doesn't stick. I've been able get a few of the apps to auto-start again by toggling their "start with windows" option, but the other apps don't have that setting. Uninstall/reinstall would probably fix them, but I was hoping for a simpler way.
I can't figure out how to add new favorites to my favorites bar since going to windows 10. I click on the star to add and click on "add" but nothing happens.
I recently upgraded my windows 7 laptop to windows 10. It would seem to have been successful. When I plug in a USB memory stick OR a USB external drive - the device shows twice in the directory. As I type this, I have a USB external hard drive plugged in. The directory list shows 2 entries 'E Drive' - when both are expanded, each has full details of the disks content!
Trying to share some folders between two PC's on my network.I can in one direction but not in the other. And it's the other direction that I need it to work. The Issue appears to be the HTPC. When I run the network diagnostic tool on it I get,"one or more network protocols are missing on this computer" .I ran the trouble shooter for all the options under "Incoming connections" in each case it says the issue is resolved. However nothing has changed even after a resart. If you run the diagnostic straigt after the fix the error is still present so it's never fixed at all.I also tried disabling net bios of tcp/ip as per this recommendtion said Network Protocols
running netsh winsock reset and netsh int ip reset with no change after a restart
This URL...appears to be the same issue as mine with a possible solution. My only concern is that it requires deleting parts of the registry and i'm worried of the possible consequences. Is there no *.reg file out there that can fix this in a safer way ? Or another safer method to attempt this fix ?
So, if you go to SETTINGS > SYSTEM > NOTIFICATIONS & ACTIONS > SELECT WHICH ICONS APPEAR ON THE TASKBAR.It gives a list of all the icons you can make visible one taskbar ... including ones I have uninstalled and will never use again! It even has the "Get Windows 10" option on there, even though I've now upgraded to Windows 10. I mean C'MON, MAN!
Is there any kind of hack or tweak that will let me delete these unwanted entries and clear the list up? (I've attached a picture with a couple of these unwanted entries circled.)
I've recently upgraded from Windows XP to 10 (64-bit), and the .reg files I've crafted for adding custom file associations don't work anymore. What's changed? How do I make them work again? Sample:
Code: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00[HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareClasses.pdf]@="user.sumatra.pdf"[HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareClassesuser.sumatra.pdf]@="PDF Document"[HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareClassesuser.sumatra.pdfDefaultIcon]@="F:BINSumatraPDFSumatraPDF.exe,1"[HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareClassesuser.sumatra.pdfshell][HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareClassesuser.sumatra.pdfshellopen][HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareClassesuser.sumatra.pdfshellopencommand]@=""F:BINSumatraPDFSumatraPDF.exe" "%1""
I use my Favorites Bar in IE11 to hold a boatload full of links. I think it is easier to click on the >> and go to a new link than clicking on the Star to go to a new link.
I decided to use the Favorites bar in EDGE but I forgot that you cannot reorder the entries to put what I consider my most used favorites at the front of the Favorites bar. So I thought I would delete the Favorites Bar folder from my Favorites and create a new one from scratch with my most used favorites. I followed the links to get to the Favorites but the Favorites Bar folder is not there! Where it went? Can I delete it if I find it or at least delete all but the entries I want? Or if those options are not available, how I can delete all of the entries in my Favorites bar without having to do them one at a time?
I've been having network issues recently, mainly an inconsistent network connection, and I've noticed that while most of the time it works fine, on certain routers, it will immediately disconnect from the router. Furthermore, when it stays connected and it cannot get Internet, nor ping anything, and I run the troubleshooter, I get the error of "Windows Socket Registry entries missing". I know that this was a well documented bug back a couple months ago, and I'm wondering, has Microsoft just not gotten around to fixing it yet? Also worthy of note is that my "Connect automatically" settings for Wireless networks are no longer being saved.
I bought a new Acer Aspire desktop about 6 weeks ago and immediately upgraded from Win 8.1 to 10. I have intermittent problems with accessing both Gmail and Facebook, often having to switch browsers, shut down all browsers and reopen, or reboot the computer. Even when I gain access it doesn't last for more than an hour or so before I start to have trouble following links, viewing pictures, etc. I have AVG (full version) installed and have checked Firewall options. I ran Malwarebytes once and that worked for a while (deletion of registry entries??) but then the problem recurred.
After a system refresh of Windows 10 all external disk storage drives, Micro SD and USB are listed twice in file explorer. This is a common problem, reported many times in forums and community support web sites. Could a solution be to reload file explorer. Is this possible and where would I find the download?
Ever since I changed over to Windows 10, I have had a problem with using the "Safe Sender" option in Windows Live Mail. Everything else works great, but when I send an email address to Safe Sender, or add it manually, the name goes in the list but won't stay there if WLM is restarted. That is, the next time WLM is brought up again, the recent additions are missing again. It is as if the Safe Sender additions were only stored in temporary memory that is wiped out every time WLM is restarted.
I have repaired Windows Essentials in "Programs and Features" twice - to no avail.
Nothing submitted in Safe Sender will stay permanently on the list since Windows 10.
Upgrading from win 8.1 Pro to win10. Seemed to be going well and then saw lost internet connection in systray. Troubleshooting came up with "windows sockets registry entries required for network connection are missing". I can connect to the internet but not to the LAN.
Problem trying to connect to internet on laptop, but all working as normal on desktop.
Investigations revealed....one or more Network Protocols are missing on this computer, also Windows sockets registry entries required for network connectivity are missing....this on both Ethernet and wireless but they had been working perfectly since the update last week.
My laptop supposedly required "Internet connections Package Version 3.0 Publisher Microsoft Windows."
After messing about for an hour without success I loaded the 1511.. ISO.. knowing that I could not connect to the internet to download anything, this seemed to solve the problem, (fingers crossed) I can only assume this made the internet connection possible.
