View 12 RepliesI'm running Office 2003 in Windows 10 (upgraded from Windows 7) with no visible issues.
Except that when I want to save a Word document using "Save As" it prompts me for all sorts of unsuitable locations...My Music, My Pictures, My Videos, and some random programs which somehow landed up in the "Documents" folder. None of the shortcuts I'd like to see there (and which are in the folder, because I put them there!) show up. What to do?
Since i have upgraded to Win 10 i can no longer save any documents i create with MS Word.I try to save and this error messages pops up every time, and now i cant save any projects i create.

I'm getting two similar error messages when I try to open both Outlook and Word....
(Outlook / Word) could not create the work file. Check the temp environment variable.
Outlook is not opening at all, and Word will open at the second or third "OK" click on the error message.
I've spent the last 24 hours editing the registry, for both programs based on advice found online, but nothing has worked.
I'm using the Office 2013 versions of both programs (version 15 Outlook). How the registry should look for both programs, as this is preventing em from working (I'm self employed and use both programs all the time).
I saw that there's a workaround using IE, but it's not on my computer (only Edge). This keeps crashing when I try to open it, and I can't seem to get a download of IE, as Microsoft assume I have it already.
I tried a system restore several times but for some reason it won't work - I was even so desperate to fix it. I tried resetting the OS, but this also failed.
Add this to the problems of saving files in Word caused by Windows 10, and I have to say that for me, it wasn't a good choice to upgrade.
After upgrading to Windows 10, I can't open Word and Excel attachments in Outlook now. Why? How to fix this?
View 1 RepliesI tried to do a search but it didn't come up with much. where the Save/SaveAs/Open dialogs don't open and instead the app crashes? I've seen it in Notepad, Paint and Word. If I kill all explorer.exe processes, and then launch for example Notepad from Task Manager, the issue goes away, but as soon as I reboot, it returns.
View 1 RepliesI left an unsaved word 2016 doc open last night and this morning it was gone. It's not coming up under the manage document/recover unsaved documents approach. is there anything else I can try?
View 2 RepliesI just had window ten loaded by a computer guy this week and I just tried to open a document and was unable to open ANY documents. I noticed word is not on my computer anymore (it was on my old XP) Is it because all my documents are in word?

View 1 RepliesMy Computer came with Word 2013 installed on it and I have been looking for a way to scan a Document or Article directly into the Word 2013 program but I can't find a way to do it. In Word 2010 you could Customize and make a Keyboard Shortcut by selecting InsertImagerScan. In Word 2010 I made this shortcut by using the CTRL+8 keys and I could scan directly into Word 10 by using that key combination. I tried to set up the same Keyboard Shortcut option in Word 2013 - The InsertImagerScan is available in Word 2013 but I can't get it to work. How to Scan Directly Into Word 2013?
View 1 RepliesThe company I work for recently upgraded our computers to Windows 10.
My boss receives a Word document from our supplier every month. Before we had new computers, he used to print this off each time with no problems. However, when he clicks print now, nothing happens. The printer dialogue box appears for a second but nothing prints out and it is not left in the print queue.
He has forwarded the email with the Word document to myself and other colleagues and we all have been able to print it with no problems. So I thought it must be something wrong with his printer. However, he is able to print anything else. We have printed other Word documents, Excel docs, PDFs etc.
I copied the content of the document that he can't print onto a blank new Word document to try and print it. However, the same happens...It seems there is something in the actual document that is stopping the printer from printing it?
How do I get Word 2013 to do voice recognition. I don't really want to use Contra if that is avoidable. I think Contra uses Edge and Norton does not want me to do that.
View 1 RepliesI have a long Word file created with Word 2013 on a PC.
I often drop pictures in the file using the Windoes 8 snipping tool, After I installed Windows10, the pictures appear as an empty box. The text looks fine, but there are no more pictures.
Can I dictate information to a word document for printing?
View 1 RepliesI did the install yesterday - no problem. When I tried to open Word and Excel today, they were empty. All of my files were gone! Can I get them back?
View 1 RepliesIn my switch from Windows 7 to 10 I lost MS Word and I really need it. Tried to adjust to Open Writer, but it doesn't work for my specific application.
I do not want to pay for a new MS Word at this time.
Any way to eliminate the error messages below when my neighbor opens Word, Excel or Powerpoint.
Background: I upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10. All went well and there were no problems. They had Office XP with Frontpage (yes that is old) loaded on Windows 7 and it worked fine. When you opened it there were no error messages after the upgrade was completed.
About a week later they wanted a clean install on the laptop because it had been awhile since they ever did that. I do a clean install, Windows 10 Activated successfully so now it was time to reload the applications.
After we loaded Office XP on the machine we started getting theses messages at the point it was loading. Eventually you would get to the application and it was fully functional.
I put the screen shots in the picture included in this post......
I'm running Windows 10 64-bit and noticed one day when opening my start menu to open up word that in the programs list (now called "all apps" for some reason) the launcher for Microsoft Office 2013 Word wasn't in the folder labeled "Microsoft Office" but rather, it was under the "W" section as its own program. I went into the file location, and all the applications are in a folder there, but for some reason in the start menu, it's not in the Microsoft Folder. This bugs me, and I can't find any way to edit the start menu's folders/programs etc. in Windows 10. Before I continue, I must say that I'm a little biased toward the older versions of Windows, and am rather dissatisfied with the way Microsoft is heading.
View 7 RepliesI've just updated to Windows 10 and found it impossible to print a document from Microsoft Word. When I press the "print" logo, or "Ctrl.P" I get a dialog box titled "Save Print Output as" with no facility to actually print. I've tried all the usual remedies... swearing, invoking the Almighty, banging my head on the table and threatening the computer with death...all to no avail.
There's probably something very simple that I've missed, but it still eludes me. Why do they mess about with something that has worked perfectly well up to now? All I want is to be able to print a doc. when I press "Print" ... is this too much to ask?
I have Office 365 and Windows 10. Every time I open Word 2013 I get the UAC query. Is there any way to get this to stop?
It doesn't happen with any other Office apps.
I have a problem where all my Office 2013 documents (word and Excel) disappeared after migrating to Windows 10. Microsoft support just say that they have gone without a trace. Not much support there. Fortunately I have a 99% backup but I now do not trust Windows 10 not to lose more. I think there is a bug in the migration but cannot get the message to Microsoft
View 2 RepliesI recently upgraded from windows 8.1 to windows 10. I can no longer print word or excel files since the upgrade yet the printer works fine, other files such as from Acrobat Reader print fine. When I print something flickers on the screen but too fast to read, and the job does not show up in my print q. The troubleshooter shows everything is working fine. I have tried printing new files and old archived files and nothing prints in Excel, yet the program otherwise works fine. What can I try to resolve this?
View 1 RepliesAfter installing Windows 10, I reopened some Word documents that have been an ongoing project for the past 8 years. They are long and complex documents including images, artwork and Chinese characters. I found that the formatting of these documents has been completely ruined! Everything has been moved around, some characters have been layered onto of one another and to top it off, the two fonts used for the entirety of the documents have been changed to another plainer font.
After checking the Word fonts, lots of them have disappeared, including the ones I use, and when I tried to import one of the old fonts in from a back up file, Word simply did not recognise it! Does Windows 10 automatically update to a newer version of Word when you install it? Is there any way to revert back to the way these documents were before the update? Manually reformatting them will take an estimated 1-2 years of work I tried looking at doing a system restore but there are no pre-saved restore points so haven't had any luck there, don't even know if it would work anyway..
I'm using Windows 10. When I try to open a word document or want to write something I get the message Microsoft word has stopped working. I've tried one or two things that it said to do in windows support but to know avail.
