View 1 RepliesI've never had a working version of Mail on Windows 10. It fails to find my exchange account, which is hosted by Microsoft. Also, any attempt to add any other account results in "Something went wrong" Error code 0x80040154. Seems odd none of my accounts will add.
View 2 RepliesIn Mail I have two accounts. One is my personal MSN account and the other is a Exchange account with my former employer. Obviously the former employer has deactivated my account.
I want to remove the Exchange account. It currently is giving "attention required" I looked at the post to remove an account. When I go to settings under this mail account I only have two (links)options:
1 Fix account
2 Change settings
Neither of these are active. I do not have a option to delete the account.
When I first loaded windows 10 everything worked great now I can't get my email through the mail app. I try to sync it and after awhile I get the message error code 0x8007274D.
View 3 RepliesI've configured several e-mail accounts in Mail. Three of them are Microsoft Outlook accounts and two are Gmail accounts. For each account I've set Mail to:
(a) Fetch new messages as they arrive
(b) Download messages from all time
There is no other special setting. However, Mail never seems to fetch anything automatically as they arrive. In fact, I always receive my e-mail on my phone long before they show up in my inbox. As a test, for most of yesterday and today I waited about an hour after messages arrived in my phone, and each time I found that until I had manually synced the account, the messages did not appear in Mail.
Some additional information : I am certain that my Internet connection is working, because I get Skype messages in real time; I am sure my computer has the correct drivers, because not only did I install everything from the manufacturer's site, I even ensured that there were no errors in Device Manager; my computer has plenty of RAM and CPU horsepower. There is no reason for Mail not to sync except if it has a bug.
For months I have had a problem on my Windows Phone where when I sync my account manually it pops up with an error (and does sync) saying it's not been synced for 2 months (which is not true). My other two accounts don't have this issue. It was never a problem on the PC (Win 8). However, on Windows 10 Mail app I'm getting errors with that account (not the others though). It showed error 80070490 and referenced Windows Phone, even though I'm on a PC.
View 3 RepliesMy mail app won't auto sync in Windows 10. I am logged in with my windows ID but my mail I primarily use is from my ISP. So I set it up and all emails came through, it works. Apart from auto sync, I have it set to every 15 mins but it doesn't do it. If I launch the mail app later on it won't automatically pull in my new emails, I have to force a manual refresh all the time. I have changed the sync settings about but nothing makes it work. I googled around and some suggestions were to ensure privacy settings looked correct, which they are. Am I missing something obvious here? The mail app works but only on a manual refresh basis.
View 1 RepliesTrying to set up my outlook in the Win 10 mail app...have all settings enter3ed correctly...including Outlook password for my cox email account...but every time I try to sync...sync window 10 just spins..Bigger issue is if I check the password for my outlook (Cox) account...the number of characters has doubled in Win 10 Mail settings ??My Outlook account for this mail box has 9 characters...works fine in Outlook 2003...
But when I check the password in the mail app...more than 12 characters-*'s show up in Win 10 app for password.Have deleted and added outlook mail pop a number of times...but after 'save'...I always get a much longer 'password'(*****etc) in settings than was entered in setup ?
To Sync your email to Outlook after doing some email maintenance, hit the refresh button. I have attached a view of the button for reference. Note if you also are looking to manage your folders from Windows Mail, I have found that I need to do that from within Outlook. Unless someone has found another way....
View 1 RepliesUpdated to Windows 10 from Windows 8,1 on a Dell computer. Have been getting error code of 0x800706be on for Windows Mail, People, and Calendar. All worked fine with Windows 8.1. This is the only issue with Windows 10.
View 2 RepliesI've upgraded my HP Envy Ultrabook with preinstalled Windows 8 to Windows 10 about a month ago. All works enough smoothly - except the intrinsic Windows Mail & Calendar apps. They don't sync their contents automatically, even with my main Microsoft account linked to my Outlook.com email!
I tried different mailbox sync settings ("as items arrive", "every 15 minutes", etc.) - nothing works. I tried to disconnect my local account from Microsoft account, and even created a new user from scratch - no result again.
The auto-sync also does not work for other mail accounts, not only for Outlook.com. Sometimes I even get the following error when trying to sync manually .....
Does microsoft assume everyone is a computer wizard? I've finally managed to import my other email addresses into my mail app but no matter how many times I tweak the settings in privacy etc. I keep getting message "not synced yet". How I can resolve this?
View 2 RepliesI have 2 computers both running Windows 10, one of which is brand new. When I setup the new computer, I signed in using Microsoft account, expecting the new computer to sync the settings from the old one. But instead, the new computer's default settings overwrote existing settings on the old computer, which is just dumb.
Because of some hardware issues, I've had to replace the new computer and setup a new one again. Now I really don't want the same thing happening again. So is there a way to make sure my new Windows 10 only receive settings from the old one?
when I change my sync setting of Gmail in windows 10 mail app, ie; sync mails from any time, it stop synchronizing the mails . It happens both in Gmail normal emails as well as gmail app mails.
View 2 RepliesI am logged in to my Microsoft Account and am trying to add an email account to the Mail app by following Brink's tutorial Mail app - Add or Delete Account in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums. When I get to step 9 and enter an email address and password, I get a message saying "We couldn't find info for that account. .....". This happens for each account on my ISP, Cox.net.
There is one email account shown by Mail and it is the same address I use to log into my MS Account.
For some time now I have been unable to use one of my email accounts in Windows Mail because it keeps saying the account settings are out of date and when I try to fix it I am unable to as the password field in the box that comes up for verifying my identity doesn't work and I am unable to enter the password, thus cannot fix the account.
Another account in Mail recently also said it was out of date, but it was no problem to fix it. The box for verifying my identity looked different than the above box and I could enter my password. Why is it different with this other account and how can I fix it?
Just for fun, I am trying to set up my pop3 email account on the application called Mail in Windows 10. I have succeeded in having my MSN and Gmail accounts working in the application, but when attempting to set up my pop3 mail, it will show a triangle with an exclamation point inside it. When I click on it, it opens up an Attention Required with a User Name and Password. Each time I type in the password for the pop3 email account, it still fails to sign on and says "Your [provider] account settings are out-of-date."
I have also tried adding the account under settings>accounts>your email and accounts, and it still says attention required. when I click on manage, the password is too long for it to be the account password. I try retyping in the account password and saving it but it still changes.
I can't find it. There are only other options..

View 1 RepliesI can't see how to set up 'Other account POP, IMAP' in the Win 10 mail app - or rather I can see how to set up accounts and either the app is faulty or I must be missing something, because I've tried using the advanced settings as recommended in the Ten Forums tutorial on the mail app (Mail app - Add or Delete Account in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums) but I don't see anywhere to put the actual email address for the account I'm trying to set up.
Likewise if I do it step by step setup from the 'Other account POP, IMAP' link in setup although I can put the email address in this eventually gets overwritten by my username when setup is finished - I have my own domain and my hosts username format is totally different to my email address - e.g. the mail format would be 'someone@mydomain.com' whilst the username would be in the format 'mydomain.com_someone' - the app appears to assume that mail address and username are going to be the same as when setup is completed the app shows my username as my email address. I've set up an ActiveSync account fine but I'm stumped on setting my personal mailbox up.
After adding a POP account on Windows 10 mail app, where is the pst file created and saved?

View 2 RepliesWith the new W10 email client, either with my main account or a second Outlook account, it always picks a random alias for the 'From' address when creating a new email. In the web mail settings I have each account set to send from its primary address and W8 PCs Windows mail clients have an option to choose the used email address.
Where is the setting in W10 and how do I get this under control? This can't be an issue for most as the forums would be full of it. What am I messing up here? The email app is currently useless to me.
I can't use any of the panes (calendar, weather, store, etc.) on Windows 10. I receive a message "this app can't open. Mail can't be opened using the built in administration account.
View 7 Replies- I am using some email accounts from the same Internet service provider
- the accounts are configured apparently with the same settings
- one accounts gets through and works correctly, reading and sending emails
- the other accounts don't read, nor send
+ wrong accounts keep asking to "correct account", because "outlook mail settings of account aren't updated"
+ this happens both in Win10 Desktop and mobile.
+ the "correction" asks the password, then does nothing
+ the issue repeats at every sync, with no sync
Updated a family PC to Windows 10 a few days ago, all went smoothly. Mail and Calendar apps opened, worked and details were put in.
A day later, these two apps - and only these two - will not open. Whether this is clicking the tile, or the name in the apps list, or even getting Cortana to try and launch them, they will not start up. Windows 10 will not allow for uninstalling them. This only happens on one account of the several on that PC - it happens to be the administrator account.
I have another PC that went through the upgrade at the same time, no issues. Under Settings, the working Mail/Calendar app is displayed on that computer as 760 MB. On the 'troublesome' computer, the app is only 450 KB in size (I cannot remember the exact number, I'm not using it right now). I am aware there was a recent update and wondering if this is to blame for not fully replacing the old version or something.
