Have confirmed permission to modify parent file folder. I can rename existing folders. Have run Bitdefender & CCleaner registery cleaners.

View 1 RepliesI have downloaded windows 10 successfully. However, when I try to create a 'new folder' in Documents, the Documents window puts out a message "not responding".
I can create a 'new folder' on my desktop and put it in the Documents folder, but I cannot use the "new folder" icon in the Quick Access bar to create one in the Documents folder itself. Am I failing to see something I should have done?
It works fine, but suddenly today the New menu disappeared from my click menu when I click on any blank place in a folder. What's worse, if I click the New Folder button under the File Explorer top menu, there is no response. In the end, I can only create new folders using command lines but not by the usual shortcuts.
View 3 RepliesI want to know whether I can create a Windows 10 USB boot disk from a folder in my PC(NOT an ISO). The folder contains all the necessary setup files for the the installation that were created by the Windows 10 media creation tool.
View 1 RepliesThe option to create a compressed zip folder is gone when I right click and then put my cursor on "New".
Here a pic of the problem ....
I bought a new Microsoft surface pro 3 It originally had windows 8 installed on it.From the instant that I unboxed it, turned it on, and accessed Wi-Fi connection, there were almost ALWAYS errors when installing certain plugins or programs from the internet. Instead the errors always came with the message can not create temp folder archive etc. or something of the like.
I downloaded Window 10 because it looked comfortable. No change; none of the programs that I download from internet explorer, edge, or google chrome work. No plugins, and sometimes no important pop-ups either.Another problem... which I have a feeling is related... I downloaded Microsoft office too. All of it worked except for Microsoft Word. Every time I try saving something, regardless of which button I click on, there is absolutely no response and none of the files are saved...
I looked into the internet for answers and there weren't that many. One video on youtube seemed to have a solution. It advised that I go into some advanced settings under the properties of my pc and click on environment settings and... do something I don't really understand. The instructions were:
User variables for {userName} and change the TEMP and TMP vars values to "c:/temp or something like that...
This PC was brand new, and yet these errors surfaced from the beginning and I still can't fix it.
I have Windows 10 Home 10240 build upgraded from Windows 8.1 Core. I have a inconvenient problem, if i create a new folder on the desktop. Right-Click -> New -> Folder, seems that explorer.exe crashes. Everything disappears desktop icon, taskbar. After 1 or 2 seconds everything comes back to normal and folder is created.
View 1 RepliesAbout a week after Clean Installing Windows 10 from an upgraded version on my laptop, I noticed that i wasn't able to Create a New Folder anywhere, from Desktop to File Explorer Directories. Nothing! Even when i try clicking the "New Folder" Button in the Ribbon or pressing Ctrl+Shift+N it still won't work. In the Context Menu (Right Click), I can't find the "New" Button too. Is this normal for Windows 10 after being installed? Do i have to install something (maybe an update) for the "New" to appear in the Context Menu?
View 9 RepliesWhen I create a shortcut to file in Program Files, the target path for that shortcut will be to Program Files (x86), even though the start in path will be correct. Furthermore, even though the target path is incorrect and no icon is displayed for the shortcut, the shortcut still works.Shortcuts to items placed in the Program Files folder by an installer do not have this problem. It is only for files that are manually placed in the Programs Files folder by me the user, i.e. copy and pasted there.

I have done sfc /scannow but it didn't work. Also, I have run default file associations registry files from here, but it didn't work either.

View 2 RepliesI had trouble making new flders in File Explorer last week but managed to fix that (at least for a day). I can now make new folders again, either via the tool bar or by right-clicking, but once the folder exists, when I try to re-name it I get an error window popping up that says: Can't find the specified file. Make sure you specify the correct path and file name. I just got the computer to make the folder, why can't it find it?

View 1 RepliesI have Windows 10 installed on 2 of my 3 computers. A 2 screen video editing machine that I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 works perfectly - I open Windows Explorer, I either hold the mouse over the left part of a file name, or right click on top of a file name for the dialog menu to come and then click rename, either way I am then able to rename the file to what I want.
But I re-installed (after the successful WIN7 upgrade) Windows 10 over Windows 8.1 on my main 27" HP and like it did the first time whenever I open a Windows Explorer program - whether from the taskbar or from a shortcut - and do the same to rename the file (either hold left or right mouse) so the filename is highlighted and as I start to retype the new file name it just automatically refreshes and reverts back to the original file name.
So I have had Windows 10 for a couple of months now, and have never had any issues up until now. Whenever I try to rename a folder/ add new folder file explorer freezes as soon as i touch the keyboard.
I've scoured the internet for solutions but have had no success it's getting extremely frustrating as I can't keep having
New Folder...New Folder 1...New Folder 2 etc.
I've been looking into my keyboard and if the drivers are all working correctly. I have a Razer DeathStalker Ultimate. all drivers are up to date with Razer Synapse.
