When I try to attach word docs to emails, a small compact screen opens and only shows 5 documents. There should be 100's... When I close email and search docs, they all appear normally.?

View 1 RepliesI was able to attach files using the combination of gmail and Windows 8. However, since I upgraded to Windows 10, I have been unable to attach the same files in gmail. The Attach files GUI opens, I select the file to attach, click OPEN, and the system goes back to the GUI without linking to the selected attachment. Double-clicking doesn't work, either. No attachment.
View 2 RepliesOk, I made a couple of themes, no problem with that but I neglected to make one of them a slideshow and can't find where to alter the theme itself.
Start - Control Panel - Personalization only allows me to choose a finished one. I want to edit one and have no clue where to find the saved file.
Finally found my favorite word processing program "WORDPAD", at Start Menu>All Apps>Windows Accessories, (from an old posting on this forum) however, I cannot find or locate my 80 -100 previously saved documents.
View 4 RepliesI am using Word 2013 on my laptop. Windows 8 was operating system. Recently upgraded to Windows 10. When I save Word documents now, they are saved as Wordpad documents. (.xml files) Wordpad does not recommend some of the Word formatting and alters the documents.
How do I correct this? I want the save as Word documents, as I did in the past.
I just did the free Windows 10 update on my computer and now files that had been saved to my computer for quite some time seem to have disappered
View 1 RepliesI downloaded 7-zip and am trying to compress a sound file and my system saves the file to PDF Adobe format. This means that I cannot open the file.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling 7-zip but it isn't working.
I would like to upgrade to windows ten but i have a lot of files saved on my computer that i would like to keep. Will Windows save them when I upgrade?
View 2 RepliesMy hard drive shows 20 more GB of space but everything is gone that I used or saved on the computer. I did not back up everything since the info I read said I would not loose this information.
Is there any way to retrieve it or roll back the hard drive to Windows 7 and retrieve the data I lost?
I am using two computers at home one with windows vista 32bit and the other with windows 10 64bit both are home versions. I want to map the drive on my win10 machine to access my saved files and wanna share from my vista one but when I do it I cannot connect to it because it my windows 10 machine doesn't have the same user and pass but that's irrelevant I guess because no matter what use/pass i use it says this drive is mapped to another user/pass even though there is only 2 accounts on the pc that i have access to and have full access to the shared drive.
I have password protection off for the vista machine because it would be stupid to have to use a password to print since my printer is shared just fine and I can print from any pc. Everguid I use is just not detailed enough I have tried using different credentials bt they don't work.
I have my favorites set up and there are many. The fav bar is full so how can I remove one and add another that I have saved.

View 14 RepliesSo I just turned my computer on and noticed that my desktop had been reset to the default wallpaper and all of my folders had been deleted. I also realised that my documents and pictures had been deleted. I tried to run a game and my save files had been deleted.
I restarted my computer and everything was normal.
Is this an issue computer or just Windows 10 in general?

View 3 RepliesBefore I wiped my Windows 7 install, I exported my IE11 favorites into an HTM file, "bookmark", by using IE11's "export" feature.
My clean Windows 10 install only has 2 browsers: Edge and Chrome. I do not want to install IE11.
How do I get the saved favorites/bookmarks to be imported into Edge? There is no browse function. Edge only allows an automatic import, and that seems to require a functioning IE11 install.
I did the install yesterday - no problem. When I tried to open Word and Excel today, they were empty. All of my files were gone! Can I get them back?
View 1 RepliesI've use Live Mail for years and use a saved folder for, well for things I want to save. I cannot figure out how to migrate Live folders to W10 Mail.
In Live mail I have the option to block spammers or block their domain. I cannot find either of these actions in W10 Mail. I don't want to just send email to the junk mail folder, but if that does the same thing I guess it is OK.
I need to know if I cannot set up a Saved folder so I can copy things I need like authorizations and SNs to another folder (not OneDrive) I don't care to share my personal stuff with MS.
I can always use webmail if I need to, Live has just been convenient. This is what happened when people fix things that are not broken!
I recently upgraded from windows 8.1 to windows 10. I can no longer print word or excel files since the upgrade yet the printer works fine, other files such as from Acrobat Reader print fine. When I print something flickers on the screen but too fast to read, and the job does not show up in my print q. The troubleshooter shows everything is working fine. I have tried printing new files and old archived files and nothing prints in Excel, yet the program otherwise works fine. What can I try to resolve this?
View 1 RepliesSince I upgraded to Windows 10; I have noticed that all my older Word documents have been made "Read Only". Despite changing the properties to correct this. Word still loads them as Read Only documents and will not let me make changes. I also noticed; that since the upgrade, despite my account having FULL ADMINISTRATOR rights and permissions, Every action I take to attempt to correct any issues pops up the message that I need administrator rights to complete the action. The problems I experience on my Laptop don't apply to back-ups of the documents on external storage devices. Is there a simple fix for this?

The error:
"Word cannot complete the save due to a file permission error.(C:User...Ongoing NotesInfoSoft.docx)"
I've noticed that there is a new user account that I didn't have before, which is an account associated to my Gmail. However, I've checked which account I logged in before opening the Word document, modifying and trying to save it - and it is an account with theoretically full control.how to fix it?

View 1 RepliesI can't open any photo files, it says they have the wrong file name. I had to update windows 10 because word stopped working ( I had already updated to Windows 10 from Windows 8, thinking it can't be worse than Windows 8 - but I was wrong about that.)
Word 13 stopped working a few days ago, and a computer techician tried to identify what was wrong. After checking various things he reinstalled Windows 10. Now I can't open any photo files, it says they have the wrong file name. I could always open the photos before. How can I view and edit my photos as I could before ?
Also is this problem with Word 13 continually jamming and stopping working also due to some windows 10 issue, or is it a virus ?
