Can't Get Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter To Connect?
Oct 8, 2015I can get the Microsoft sign "waiting to connect" on my tv but it won't connectwith Windows 10, how can I do this? Doesn't show up on the connect page.

Nov 24, 2015Not sure what I'm doing wrong but when I look at the MWDA reviews, everyone's surface is picking up the full screen.
My sp4 though, doesn't. there is a black screen around the screen when projected to the TV. I've tried it on my tv (old *** tv) and a newer Samsung TV.
The only way I got it to pick up the entire screen on the Samsung was by adjusting the picture size and stretching it. But it would never fit exact. Piece of the screen would be cut off on the top, bottom and sides.
It's annoying. I've tried changing the settings in the MWDA app but that only makes things smaller.
USB Wireless Network Adapter

WLAN Auto Config Service IS running.
The web sites that say to remove a Registry Key results in the Key NOT found and then trying to run its' companion command line utility results in not found.
Before updating to Windows 10, the Wi-Fi worked properly.
Latest Windows Driver IS installed. How to get my Laptop Running so that I can use it Wirelessly instead of having to connect via Category 5 land line cable to the router.
Wireless USB Adapter Keeps Crashing - Internet Will Cut Off
Jul 31, 2015This error is why i could never run Windows 8.1 on my machine and it seems to of transferred over to windows 10 too. My PC boots fine everything's working but usually if i am doing something like watching a YouTube video or on my PS4 playing online my internet will cut off and my wireless with have the Square box with a red cross, if i unplug my adapter and plug it back in it comes back on. But its a bit frustrating when I'm playing a multiplayer game on my PC or chatting on Skype for my adapter to crash. I've had this issue with my old netgear wireless adapter and this one.
It happens around 2-5 times an hour, i looked it up and I've tried many fixes some of which include:
Setting power settings to Max Performance.
Setting the Adapter to not turn off to save power
Reinstalling drivers
Turning off Bluetooth
I have looked in the Windows Event Log and i seem to get 2 events every time this occurs and they say:
WLAN Extensibility Module has stopped.
Module Path: C:WINDOWSSystem32cmihvsrv64.dll
and
The network interface "ASUS USB-AC53 802.11ac Wireless USB Adapter" has begun resetting. There will be a momentary disruption in network connectivity while the hardware resets.
Reason: The network driver requested that it be reset.
This network interface has reset 15 time(s) since it was last initialized.
I like Windows 10 but i can't use it if my internet keeps cutting out randomly.

Oct 19, 2015I have been connecting my PC to my router via a Ethernet cable and have had no issues but I want to move the PC to another room and run it off a wireless adapter. I tried a TP-Link USB adapter but it didn't work so I switched it for a Netgear one. That doesn't work either which makes me think there is something not right with my PC. I have installed and uninstalled multiple times, tired different USB ports but the Wireless Adapter doesn't seem to get an IP address and there are no Wireless settings in the control panel.But there are no Wireless setting and no connectivity to the Adapter.

Dec 16, 2015I just bought an ASUS PCE-N53 PCI-E adapter for my PC that I built several months ago. Previously, I was just using ethernet. Put the card in my PCI-E 1 slot, and installed the drivers from the installation disc, but nothing shows up in Device Manager and I have no wireless option in my Network Connections settings. why it's not showing up, minus it being dead out of the box? I can't try it in my PCI-E 2 slot because my graphics card is in the way.

Aug 8, 2015So after 2 failed attempts at installing Windows 10 on an Acer Aspire Z5801 PC, I finally managed to succeed. However, a new problem appeared after installation.The Wireless network adapter went completely missing. Windows does not detect its existence at all, it's like the PC doesn't have one installed. It doesn't appear in Device manager + isn't listed as an "unknown device". It's simply not there at all.The wired network adapter is there, but not wireless.
Installing the driver from Acer's website - I had to select Windows 7 64-bit as the version is all that's available for my adapter.I used a USB stick to transfer the setup files to the Acer PC. It said it successfully installed but still didn't appear, even after a reboot.Used a USB wireless adapter (Netgear) to see if it was an issue with how Windows 10 handles Wi-Fi - nope, that installed and worked fine.Scanning for Windows updates after using the USB adapter. Some updates were found and installed (no driver ones though), but still no Wi-Fi.
In the end, I reverted back to Windows 7 and what do you know? The adapter got recognised again.The USB adapter isn't a viable solution since it's required by another PC. I just used it for testing purposes.

Oct 6, 2015I recently brought a new wireless network adapter for usb (Asus usb N14) and since I've started using it the connection is really unstable, I'm on the same connection on my iphone and it's just fine but on my pc it's really struggling, I've ran speed tests and it'll work fine when randomly it'll just go down, I'll still be connected to the router but have no internet. Right now looking at the wifi graph in task manager it literally going straight up for a few seconds then straight back to 0 when downloading a file, and I'm unable to download any large files because it'll just fail after about 30 seconds.
I've updated it to the latest version with no change in performance or reliability. One other thing I'm at Uni so other people will be using the connection and I've no access to the router unfortunately.

Nov 22, 2015Ever since the 1511 update last week, my SP3 display adapter crashes all the time. For example, if I'm using Windows Live Movie Maker, it will crash after only a few seconds of playback, then I have to close the app and reopen it, so I can get another 30 seconds of work done if I am lucky. If I'm using Blender or Repetier Host, it does better - lasts minutes instead of seconds, and doesn't always crash in those apps, but it does occasionally.
When I try to print to my 3D printer, it crashes sometimes, wasting plastic. I can get around that by doing the print from SD, but sometimes when it is something small, it's just easier to print from the host. Having increased problems (I used to get it occasionally, but not often) since updating to Win10 version 1511 last week?

Dec 9, 2015I started my PC in a new premises with a Wireless modem, I have two other PC's connected.
When I started the PC it saw the wireless network and the option came up to connect and there was a tick in the "Connect Automatically" box.
I selected OK but got a message "unable to connect".
I did not get the opportunity to enter the Password/Key.
Now the PC will not connect to the Network nor will and Diagnose and repair fix anything.
BTW the Ethernet adaptor has been disabled.
The laptop I am sending this from is next to the PC so the wireless signal is okay.

Feb 10, 2016I have just bought an HP laptop running windows 10. I cannot connect to internet wirelessly as when I select my network connection it requests username and password. (Screen shot attached)I only have a network password for my connection and have never had or been requested for a username.
We have a couple of laptops at home and they connect with password only no problem. It is only this laptop that requests both. I can find no way past it and cannot connect. It connects via cable fine but thats obviously not ideal for portable laptop.

Is there another way to open this menu besides this link, or a way to fix the link? Jan 4, 2016Yesterday I relocated our Wireless Modem to a cooler room. We live in the Philippines so these devices can get quite warm...After relocating and hooking up all the wires, cables etc. My wife's computer a Dell, would not connect to the Wireless modem. I checked and replaced all wires with new ones, and rechecked the connections, everything was okay...I use a MAC which is still working fine, and connected right away, so I know the Signal is getting out. I did the "ping" command and it is not going thru. Tried everything I know, cannot get her wireless to work. I have a Red X on her adapter, in the Network Connections dialog box, "Not Connected"...Her system uses a Broadcom 802.11n adapter, which I replaced just recently...When I registered I added all the Dell system info, CPU info etc..

Aug 10, 2015I downloaded Win10 Wednesday of last week. Ive had 3 issues. One major two minor (and related).
First, each time I try to wake my computer up from sleep, it crashes, i get the sad face and it tells me it needs to restart.

Notes:
a) hardware is ok - verified by other OS
b) network connections were ok during automatic update and are still ok verified by other OS systems
c) the automatic update is the only change in the software
d) the only message was from MS browser "we are sorry you are not connected to Internet"!
Questions:
(1/5) What can be done ?
(2/5) Windows 10 advices to use online support in the situation MS update set PC offline, why ?
(3/5) How can one use online support after having forced to offline ?
(4/5) Is there any way to prevent Microsoft update to modify network drivers / drivers is general ?

Jul 31, 2015I just upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 but unfortunately my Netgear adapter is not compatible with Windows 10. It has Windows 10 support available via online driver updates but I am not sure on how to install them since I do not have internet on my computer and the easiest route, albeit the more expensive option, would be to simply buy a network adapter that supports Windows 10 and can be installed from the driver disk that comes with it. I was curious as to what Windows 10 network adapter is best and for a reasonable price.

Aug 9, 2015I had this issue on Windows 8.1, but never resolved it. It's not a massive issue, but when I boot up these adapters slow down the network connecting to the internet for around 30 seconds. I only use an Ethernet connection so, do not need these adapters.
I've tried disabling them and uninstalling them, but they always reappear!
