View 2 RepliesThey changed mouse scroll to scroll next/previous instead of zoom. I use a Logitech mouse with Setpoint installed and because of Setpoint smooth scroll, it scrolls through several photos on one scroll. Turning smooth scroll off, it doesn't always scroll next when the mousewheel "clicks". Another thing with my Logitech mouse is that I can't use the forward/backward buttons. They function as left click. Double click any and it zooms in. I can't change Setpoint settings per app because Photos isn't really a typical exe app like Notepad.
The last thing is that it seems to sharpen the photos even when I turned auto adjustments off. Compare Photos to Firefox and even Windows Photo Gallery and you'll see.So far, Windows Photo Gallery seems like a good alternative, except it doesn't play gifs (unless you click next frame really fast).
upgraded 8-1 desktop to windows 10. Mouse quit working in middle of game.
View 1 RepliesIs there a way to stop the middle mouse button (i.e. click of the scroll wheel) from opening Cortana/search?
Things I've tried:
1. Searched Google. No useful results. The closest I found was that Windows 10 may be confusing the click of the middle mouse button as the 3-finger tap on the touchpad - which opens Cortana/search by the default. But I don't have a touch pad. I have the Toshiba PX30T (Toshiba Qosmio PX30t 23 inch Touchscreen All-in-One PC - Black/Silver (Intel Core i3 3120M 2.5GHz Processor, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD, DVDSM DL, LAN, WLAN, BT, Webcam, Integrated Graphics, Windows 8 64-Bit): Amazon.co.uk: Computers Accessories).
2. Tried re-configuring the middle mouse button in (a) Windows 10 Settings > Devices > Mouse & touchpad, (b) Control Panel > Mouse, and (c) my desktop's manufacturer's System Settings utility application (upgraded just now from their website). Interestingly, none of those three configuration tools had any control setting for the middle mouse button.
It is obvious that Windows 10 doesn't "fully" support the wireless mouse that comes with my PC.
Is there a way to "unbind" the middle mouse button from opening Cortana/search? For example, via the Registry Editor - maybe?
Start menu doesn't scroll with mouse wheel.
View 7 RepliesWe have Windows 10 set up on our PC, and the mouse scroll wheel used to work as it should on both mine and my wife's accounts. Lately on my wife's account, the mouse scroll wheel won't work at all, both in windows applications as well as web pages.
what would cause my mouse to all of a sudden work for one user profile but not for another?
My mouse is moving jerky after cumulative update, no matter what I use - touchpad or mouse. The only place where it's works fine - task manager. In explorer, in apps, in games it's always moving jerky.
View 8 Repliesmy Win7 to Win10 upgrade. _While using_ the computer the mouse scroll settings reset to 1. This can happen a couple of times during the day even though the computer never has been in sleep mode etc. Computer is a Lenovo X230 with i5-3320M. It has Synaptics touchpad drivers. I am using a docking station with a USB Logitech mouse.
View 2 RepliesIf I click the Search icon on the taskbar and proceed to type something, the search results show up just fine, but the second I move my mouse to click on one of them, the whole window closes. This effectively makes searching impossible. If I click the Action Center icon in the notification area, it comes up (but on the wrong monitor -- I have my taskbar at the top of my right monitor and the Action Center comes up on the right side of the left monitor) but the same issue from the Search window happens - the second I move my mouse away from the taskbar to actually interact with the Action Center, it disappears.
Moving the taskbar to the "traditional" place (bottom of the left monitor) gives me the exact same results. I wonder if this has something to do with my mouse settings in some way. In Windows 7 I had it so hovering the mouse over a window for a second would bring that window to the front without having to click.
I have an HP Envy that I just updated to Windows 10. Now my cursor keeps jumping to the upper left corner of my screen. I have tried using different USB mice and a different browser, but the problem exists all the time.
View 1 RepliesI use left handed mouse, and swapping left / buttons works OK. I also set the wheel button to be "double click". But the wheel button brings up the context menu instead of double click. If I change to right hand mouse, the wheel button gives double click as expected. how to make the wheel button give double click for left hand mouse?

View 1 RepliesUSB flash drive works fine, printer works fine, just any mouse. The laptop is a Compaq C500. Tried updating driver in Device Manager but I get an error: windows encountered a problem installing the driver software for your device. Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it. The driver installation file for this driver is missing a necessary entry. This may be because the inf was written for windows 95 or later. I went to the Intel(R) N10/ICH7 Family USB Universal Host Controller - 27Ca and downloaded the most recent driver but when it tries to install it just says error encounter setup will cancel.
View 1 RepliesI downloaded windows 10 yesterday. Now the buttons below the mouse pad don't work. Initially the mouse didn't work, but I was able to find the setting for it and fix it. I'm able to move the cursor but can't select anything with the button or by tapping the mouse. I have a Bluetooth mouse and it works ok. Where the settings are for the buttons on the bottom? I have a Toshiba laptop.
View 2 RepliesSo I had Windows 8 and upgraded to Windows 10 now my mouse won't move . I can't click on any options I can only bring up task manager. One tech support guy told me I'd have to bring my computer in to reinstall Windows 8 because it doesn't show up as an option when I tried to reset it. But ive noticed a lot of people had this problem should I take It in or do any of you have something that works so I don't have to pay.

View 4 RepliesI recently upgraded Windows 8.1 to Windows 10.0. I have tried reinstalling Synaptics, removing and uninstalling Synaptics, disabling palmcheck, but it wouldn't work. It's annoying when you are playing a game that requires moving while pressing keys on your keyboard. I also have Synaptics 7.5 (19.0.10). The only way I can move my mouse while pressing any key is pressing (any key) + shift.
View 5 RepliesI am using Windows 10 and would like to use my mouse to wake it up when in sleep mode
View 7 RepliesEvery so often, more often when I'm watching a video on the internet, the mouse and screen freeze.
I'm using a Dell Inspiron 15-7559 with Windows 10
Why is the mouse missing (the pointer) / disappeared, where is it and how to get it back, I need to click.
View 3 Repliesi don't want my mouse or touch-pad to wake my laptop from sleep when it gets triggered, I have been to 'mouse settings' & unchecked the part about waking up PC' & i hit apply & OK but no good. Now the touch-pad wont wake it up but my bluetooth mouse still does it. I'm at a lost as to what other settings i missed or if its a bug somewhere.
View 3 RepliesI have installed windows 10 and it was working great and then I turned on my pc and when it gets to the screen after the blue windows logo where one would normally login my keyboard and mouse will not work. I've tried them on every USB port I have and nothing works.
