View 1 RepliesI've upgraded 2 other computers (same vintage all HP) to Windows 10 and had no problem using the Cortana mic except this one. Is it because it's automatically using the webcam mic to allow me to do this on the other 2 I didn't have a problem with? I was thinking perhaps I can change my default mic to the webcam for this one. How can I do this? I couldn't find the webcam mic as an option in Device Mgr. I don't have a separate mic attached to any of my computers but Cortana mic works with one desktop and a laptop. This one I am having a problem with, is a desktop purchased at the same time.I can type into Cortana but not using the mic icon it has available.
View 1 RepliesI tried a different USB port, we'll it is in the Device Manager under Other Devices but it doesn't find a driver and it isn't in Recording Devices.
View 1 RepliesLaptop Samsung NP300V5A. Sound stops working about a month after Win 10 upgrade. No changes done at the time.Audio devices show up under Device Manager, but not under Playback/Recording Devices. Same for Realtek Sound Manager - it doesn't see the devices. I can install, delete and update drivers under Device manager but it doesn't make any difference. It is not a physical problem, tested on Linux live CD.
Solutions tried:
-Installing various versions of HD Realtek Drivers (including windows update version)
-Installing/Removing Realtek software.
-Enabling/Disabling devices under Device Manager
-Called spirits of ancestors. Seemed like it worked for a while, but ended up being a joke.
-Did system restore to various dates.
-Restarted in safe mode
-Restarted various services such as Windows Audio, Windows Audio Endpoint Builder, Plug'n'Pray, Power, etc.
-Checked system, application and driver even logs.
-Tried a couple of registry fixes. Angered spirits of ancestors. Turning gray..
-Reinstalled chipset drivers
-Rebooted about 30 times
-Sound Device Troubleshooting finds no issues
-Display Disabled Devices is enabled
Don't use her very often yet. Mostly ok desktop since I have a gaming headset. Don't want to use it on laptop though. Haven't been able to get it to work with webcam mic. Is it even possible ?
View 1 Repliescannot get the webcam to work. Device Manager does not show any problems, but I see that there is no imaging device for the webcam! It worked under Windows 8.1 fine.
View 1 RepliesI recently noticed my webcam is always on for no reason. How do I check which application or process is using webcam now?
View 1 Repliesgot a toshiba s50-b-15f hd laptop, i cant launch the hd webcam...it was working fine with windows 8.1 but since ive upgraded to windows 10 home i cannot find how to start the toshiba webcam HD ?...there is nothing on the toshiba website for my laptop...
View 9 RepliesWell a feature of 10 I don't need but can't find a removal process for is that icon (that pops up the top middle of the screen when say a web page needs your webcam) of the app using the webcams icon next to a white picture of a camera...
Considering it's an always on top dealy and pretty useless to me how do I turn it and any potential other similar notifications off?
I seem to be having issues with my webcams. Every time I plug one into a USB port I receive a "USB Device Not Recognized" notice. I have uninstalled and installed the driver many times and restarted the computer. I have also tried an older LifeCam VX1000 with the same results.
View 1 RepliesWEBCAM NOT WORKING. I have a Toshiba DX730 All-in-One desktop PC running Windows 10. Since I upgraded to Windows 10 my integrated webcam has not worked. I have unsuccessfully tried the following:-
1. Checked the BIOS to ensure the webcam is enabled - it is.
2. Uninstalled/installed the appropriate drivers from Toshiba Support numerous times, including after a clean boot.
3. Uninstalled the hardware from Device Manager numerous times. An interesting point here is that the webcam does not appear in Device Manager under Imaging Devices, but is shown under Other Devices as USB 2.0 Camera, next to which is the dreaded yellow exclamation mark. Right clicking this and selecting Properties always shows that no driver is installed. I've run Driver Update and pointed it to the appropriate folder, but Windows always fails to find the driver.
4. Uninstalled Skype, just in case it was causing a conflict.
5. Run the software in compatibility mode.
None of this has worked!! When I open the Camera app the following error message appears "Something went wrong. Make sure your camera is connected and not being used by another app". Skype cannot detect a webcam.
Was not working straight after upgrade, but I noticed it worked after doing a Vaio system check. Now it's gone again. Don't fancy doing a system test everytime I want it to work and automatic update driver does nothing.
Searches on microsoft site generally brings up issue with same error that are external plugged in devices. This is the internal cam in my Sony Vaio.
I have a Lenovo G550 Laptop that is many years old which has a built in WebCam that worked fine in windows 7. I did not check to see if it worked in the installation of Windows 10 or the update for Windows 10. So to my surprise when testing my camera with Skype, it gave me the blue screen of death. I tried opening it with the Camera application on the computer and again, it crashed.
Here is what I have found out so far:
1. My Lenovo laptop is not on the list supported that Lenovo has on their website for this problem
2. When looking on the D drive of my computer under drivers and camera and driverpackages, I find files that say: Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7. This tells me that there isn't one for Windows 10 so I need to find a correct update for my computer.
So here is my question:
Am I wrong in assuming I need a Windows 10 Driver Package for the camera.
Uninstall the Easy Camera application that came with the computer, update the driver from Lenovo, and then your camera is good to use.
After installing Windows 10, my integrated Dell webcam video is not working. After exhausting every option possible, bottom line is that Dell is not supporting my laptop model in Windows 10. There is no Windows 10 webcam driver available other than the one that Windows 10 installs automatically. It does not open my Dell webcam video. Any way other than installing a USB webcam?
View 19 RepliesI run windows 10 32 bit and my camera driver is not working i guess although in devices manger it shows like everything is alright!
View 3 RepliesI updated my laptop from Windows 7 to Windows 10, as an update not by formatting and reinstalling. I realized that the webcam is not recognized anymore, in the system info under problematic devices there is a:
Intel(R) 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family USB Enhanced Host Controller - 1C2D
PCIVEN_8086&DEV_1C2D&SUBSYS_11471043&REV_053&11583659&0&D0
This device is working properly. In the device manager I can see the device above listed with an exclamation mark.
The Laptop is an Asus N53SV.
Asus a52f laptop w10/64 video picture is upside down. Device manager, okay no red/yellow marks, info Device USBVID_13D3&PID_5130&MI_007&3222d138&0&0000 - driver provided by MS version 10.0.10240.16384 (2006!). Looked on the Asus website only shows drivers for win7.
whether there is either a new win10 driver or an app to flip the image?
Logitech webcam 250.
Video works fine in both directions.
Incoming audio works fine but people on the other end can't hear me.
Went to Logitech website to update drivers and drivers are current.
Device Manager says device working properly.
Have eventually got 10 on my Toshiba Satellite R830. The problem I have is my Webcam does not work. Thought it was a driver problem but one was installed checked with Toshiba support site but no drivers for 10 showing only the one on my laptop. Spoke to Toshiba who tell me that this is all down to microsoft as they understand as microsoft were doing all of this automatically they had undertake to update all the drivers in the new installation???
Trying to contact microsoft seems to be impossible as they want an activation code but when I said I do not have one for Win 10. Was then told they would transfer me tech support and the inevitable disconnection occured. This after some 20 minutes waiting on the phone.
I have an MXL 990 microphone (xlr), and a Line 6 Studio UX2. When I plugin my mic, I see in the pod farm software that I am getting signal, and enough volume. However, my system doesn't pickup any sound at all. I have set the correct device as a recording device, and it still doesn't work.
The Audio interface picks it up, but nothing else on my pc does. Skype, teamspeak, etc. Also, it worked fine before I got windows 10.
how to give commands using a microphone in Windows 10? I know there's Cortana but I would like to ask google to search for an item.
View 4 RepliesI got me a new microphone and like most all microphones for PC there is no on and off switch, so on that note how can i mute and unmute it quick without having to click several things to get to the mute stuff. It saves also having to unplug and plug it in every time which would eventually we're usb ports out.
View 4 RepliesI updated my computer to Windows 10 Pro just few hours ago. I experienced some problems with the video drivers, but I solved them by updating the driver through nVidia GeForce Experience.
Now I have problems with my audio driver (which I think it is VIA HD Audio). My computer does not recognize my external microphone, only the internal one (which is not of the best quality). I looked for the drivers in the ASUS website, but I have found only outdated drivers for Windows 8. Then I saw the "sticky thread" on tenforums in this section and I tried to download the driver, but I do not want to mess up everything else as the site says:
Audio drivers available for download from the Realtek website are general drivers for our audio ICs, and may not offer the customizations made by your system/motherboard manufacturer. To be sure you obtain the full features/customizations provided in your original audio product, please download the latest drivers from your system/motherboard manufacturer's website.
So I'd like to find a good driver for my own PC (which is an ASUS G75).
In addition to it, it seems I have installed VIA HD Audio Control Panel, but I cannot access it because no window is shown when I start it.
I have a Centrios Desktop Microphone with a 6.4mm Jack. My Lenovo Thinkpad Edge E420 obviously doesn't have a 6.4 mm Audio Jack but it does have 1 Jack for both Audio and Microphones. I found an adapter from 6.4mm Female to 3.5mm Male. When i plug the Microphone into the adapter and the adapter into the Laptop it weirdly plays music out of the microphone and thinks it is a Speaker according to the control panel. I also have a splitter to make the 1 dual jack into two separate microphone and audio. I am not sure how to get the Desktop Microphone to work as a microphone. The Microphone will work on any other computer with a single microphone jack.
View 5 RepliesEver since I have upgraded to Windows 10 I have lost pretty much all of my bass in my headphones and my microphone now sounds like a robot to a point that you are not even able to make out what I am saying. I have a Realtek audio card and I have tried playing with all of the settings. It recognizes everything as being plugged in as well.
View 1 RepliesSo a few days ago I finished my new build, I went for for Win 10 with DirectX12 in mind. However, my mic does not work, neither through the front or back panel. The PC detects that an audio jack has been connected, detect the mic through both panels, but the mic itself does not pick out any voice. I tried reinstalling Realtek drivers, motherboard drivers, raising the level on Recording Devices and none worked. I'm using ASRock x99 Extreme3 Motherboard. Is there anything else that I can try? The mic works on my laptop and any other device, it's a Steel Series Syberia v2 Headset. Just updated Realtek Audio to 7720 v and still nothing.
