Jan 9, 2016I use DOS (specifically the WinZip Command Line Add-On) to backup my files. Have been for years and years. I can't figure how to address OneDrive in my .bat file. Can it be done?

View 3 RepliesIs it just me or the Windows10 new OneDrive synch option is terrible and very unintuitive. They have removed the placeholders that we have in Windows 8.1, but now want us to Synch/download all of our files to the computer in order for us to be able to use it. Not to mention, it is makes ZERO sense. How do they expect us to download/synch 1 TB of OneDrive files on a 250 GB computer? What is the point of Cloud then?
Lastly, how to do you undo the selected folders Sync to all folder Synch??
I am getting a bit frustrated with Windows 10 Pro and not sure what to try. So I do not want to use OneDrive or Quick Access. One of the first things I did was go to folder options and changed "open file explorer to:" this PC instead of quick access. I then unchecked both quick access options under privacy. So now when I hit start and select downloads, pictures, or file explorer, it actually opens to this PC. Not documents though. It still opens to quick access every time. I tried a restart, still nothing.
View 8 RepliesI might be clueless about onedrive syncing and access, but why is my onedrive folder on my laptop empty?
Is there way I could link/sync it with my Microsoft account so when I open onedrive on my laptop (file explorer) so it displays what I have on the "online onedrive"?
I hardly see the point of the onedrive on the PC if it cannot show what's already stored on onedrive (I have a bunch of stuff from my windows phone saved on onedrive)...
I am having a weird issue with OneDrive. I have gone thru the update and selected the folders to sync (god, I miss the place holders). Now every time I'm offline I try to access a file in those folders I get a error "File system error (-2143326205) ". I have the checked if the folders are up to date and all files are downloaded and they are. I am able to access the files if I'm online.
I should also mention that I am using a SP3 i3 and I have my OneDrive folder in on my SD card mounted into a NTFS folder on C:
My internet worked fine and I didn't do any changes to it up until it stopped working. I've managed to fix the internet access to allow me to access the internet on my laptop through wi-fi but network access still says no internet access. Websites work however ethernet does not work! I can't connect online on my playstation because ethernet doesn't work. I've tried disabling and enabling the ethernet. I checked the cables, I re-installed the drivers and i turned off and on the router more than I could count.
The internet works on my laptop however a connection test on my playstation 3 says obtain ip address succeeded and internet connection failed. So I can't play online. I am absolutely certain the playstation 3 is not fault as I checked vigurously the settings and I've put in the right connections, however it still does not work? Should I buy new cables for the router?
How do you turn off One Drive?
View 4 RepliesI would like to get rid of One Drive completely.
By logging in locally and not with a Microsoft account, One Drive is not activated.
In previous Windows versions you could uninstall One Drive in Programs and Features, but it no longer appears?
One Drive is based in the USA and therefore not safe at all The NSA will have full access to anything and everything stored.
I am trying to disable OneDrive & every time I type in "gpedit.msc" I get a message that Windows can't find it. Surely there has to be a way to disable it isn't there.
View 7 RepliesI'm running Windows 10 Pro x86_64. My little cloud icon says, "not signed in". I'm signing on my computer with my Microsoft account and OneDrive gives absolutely no clue to any of this. No way to sign in with OneDrive and my normal account is fine.
View 3 RepliesI see a folder titled OneDrive in Windows Explorer and I'm not sure how it works exactly.
View 9 RepliesWhat's the capacity of OneDrive on Win 10 Pro x64? I see it in the Users folder. If you save a backup disk to OneDrive, from a non-system disk on your system, does it take up twice as much space on the PC's storage? If so, then the folders and files would be in three places. Or, is it that the files and folders are on the cloud and just the non-system disk?
View 1 RepliesI have an issue with the "Documents" location.
As I don't like the "big brother is watching you" spect of the automatically sinc with OneDrive and as I get a "Pro" version, I don't want to use OneDrive anymore (except the pro version for some few folders).
So I started to organise my documents in the folder: C:/Users/myname/Documents
But I can't put it in the "Quick Access" as there is already the Documents which are located in C:/Users/myname/OneDrive but which is empty for me...
I also hardly find my documents when I download a document, as the OneDrive folder is "dominant".
Some screens to explain my issue...
So I would like to "replace" the "Documents" OneDrive Folder shortcut by my "true" Documents Folder.
Is it possible ?
Can OneDrive be used with a local account? I Know I would have to login with a MS account but can this be done from a local account?
View 3 RepliesOK so I installed and have been running W10 today. I noticed that I did not have a Quick Access link to my OneDrive. So I went to Programs and Features and found it in the programs list. I clicked on it thinking it would open up and allow me to change the settings. OOPs! It uninstalled OneDrive from the programs list. Now I can't find it anywhere on my computer, other than when I log in on the web page. So can I reinstall OneDrive and have it show in my file manager as a drive like it used to in WIN 8.1?
View 9 RepliesI had my systems set up to store a copy of the stuff I had on OneDrive on the local PC's under Windows 8.1. Since I upgrade to W10 that option has disappeared? Am I missing something? I have Googled and Binged and can't find anything specific to W10 and the W8 explanation ain't there no more in W10! I really liked the ability to access my OneDrive Stuff if/when the internet is down.
View 9 RepliesI had recently encountered a strange problem: time by time I am getting logged off from OneDrive and Cortana. I just turn on my PC and a OneDrive greeting window appears, welcoming me to log in and set up sync, just like I never did it before. The same problem with Cortana - she just randomly turn off and I have to set her up (entering my name, adding interests, weather e.t.c.).
View 9 RepliesI was wanting to do the same (remove the very annoying OneDrive) and while searching around the net I came across this. Note the very first post with the Batch file to remove the OneDrive from your Windows 10 install. I do not take credit for it,
View 3 RepliesMy One Drive icons have disappeared. Is there a way to get them back?
View 8 RepliesWhen I start the computer I get a Nag Message from OneDriveto Set Up OneDrive. I want to disable this nag message because I"m not sure I want to use OneDrive right now. How do I stop this message from appearing everytime I start the computer?
View 3 RepliesSo, I am just now getting around to trying to solve this problem due to the fact that I am needing to use the computer that has this problem at the moment. When ever anything that would put crap in My Documents (I.E. Rockstar) it instead goes to onedrive. The System will not let me change the setting on where documents get saved automatically. when I try to change it the selection box just goes blank. if I try to select "This PC" again it will then show up, however if I go away and come back the setting is back to saying "OneDrive".
View 6 RepliesNew on here a just taken plunge with w10. Not bad at all on this Surface Pro 3.
In windows explorer there is an option what folders to show and synchronise. It used to be that the file 'impression' was there but the actual file on the cloud. It now seems that to have them visible they have to synchronise and this means they actually download to local HDD. All I want is to see the files and when I click on them they come down from cloud and attach to email etc. This particularly important for pictures. Because these and medic are huge I don't 'synchronise as they would all come down locally.
So, how do I see the available files in OneDrive via Explorer without actually having them on hard drive locally.
The documents link in my Start Menu points to OneDrive, as of this moment I have found no way to make it point to my documents.
View 4 RepliesIn Windows 10, I already have folders for Music, Videos, Documents and Pictures. Why can't these folders be synced with OneDrive? It would make so much more sense. Instead I have to create separate folders in my OneDrive directory in Windows Explorer with the same names, doubling everything up.
View 9 RepliesLately OneDrive appears as one of the applications installed on my system; and the Windows Exprolorer lists it among the content of the system.
As shown there, it appears to contain a single file (or feature, maybe not a real file) with this name: .849C9593-D756-4E56-8D6E-42412F2A707B. Clicking on this just opens an empty Notebook and nothing else happens.
- How can I get rid of this application, as it seems quite useless, and I'm not aware of having installed it myself?
I cannot delete the file mentionned because a process keeps it open, a pop-up says.
I cannot uninstall OneDrive because that option is disabled on the list of applications.
- And what is this OneDrive application anyway? It doesn't seem to be the same thing as OneDrive, the storage space in the cloud, which I use regularly, and performs all right.
how to pause OneDrive's syncing? Also, how to make the icons in the taskbar bigger?
