I can not install programs or do Windows 10 updates because the Windows 10 Installer is damage. When attempting to install a program or do Windows 10 updates, the installer stops and the progress bar shows no progression of installation. I have the computer during the installation process and come back to the computer an hour later and the progress bar shows no indication of progress of installation. What I can do to try to fix the Windows installer?

Can the "Replace or Skip Files Confirmation" window be changed to the way it was in Windows 7? The one on windows 10 is inconvenient and even at times confusing (Like when backing up text files from my hard drive to a flash drive into a fold of the same name)

I upgraded my Bootcamp version of Windows 7 Ultimate to Windows 10 on my MacBook Air. The screen is cracked on my MacBook Air so I am trying to move Bootcamp to a new MacBook Pro. When I run Sysprep I am getting an error message that says Sysprep cannot run on an upgraded version of Windows.
My question is: If I purchase new Windows 10 Pro operating system, can I replace the upgraded Windows 10 product key with the new key and will it change the upgrade to a new installation of Windows 10. If it will do this, I can then run Sysprep and move Bootcamp to my new MacBook Pro.

I'm getting an alert saying that I need to repair or replace my hard disk and back up my laptop. I've already backed it up. My computer has been having some issues. I thouoght it was something I could fix myself. I had gotten a kernal_data_inpage_error a few time and I thought chkdsk had repaired it then I started to get the hard disk error. Sometimes my computer works fine and sometimes it's practically useless it goes so slow. Since I started getting the hard disk issue my computer has been running smoothly. Smoother then it usually does. What's up with that? I need this for work. Will it hurt anything if I keep using it as long as it's still running and then when it finally does just replace the hard drive? I was thinking about replacing the hard drive anyways to have more space on my computer. Also, could the warning be a false alarm and I might could fix it myself? My laptop is made very weird and the whole stinking paptop has to disassembled to swap out the hard drive unlike my old laptop where you can just unscrew the bottom and bam everything is.

I am looking for a text editor which will allow me to take multiple lines from one text file (I also have the information in a spreadsheet) and will then replace then lines in another line of that document.
I am trying to make a list for my books and comics.
<Book Series="{name}" Number="{no.}" Volume="{year}" </Book>
<Book Series="{name}" Number="{no.}" Volume="{year}" </Book>
For the comics it would need to replace the above format so;
<Book Series="{Batman}" Number="{01}" Volume="{2011}" </Book>

Most of my pinned task bar icons that I have added are all simplified tiles with the first letter of the corresponding website.
ie: Gmail is " G", American Airlines is " A", Flyertalk is " F". Google is " G" (causing confusion with Gmail.), etc.
Is there any way to change these tiled icons to the website logo like in windows 8.1 or 7?

New build. From a fresh install of windows 10 i try to install the drver for my IGPU Intel HD 530. each time i do that i get a BSOD with this message:
VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE igdkmd64.sys
Or sometimes it's
SYSTEM_THREAD_EXEPTION_NOT_HANDELED igdkmd64.sys
I've tried drivers from motherboard manufacturer CD, website and intel and some autodetect driver software. I always get the same behavior:
The screen start blinking several time ( black screen) before showing the BSOD then reboot and repeat it self. Even the driver downloaded by windows update have the same impact.
I've managed to install it in safe mode but when i restart in normal mode i get the same behavior.
I've tried 2 different monitors, VGA and HDMI , tried with UEFI on/off => same result.
I've tweaked once the tdr delay to 8 second, but didn't work.

I have tried everything I can think of, including the stand-alone ZA uninstall, however the Win 10 installer is detecting *something* and refusing to proceed until ZA is uninstalled:
Some Apps need t be uninstalled
These programs need to be uninstalled because they aren't compatible with the upgrade.

I'm about to build my first desktop, and I have a laptop with Windows 10 (upgraded from 7 which it came with). I don't plan on using the laptop anymore, so is it possible to install the laptop's hard drive into the desktop then move the Windows install to an SSD? If not, should I just buy a Win10 key or would it be possible to contact Microsoft about transferring the OS over?

My computer is trying to install Update to Windows 10 Home, version 1511, 10586, but can't. It claims there is no system reserved partition, but there is. This computer was upgraded from Windows 7 to 10, and immediately after doing that I installed a Samsung SSD and migrated the system to it using the software that came with the SSD. The migration went well and I've been using Windows 10 for months.
All of a sudden, when trying to do some updates it claims it cannot update the system reserved partition. The partition is there, it's 100MB in size. So I tried booting from the install CD, which I burned to do the upgrade (so I know it's a good disc). My computer recognizes there's a disc in the DVD drive, but no matter how I set the bios boot order it will not boot from the DVD, so I can't do a repair on the SSD.

I bought the usb version since i don't have an optical drive bay. The problem: I can start the setup, but when i launch the installation my pc suddenly restarts and boots the usb again, so i get back at the 32/64 bit selection screen. This happens when i click "next" after choosing my drive (see included video). The drive i'm using is a Samsung 850 EVO SSD.
I have tried numerous things to fix it including: removing the ram (2x8GB) and putting it back, trying with one ram stick, removing the graphics card and use the integrated graphics card, use different usb ports, use different sata ports, removing the hdd (i can't even start the setup with the hdd plugged in).
I also downloaded Windows 10 from the official website and put it on an other usb stick, the same problem occurs.I even tried with Ubuntu and the same problem happens!! When i launch the installation my pc reboots and the setup restarts!I have made a video showing what happens (win 10): I also made a video that shows my BIOS.Everything looks fine... but it doesn't work!!

Basically, I got fed up with the daily problems from doing an "upgrade" from Win8.1 to Win10TP 32-bit and decided to install afresh from the latest ISO. Since I have a 64-bit processor and 8GB of memory (now) I thought I'd try the 64-bit version.
Booted from the USB stick, chose Install, clicked next, saw the drive with the formatted NTFS primary partition (empty) for Win10 and select that ...
And got the dreaded "we couldn't create a new partition or locate an existing one. See the setup log files".
OK...
So, I removed the partition, leaving an unallocated drive, and using the "New" icon, created a new one. That appeared to go OK. Selected it -- and got the same error message again!
Went through the same stuff with the 32-bit version -- same sequence, same error messages.
So, I have two questions:
1) When you're in the installer, how do you look at the setup log files to see the detail messages?
2) What is the "secret" to installing Win10 on an SSD? (Note, I had Win8 install just fine to this same SSD (Crucial 120GB) and move Win8.1 to a larger SSD when I bought a new one. So, I know this SSD works OK.
I ran into this same bunch of problems with the original Win10TP install -- which is why I ended up cloning Win8.1 to this SSD and then doing an "upgrade". But this time, I want to do a clean install...

I made an ISO from a 10532 upgrade to install it on to another pc and here is what happens. Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk is of the GPT partition style. OK, so I change my disk to MBR and get the same problem only this time it tells me the selected disk is of the MBR style. Either way it won't install. What do I do now???? ?
