View 1 RepliesI tried to change the windows update settings and I can't! I get a message saying that some settings are managed by my system administrator! I am the only user in this laptop with administrator privileges.
How comes that I can't change the settings?
I do not want Windows 10 to update and restart my PC automatically - I want to decide when that is done.
In the Settings it is fixed at 'Automatic' update.
I have followed two suggestions to alter the setting that searches turned up, but neither have worked so far.
NOTE:
Here are the 2 Methods I tried.
Why the following command does not work and does not change the time zone to -5?
Since when I set it manually to -5, the following key will be applied the same:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlTimeZoneInformation]
"TimeZoneKeyName"="Eastern Standard Time"
I was using Windows 7, and using too much wallpaper at background. In windows 7 i can set the change picture time to minimum 10 seconds. But in Windows 10 this time is minimum 1 min. This so long time for me because i want to see all my wallpapers a short time. Another problem is there is no Shuffle options. How to shuffle the wallpapers.
So there is any way too change this setting. Maybe in regedit?
I have looked in the Settings personalize Tab and can not locate the time tab for setting interval for picture changing? any other location it may be located in?

View 3 RepliesI have recently been trying to update an old hp laptop running windows 7. The 10130 update is showing ready to download, it downloads and tried to install but repeatedly fails at around 70-80% each time. It gives an error code of 800703f1 each time.
I have tried disabling all security features and firewalls etc. The laptop will not let me restore or reset to factory settings. I am not able to download the bios file as i have no flash drive to put it onto.
Can't update to the lastest build of Windows 10 because of the error 0x00000225, and until now can't find a fix for it
View 1 RepliesI am having trouble accessing MS app store and also updating office 2016 through any of the office applications.
My question is, will win 10 apps and office 2016 default update through windows update?
I like Windows 10 but it caused too many problems, so I used the option to revert to Windows 7. This has also meant a return to getting insistent messages wanting me to install Windows 10 again (and on one occasion, an attempt to install it without my permission). My question is, if I do reinstall Windows 10 and run into the same problems, will I have the option to return to Windows 7 a second time?
View 3 RepliesWell only 'View installed updates' works. (the earliest shows only one of 21 November - I thought November had a big update. no?)Clicking these does nothing:-
Win Update Elevated Installer
Win Update settings
Advanced Win Updates options
Check for Updates
As I updated via this on another computer yesterday with no problem (except updating 4 items took over 4 hours!!) what can be my present glitch be?

Is there a way to find the screen on time for your device running windows 10?
If there is no built in way to do this, is there any 3rd party program that can measure screen on time (SOT measures how many hours your screen is on as a way of testing battery life) ...
When i open a new window or tab it opens with 200 % size every time it is so annoying!
Latest Windows 10 Build 10532
I installed an update today which says in Microsoft's notes about it that it patches Edge among other things. Yet, the version displayed in Settings in Edge is the same as it was before this install. Is it supposed to stay the same?
View 3 RepliesIt has been doing this EVERY time I restart or start up my computer. It is very annoying as it clears some of my apps. It also says it is putting me on a temporary account or something like that.
View 1 RepliesI have Win 10 Pro x64. I recently upgraded from Bitdefender Internet Security 2015 to Bitdefender Total Security 2016. With both versions, I notice that whether booting cold or a restart, sometimes Windows Defender is active (can be accessed thru the Control Panel icon and updates itself etc) and other times it is inactive "The application is turned off and is not monitoring your computer". Same thing with the Windows Firewall.
Is this a known 'bug', maybe with Windows Defender or Bitdefender, that allows Windows Defender to enable itself, seemingly randomly when starting/restarting the PC. My understanding is that the 3rd party AV should permanently override and disable Win Defender.
I presume that this is not a good thing and conflicts between the two will result in problems/instability.
How Do I Disable The Windows Login Screen Every Time We Reboot?
View 9 RepliesHow can you change the time when Widows Defender auto scans your PC? When I had 8.1 it ran about 2AM. That was OK. Now in 10 it runs about 4 or 5PM. That is when I use my PC most. I looked in Task Scheduler, but I can't find it.
View 6 RepliesIn Windows 10 v1511, I noticed that if I disable the real-time protection of Windows Defender, when I reboot the system, this protection comes back on automatically.

View 5 RepliesRecently I've installed Windows 10 on a Dell Inspiron 17. It had had a preinstalled Ubuntu. When installing Windows, I deleted the Ubuntu partition, leaving only the one for system recovery and the one called DIAGS, I think.
Now everytime the system is loading, for a split second I get the Windows Boot Menu screen that's cut from the top. See : [URL] ....
After that, the system loads just fine. What is it and how do I get rid of it?
