Cannot Delete Unused Printers From Devices And Printers
Nov 28, 2015The printers do not show in "device manager" but they appear in Devices & Printers. If I select it and click on "remove" it temp goes away but reappears again later.

Jul 28, 2015I've just upgraded to build 10240 and have found I cannot access Devices and Printers and I need to install a new printer driver as well as remove unwanted drivers for devices I do not have. I've tried all sorts of ways to access the dialogue but none of them work. I've tried accessing it via Settings|Devices, the Control Panel, the USB icon in the System Tray and the Run dialogue entering control printers. Nothing has worked. The previous build (10162) worked OK but now I just can't access Devices and Printers whatever I do.

Jan 28, 2016Today I noticed an eject media icon on my task bar, and when I click on it, it shows an option to eject my gtx 970 which is plugged into the motherboard, should I be worried and is there anything that can be done?

Although everything works OK, i.e.
-iTunes v.12.3.2.35 recognizes it, backs it up and syncs it
-I can see its content from Windows Explorer
-and in Device Manager has the latest drivers for both Apple iPhone & Apple Mobile Device USB Driver
The iPhone is shown in "Devices and Printers" under Unspecified Devices.

Oct 7, 2015How can I remove an unspecified device in printers and devices. The unspecified device was a result of a failed attempt to add a printer. It won't allow me to uninstall it, I did remove an error in the device manager but that didn't do anything. Right clicking has no effect.

Printing To Homegroup Printers
Aug 31, 2015I have a home network with 4 Windows 10 and two Windows XP computers. The 4 Windows 10 computers are in a Homegroup and all are set up to share files and printers. I can access documents on all of the computers in the homegroup from every other computer in the homegroup. Two of the computers are logged in with local user accounts. The other two are logged in with Microsoft ID user accounts. One of the Microsoft account computers has an HP inkjet printer and a Brother laser printer attached via USB ports. I can print on those two printers from the host computer and from the two computers logged in with local accounts. I cannot print to those two printers from the other computer logged in with a Microsoft user account. When I try to do so I get a notification that says "access denied, unable to connect". If I change that one computer to a local account, it works just fine immediately, but when I change it back to a Microsoft ID user account the problem recurs. That would seem to preclude driver, homegroup and network problems, but I rule nothing out at this point.

Jan 4, 2016We have recently updated our four work computers to windows 10. Mine shows none of the network computers or printers under network. Under printers it shows one of our four printers but says driver unavailable and the spooler is not working.
I can get onto two of the other computers using a link under my quick access bar which was set up on our previous windows, so it can go to these computers, but they are not showing up on the network.
I have googled some of these questions and tried control panel/ administrative tools/ services/ to turn on UPnP Device host to automatic but it wont start and comes up with Error 1068: The dependancy service or group failed to start. Similar for SSDP discovery and Print spooler.
Under change advanced sharing options I pick 'turn on network discovery' but it wont stay on/keeps going back off.
I may be able to find a way to get onto the printers I need but would ideally like everything to show up properly under network.

Aug 22, 2015I have two common home printers, Lexmark inkjet and HP laserjet on a home network, and when I upgraded from W7 to W10 they were not installed. The W10 network scan brought up nothing, even though both printers were switched on and 'awake'. Even with the laptop placed right next to the printers, still nothing! So I now have no way of printing and no way of installing a printer!
PS: I also have blurry fonts, and I see from this forum and the web in general that that's a whole separate world of grief!
BSOD :: Printers Install Crashes Laptop
Sep 7, 2015Having successfully upgraded a tosh laptop with Win 10 and finding and installing all unknown device drivers (2 of them) the machine worked well. I then turned my attention to install any of the 3 different printers I have, Brother, HP and Epsom. With each printer I get the same problem, regardless how I try to install each one, either with the driver package, using the win 10 printer install routine the machine crashes. I get a black screen and the laptop trys to reboot and crashes again. After the second crash the laptop resets itself and I have to re-install my apps and device drivers again. Try again to install any printer and the same routine happens all over again.

Feb 10, 2016I have had to reinstall my wireless printers everyday for the last couple of weeks. I upgraded to Windows 10 in December of 2015. I'll get the message that no driver is installed and that they are not connected to the network. One is an HP Officejet 8600 all-in-one & the other is an HP Envy 100 D410. I have had these printer a fairly long time with no problems. Now I have to go to the HP site & reinstall the drivers every day & then run the installation process again. I use their IP addresses when installing them.

Jan 14, 2016i have been suffering slow WiFi speeds for a while now and sky have replaced my router.
I have two computers both running windows 10 with the latest build.
Now since i started with this router i have lost my home network and i have not changed anything on the computer.
some times i can see my other computer but not able to connect to it. sometimes i can see nothing. sometimes i can see the sky router and sometimes not. I am not able to see my printer at all on ether computer.
My network is set to private on both computers and file and printing is turned on.
All i have done is plugged in a new router.Sometimes i can see on my network a device called AirTies WAP what is this.

Sep 3, 2015I did an Upgrade from W7 Pro 64 bit to Windows 10 and it worked fine but the three printers attached to the computer no longer work. The print Spooler is stopped and all efforts to restart it fail with Error 0x80070057 "Incorrect parameter".

I am not sure which one I can remove it using DISKPART. Below is what I seen on the Disk Management Screen. Only C drive has volume label of C.

Nov 29, 2015Our desktop used to be our only PC. Everyone had an account and logged in to use it.
We now all have our own notebooks. I removed all the accounts on the PC but the main admin.
We have upgraded to Windows 10. I notice under windows explorer/network there are still old media devices based on the old accounts I have deleted. How can I delete/remove these media devices?
Drivers/Hardware :: Audio Devices In Device Manager But Not In Playback Devices
Oct 2, 2015Laptop Samsung NP300V5A. Sound stops working about a month after Win 10 upgrade. No changes done at the time.Audio devices show up under Device Manager, but not under Playback/Recording Devices. Same for Realtek Sound Manager - it doesn't see the devices. I can install, delete and update drivers under Device manager but it doesn't make any difference. It is not a physical problem, tested on Linux live CD.
Solutions tried:
-Installing various versions of HD Realtek Drivers (including windows update version)
-Installing/Removing Realtek software.
-Enabling/Disabling devices under Device Manager
-Called spirits of ancestors. Seemed like it worked for a while, but ended up being a joke.
-Did system restore to various dates.
-Restarted in safe mode
-Restarted various services such as Windows Audio, Windows Audio Endpoint Builder, Plug'n'Pray, Power, etc.
-Checked system, application and driver even logs.
-Tried a couple of registry fixes. Angered spirits of ancestors. Turning gray..
-Reinstalled chipset drivers
-Rebooted about 30 times
-Sound Device Troubleshooting finds no issues
-Display Disabled Devices is enabled

Hard Drive Partitions - Allocated But Are Labeled As Unused
Mar 14, 2016I'm just doing some spring cleaning on my laptop and I noticed a couple of partitions on my hard drive. Well, I'm mostly curious about two. Both of them are about half full. Neither one has a drive letter, and one of them has this label: System. They're allocated but are labeled as unused partitions. What do these partitions do and how careful do I have to be with them? I need to move partitions around and such to merge with and extend my C drive.
