Oct 28, 2015I have just got a new hp laptop with Windows 10 already installed. When I first set it up I was asked for an email address and password, I entered my hotmail email address and password and it allowed me to continue. Since then when I have tried to access hotmail.com on internet explorer it won't load at all. And when I've tried to access it on the mail icon on the home screen, it opens up but says that my account needs to be updated so I click on the link to do this and every time it starts to load for a few minutes then comes up with an error?

Nov 7, 2015Running windows 10 pro here. I open iexplorer and open Hotmail and I went to create a new email to one of my contacts and noticed when I was typing in the email address that it didn't auto display from my contacts. I then clicked on the settings and selected 'People" and all I get is the beads just spinning for a while and then get "This page is temporarily unavailable.Funny thing when I open firefox and go into Hotmail I can see my contacts and when I select "People" it instantly displays all my contacts. What the heck changed in iexplorer for me yo lose all the contacts?

Feb 10, 2016Made the mistake of linking my wife's Hotmail account to the user account on windows 10, I had to reset the password through Microsoft so now when logged in it also opens up her Hotmail account because both are the same. Her account is also an administrator. Is there anyway to change this? Can I make another account as administrator?

Jan 24, 2016I have deleted and recreated the *.ost file several times and it still asks for the password several times and then comes up with the following message. "Cannot expand the folder. The set of folders cannot be opened. The file C:UsersEdAppDataLocalMicrosoftOutlooksundancer245_hotmail1.ost is not an Outlook data file (.ost)." I have no problem accessing this account in FireFox and none of my other Hotmail and Outlook accounts are causing this problem in Outlook 2010. I am running Windows 10 on this computer and on my Wife's Tablet and I can access the Problematic Hotmail account from the Tablet and also from my new Lumia 950XL windows Phone 10.

"Error with send/receive. There was an error synchronizing your folder hierarchy. Error: 80041004"
This Outlook install is part of Office 2010. Everything was running fine until this morning. I did a lot of searching and found a reference to a Control Panel setting. However, now, it appears that Control Panel has gone missing!!! I ran a utility on the command line, I forget the actual command, to deal with corrupted files. It found some issue, so it said. I rebooted. Nothing has changed... I've wasted the whole day so far.
I don't know if it is related but I seem to also have problems on some web sites displaying images. As if the HTML is displayed only, without the css settings. (Chrome browser) - same on Firefox browser.
Loss Of Hotmail Account Locks New Tablet Completely
Dec 19, 2015My new win 10 tablet is asking to the pw to this account, since the Hotmail account does not exist how can I get into my computer now! While windows 10 is seeking this email address, I am totally unable to access my tablet.
How can I fix this without a compete restart which will loose some valuable information that was stored on it. As this is a new system, there are no backups made.
Browser/Email :: Cannot Get Mail App To Work With Gmail Or Hotmail Accounts
Sep 2, 2015Having got all of my standard stuff, including having MS Outlook handle my email accounts, sorted out; I decided to give the new Windows 10 Mail Application a try.
Unfortunately I cannot get it to do a darned thing:-
1. With my Hotmail account I get error code 0x80070032. I've tried a couple of suggested "solutions" without success.
2. With my Gmail account I get "We didn't find anything to show here" or "Still working on it". Either way nothing shows up.
Maybe I should just stick with MS Outlook.
Browser/Email :: Asks For PIN When Adding Different Hotmail Account To Mail App
Jan 6, 2016I have two outlook/Hotmail accounts. One I log into the PC with (which is pretty crappy by the way and is a huge hassle in Windows 10 IMO).
In the mail app, I was able to add the mailbox of the one I use, however I have a second email account through Hotmail that when I try to add the account to the mail app, it asks me to verify with a pin. I have never used a PIN with this account.
I went to settings and sign in option, and have an option to change the pin, however it is wanting to change the main account that I log into the pc. The pin appears to be 4 digits (it only allows 4 characters before it auto enters) unlike the main pin which is 8 or 9 numbers.
People App Not Showing Contact Pictures
Jul 30, 2015I've upgraded one of my computers from Windows 8.1 to 10 and when opening the People app my contacts do show but no picture is shown. In Windows 8.1 the People app could be connected to several social networks and pull contact info. If I access my MS account on the web, the People page still shows my social network connections, but I know that the Facebook integration has been deprecated.

Empty All Apps List
Nov 3, 2015I'm not sure when this started happening. Might have been after a Windows update and the system reboot. I've been living with it for a couple weeks now.
When I click All apps in the start menu, the list is empty. The apps in the most used list are still populated and when I install a new app, it shows up as a new app. But when I click All apps, it never shows anything. Just an empty menu with a back button.
The apps in the tile portion of the start menu show up fine and I'm able to search for apps to launch them, but I'd like to be able to easily go through all the apps I have installed.
