View 1 RepliesWhy, after rotating a photo from landscape format to portrait on my PC, does the thumbnail stay in landscape format even though the photo is now in portrait format?
In Windows 7 and previous Windows OS's, the thumbnail of photos rotated with the actual photo but in 10 the thumbnail does not rotate with the photo. How can I correct this?
If so, what are my options? This HDD came from HP w/Win 7. I upgraded it to Win 10 but would like to clone it to the SSD for the speed increase.

View 1 RepliesHow do I get powerpoint working on my PC after Windows 10 installed? It opens and then disappears.
View 1 RepliesI upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7 ~5 days ago. Since then, Powerpoint 2013 opens/works fine, and saves/opens new files.
But any Powerpoint 2013 file that I work on on a Windows 7 machine or that a colleague sends me from a Windows 7 machine appears with an error message. "Powerpoint found a problem with content in xxx . PowerPoint can attempt to repair the presentation. If you trust the source of this presentation, click Repair." If I click 'repair', then it simply tells me it cannot open the file. (To be explicit - if I then open the file on a Windows 7 machine, it still opens fine.)
Troubleshooting:
- I have tried to repair the file - nothing happens
- Both versions of PowerPoint are PowerPoint 2013
- This applies whether pptx or ppt file
- I have tried 'quick' and 'complete' repair without success
Please see attached file .....
View 3 RepliesI have an older home build computer. Main board is an ACER AST690, CPU Pentium D 2 core 3.4 GHz, OS Win 7 Pro SP1 When I first tried to load Win 10, I was running an Pentium 4 672 HT-Vt, 3.8 GHz. I got a message that my CPU was not supported. Coreinfo indicated prefetchw was missing. I found the Pentium D 2 Core that has prefetchw. Win 10 still won't load from the start menu icon. I downloaded the isoimage of Win 10. It will load but as home addition which I don't want. My last check of compatibility of Win 10 was on 8-10-2015. Do I need to wait until after 9-10 for Microsoft to rerun the compatibility test? I really don't want Home Addition of Win 10, I want to upgrade from Win 7. Will I be able to load Win 10 after 9-10?

I currently own a Dell Inspiron N5110 laptop with Windows 7 installed, but just received the last part to build my own desktop today! I'm looking to get Windows 10 on my new PC.I recently received the "Get Windows 10" button in the toolbar on my laptop, but when I click on it, it says I can't upgrade to Windows 10 because "the BIOS isn't supported".
However, I don't really want Windows 10 on my laptop; I'd much rather have it on my new desktop. So, my first question: is there a way that I can download a bootable Windows 10 file to my current laptop, transfer to a flash drive, and use that to install Windows 10 on my new PC right out of the box, all for free?
So my next question is: will buying and downloading the version of Windows 8.1 Pro in the above link work for my situation? That is, is it a full install in the sense that I will be able to make it a bootable file on my flash drive to install on my new PC? I believe I would have to download a Windows 8 ISO file to start.
My last question: is there an easier alternative to getting Windows 10 on my new PC, and if so, what is it? I think I can download Windows 10 here: URL... I'm not quite sure how that process would work either.
Got this message "CPU isn't supported" when they tried to upgrade to W10. We tried the Media Creation Tool and it came back with "You can't install Windows 10 because your processor doesn't support CompareExchange128". So where do i send her from here ??

View 1 RepliesI am running Windows 10 via Boot Camp on the new MacBook Retina. I have always had the slimmest/lightest notebook as I travel extensively for work and the new Apple product is impossible to beat in that regard (and Sony went out of the VAIO business). I hate OSX, never run it, I just boot straight to Windows 10 and things are awesome. Except...
I am usually the key presenter at important board meetings and customer meetings. I have a big/heavy notebook at work which I use 90% of the time, but when I hit the road I'm using my sleek/light Windows 10 MacBook. Issue is, when I arrive at my destination and am shown to the presentation room, I boot up Windows 10, launch the Powerpoint file from Dropbox, and -boom-, within 5 minutes I'm speaking in front of a large group.
I am concerned that at my next presentation, I'll whip out my thin/light notebook and as I start presenting I'll see some message about Windows 10 updating -or- Windows 10 needing a reboot to install updates.
Does Windows 10 know enough not to interrupt a full-screen Powerpoint presentation? Is there a mode to disable automatic updates? Or with its new update protocol I am at risk of an embarrassing update moment at my next series of live presentations?
A friend of mine upgraded to W10 this afternoon after being on W7 Ultimate. Everything seemed okay until he went to change his monitor resolution. It isn't listed under the resolution settings in the control panel. His monitor's native is 1366x768, but even when selecting 1360x768, it says that his input is not supported.
This is strange considering it worked just fine when on Windows 7. My only thought is that his GPU is quite old - It's a ATI Radeon HD 4600 Series, and the monitor is an Acer X193HQ. He doesn't know an awful lot about hardware, but I believe he's using a DVI cable from the PO.
Not long installed the new Windows 10, but I had to change my language pack from English - United States to English - United Kingdom, now I'm trying to activate Cortana, but comes up saying Cortana isn't supported in the region or language you've selected.

View 2 RepliesI have a PC running Windows 7 Pro. I ran the 'Get Windows 10' app and it reported that it was not possible to upgrade because my graphics card (Geforce 7300LE) was not supported. I bought a new graphics card (Geforce GT610) and re-ran the app.
Despite the removal and replacement of the old card, the app still says I can't upgrade because the old card is unsupported. It appears that it hasn't detected the change. Is there any way to make the app 'forget' the original card? As far as I can see in device manager the driver for the old card has gone so what is the app looking at?
Actually none of our old printers will print anymore...have tried with W10, W7 and WXP. Currently trying to get a Canon BJC-3000 to print off a W10(just upgraded from W7) - nothing. I'm told this may be due to the older printers are no longer supported on new OS's. Is that true or can I do something about it?

I upgraded to Windows 10 yesterday, and at first, everything was fine, but when I play league of legends, randomly, my computer just says "input not supported" or "no signal" or sometimes nothing at all, and then shuts down. This never happened before I upgraded to Windows 10. I went back to Windows 8.1, but it still shuts down in the middle of league games. Again, never happened before going to Windows 10. Is it my GPU? or CPU? or PSU?
CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Corsair H105 73.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
Motherboard: MSI Z97-G55 SLI ATX LGA1150 Motherboard

Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
GPU: Asus GeForce GTX 970 4GB STRIX Video Card
PSU: Corsair CX 600W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply
Also, the SSD is my boot drive and has league on it, it has only about 35GB out of 240GB left.

View 1 RepliesI have several external USB3 500G and 1TB drives that were formatted with HFS for macs, I can read them an copy from them, but not write tot them (in win10). But I have cleaned some off, and want to reformat to exFAT so they can be be used cross platform. But when I try and format, either quick or otherwise, win10 won't let me.

View 1 RepliesMy computer is a mess and I've got new parts coming and want to format all drives before that. I have windows 7 home premium on cd with key. In addition to SSD with the OS, I have two HDD disks that I want formatted aswell.
How do I get windows 10 back? Can I make a copy or something on a flash drive and install only windows 10 without having to upgrade from win7? Maybe it's possible to do a clean install of windows 10. I read something about a factory reset function, will this clean the drives and leave me with nothing but the OS? Thats what I want to achieve in the end.If I have to format, OS is currently on a SSD drive(Kingston v300, 120gb). Is the best option to format an SSD through the OS installation? Given that it's booted from a flash drive/CD. I have backed up everything I want to keep of course and uninstallled a lot of stuff to clean things up a bit and take care of all my local game files and such.
