I have a problem in the installation of Windows 10. I have a CD installer of windows 10 pro 64 bit and I want to replace my Windows 8 OS thats why I perform a clean install. But whenever I try to install the OS. I have this error:
"Windows cannot find the Microsoft Software License Terms. Make sure the installation sources are valid and restart the installation."

I've been considering shrinking my one disk (disk 0) to create another volume, a data partition, but I'm still not clear what happens in the event that I want to refresh, reset or clean install Windows 10 in the future. Would the data partition remain or, as I thought I read, Windows will format the entire disk?

My present Windows 7 computer has the C: Drive (OS) and two additional storage drives, D & E. When getting reading to do a clean install of Windows 10, is it necessary to electrically remove the storage drives in case of any conflicts, if any, during the installation of Windows 10 or can they remain intact during the clean installation of Windows 10?

I bought a new SSD drive and used it to replace my old slow HDD in my laptop. I have just successfully installed windows 10 on it.
During the step shown in the picture below, I clicked on "New"
Which brought me to this step
From here, i just chose "Drive 0 Partition 4", clicked "Next", and the installation began.
Now here is my question, does it make a difference (or is it better) if I had chosen to format "Drive 0 Partition 4" first and then install? cuz my friend is saying that I should always format before installing Windows.

Basically, I am following the instructions to the letter, and it all looks ok, but when my system restarts, I go back straight back into system configuration and click on the services tab and the 'hide all Microsoft services' box has unchecked itself, also scrolling down the list only a small number of services remain unticked, and both 'enable all' and disable all' functions are available, as per screenshot;
Obviously this isn't how it should be because there are steps in Microsofts 'How to reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting' procedure which include, 'clear the check box beside Hide all Microsoft services'. But it's already clear when it should be in clean boot mode. And most of the services are running.
The part of the procedure where I go into startup and disable all the items seems to work ok, they are all still disabled when I reboot.
I wondered if it was something to do with my HP Support Assistant, so I disabled that and tried the procedure again, to no avail.

I have Aspire V5-573G, which has all hardware requirements for Windows 10. The problem is when I tried to upgrade from windows 8.1 to 10 after 30%, the installation stops and roll backs to windows 8.1, I tried this 3 times and fed up. It gave me error "The installion failed in the FIRST_BOOT phrase with an error during BEGIN_FIRST_BOOT operation".
So I tried to do a clean install, I have booted to USB key, formatted hard drive, but it gave me error "Windows cannot install required files. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code: 0x800701E3". Both the way I couldn't install windows 10.

Just purchased new PC - HP Pavilion desktop and upgraded to Windows 10 during installation. I've downloaded Google Chrome as my default search engine with no issues. I've attempted several times to download Google Earth. Download fails: "Google Earth needs administrator privileges to install."
I am the only user on this PC and User Account type indicates that I'm the "Administrator".
Why won't Google Earth install?

Is it possible, in Windows 10, to have two sources play audio in two different outputs simultaneously?
For example, I have my TV speakers, and my normal computer speakers. Could I set it so that Skyrim will output from my computer speakers, and Chrome will output from my TV speakers at the same time?
Note that I don't have a dedicated sound card, I'm just using the default onboard audio for an ASRock Z97 Pro-3.

i've installed windows 10 on linux before and i've never had any problems booting it (from what i remember, through UEFI boot sources). currently the windows 10 iso seems to be the only one that isn't appearing in UEFI; i installed peppermint from lubuntu using the same image disk writer on the same usb 30 minutes ago.am i supposed to have some specific settings enabled/disabled in my bios to boot the windows install? secure boot is disabled and legacy boot is enabled.

I'm about to do a clean install of Windows 10 pro 64bit on to a new SSD I just received in the mail and wondering how I will be able to activate it? I originally did an upgrade from Win7 Pro to Win10 pro and then a clean install from there back when Win10 pro first became available. I read that I can use the Windows Key on the back of my laptop but I'm not sure that will work because it's a whole new SSD.

My PC was running 8.1 French version converted to English version (Reseller screwed up).In practice a lot of the stuff was displayed sometimes in Eng sometimes in French. I have the 8.1 French CD.So instead of doing the upgrade which I thought would result in another mishmash of languages, I did a clean install of 10 Home Eng via USB key downloaded install media.Apart from a few video probs (BSOD) blinking cursor, all went well.I cannot use 8.1 product key to activate. Looks like I may have to buy new product key for W10.

I had a licensed windows 7 PC and did the in-place upgrade to windows 10. However my main hard drive (an SSD) is too small and I want to upgrade it. I understand that if I do a clean install (from an ISO/USB) then windows 10 should still recognise my PC as it was activated.
However, if I change the hard drive (or add memory, add a graphics card etc) does windows still recognise my PC or do I have to go through the stupidty of installing windows 7, installing the service pack, waiting for the inplace upgrade to windows 10, activating, and then wiping everything in order to do a clean install!?!?!
