I have Windows 10 64-bit, I did a clean install on a new build (SSD). I would use the Windows "move" application feature and the default download location option but Microsoft greyed out the option on the final release of Windows and nobody knows when the feature will be back.
So should I change this stuff in regedit, using this method* or what should I do?

I'm using an english windows 10 with hungarian keyboard. Not even complicated, right? My location is set to Slovakia and my problem is that the date on my lock screen is in slovak and if I install anything with "use my default language" language option it's installed in slovak. My question is: Is there any way to change the default language without changing my location?

However, downloads continue to go to C:users/myname/downloads.

Now here is my real question... on windows 10 we still can do same as i mention above for both x86 and x64. but the problem is if i change the ProgramFilesDir (x86) on windows 10 most of the things on windows 10 stop working. if i change my ProgramFilesDir (x86) :C >>ProgramFilesDir (x86) : D i can't even open the run. and most of the other stuff doesn't response correctly either
I've (install windows 10/clean install ) multiple times. after installing is done, every time i go change the ProgramFilesDir (x86). PC stops responding correctly.
I have been fighting this problem ever since Windows 7. Every time I try to access my computer from another device on my network, I find I am unable to connect. I go into the Ethernet settings, and see that Make This PC Discoverable is turned off. If I switch it on, go back, and then immediately open the settings again , it is switched off again. When I look at my Network and Sharing Center, my network is set to Public network.
The only way I've been able to successfully set it to Private and keep the Make This PC Discoverable setting turned on is to change the Category setting in the registry for my network to 1. It works, and I'm able to do whatever it was I wanted to do over the network. But then the next time I want to access my PC from my LAN again, same thing.I have tried all the suggestions I can find, most of which are mentioned here: Network Location - Set to Private or Public in Windows 8.Nothing prevents it from going back to Public again after a while.This is incredibly frustrating as it completely defeats the purpose of having a local area network!
I have a small SSD holding my OS, and a large HDD for everything else. I am trying to change the default install path to my storage drive, but when I go to settings, system, storage, I am unable to change the default install path to my storage drive (F:). Everything else (pictures, documents, music, etc.) can be changed to F:, but app install can't. I am able to manually change it while installing programs, but I would like to set it as the default.

View 1 RepliesIn previous versions of Windows, a quick registry hack has let me create my main user (after the one in C:Users created when installing Windows) in E:Users rather than C:Users.
This is the method I've used before:
Use Regedit to navigate to:

and alter ProfilesDirectory, in my case to E:Users.
Does this works in W10, or will I be a path-finder?

View 1 RepliesI recently purchased a new Dell laptop with Windows 10. I understand that Windows 10 defaults savings documents to the Documents folder on OneDrive. Every time I download documents, they get saved to OneDrive > Documents; whereas, I want them to save to the local Documents folder. I found an article that discussed how to change this by setting the Set Save Location to my local Documents folder. I did that, but Windows is not recognizing the change. Documents still get saved to OneDrive > Documents.how to fix this?
View 5 RepliesI recently upgraded one of our Windows 7 Pro computers to Windows 10 Pro. The computer has several printers attached to it. One HP networked printer and two Zebra label printers that are local via USB. Both of the local label printers are being shared through the computer so that others on the local network can use them as well.
The issue I am having since the upgrade is that when any of the other users on the network prints to one of the label printers, it changes the default printer on the hosting computer to that label printer. I can manually change the default printer on that computer back to the networked HP, but the next time some other user prints to one of the shared label printers, the default printer on the hosting computer switches the default back to that label printer.
I already turned off the Windows 10 option to manage the default printers. I've updated just about every driver I can think of, reinstalled printers, un-shared/re-shared the label printers, ran Windows updates, etc.
Right now, if you select Microsoft Print to PDF under Print, it sends the file to the Documents folder in OneDrive.

It seems the default font on this WIndows is Arial and it's really ugly, especially when reading an entire page in Chrome or in any other browser. Tried to change the font in all browsers- no result. It can change only the size- Arial still there. It bugs me that it's everywhere, even in games. This compact font in games is really annoying and made me quite after playing a few minutes. I have no problems with overlapping or unreadable font problems I've read on this forum.
View 2 RepliesI have a default printer which is a network printer for 99% of my printing. However, I do use a local printer when printing checks.
I have the default set to the network printer and that is what I have set for the past several years through Windows 7 and now with my Windows 10 setup.
Since the latest November update, my computer keeps changing the default printer back to my local printer for no apparent reason and without notice. So when I go to print something, if I don't take care to check, I send it to print on my checks.
I accidentally happened to make all my .bin files open with notepad. Ive tried to restore the default association of the .bin files through the default choice in control panel and also through regedit but without any success. how to restore the default state for .bin files.

I have this one issue. I set up Chrome as my default browser for example, or VLC as my default player for .avi, .mp4, .mkv or else.
But as soon as I will have rebooted the laptop, these settings are reset. Edge for web pages, Windows Media Player for videos etc ...

View 3 RepliesAfter upgrading to Windows 10, Outlook 2010 keeps asking how to open web links when I clicked. I keep telling him to use IE11. The registry update Looks like Microsoft removed if IE11. For if I click Edge or chrome then he start each link in Edge or chrome.
I do not want to used Edge for now until it not possible creates a simple link using drag / drop. And especially until it do not sync favorites with other machines in my park (windows 7 et windows 8.1).
This is a bug or it is by Microsoft? If this is the case, I immediately make a retro pedal to windows 7.
