Chrome And Firefox Do Not Work?
Oct 7, 2015After I upgraded my Samsung laptop from Win 8.1 to Win 10, Chrome and Firefox have stopped working. Only the browser EDGE bundled with Win 10 is working.

Jan 5, 2016I don't even have Chrome installed. as this is a clear sign of an attempt to inject Malware. Even if I had Chrome installed, I'd never consider updating through such popups.

Google Chrome - Firefox - Microsoft Edge All Not Working
Jan 3, 2016I upgraded to Windows 10! When ever I try to just simply search something in Google Chrome is search's for a minute then gives me the error WEBSITE UNAVAILABLE ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED I couldn't even search up what that meant! I only got here because it was a favorites tab.
Same thing happens on Firefox too, takes an hour to load up what I searched and gives me an error, tried Microsoft Edge and it also wouldn't load any search results. I looked around on my phone but no one really has this problem. It can't be my Wi-Fi because it is fine on every other device. What could it possibly be? I can't uninstall Chrome because how would I get it back if nothing else works?!
Things I have tried:
unchecking compatibility mode checking use hardware acceleration (in chrome settings)
unchecking use hardware acceleration running as admin clearing all history and cache (in both browsers)
running ccleaner for both browsers trying a different network restarting my computer all have not worked

Aug 10, 2015after upgrading my laptop to Windows 10 I am unable to access specific webpages. Some examples are Amazon.com, Chase.com, Cox.com. I've tried updating the network adapters, setting the DNS properties for ipv4 to manual DNS with 8.8.8.8 and alt DNS 8.8.8.4, I've tried using a windows repair to scan for issues with the registry, I've tried disabling admin approval, firewalls, and antivirus.
I'm at a loss as to why only a select few of websites I can't reach. I live with 4 roommates who each have laptops and are able to access all the mentioned websites no problem using chrome, IE, and Safari. We can all also use our smartphones to access these websites using the same wifi as my laptop with no issues.
Drivers/Hardware :: Touchpad Scroll Work In Firefox / Explorer But Not In Store / Edge?
Aug 13, 2015Lenovo Thinkpad R500 - Touchpad scroll works in Internet Explorer, Firefox, File Explorer, Device manager and some other places, but it does not work in Start menu or any menu under Control panel, Edge or Windows Store - no matter what I have tried it simply will not Scroll - There is no doubt this a BUG.
I'm guessing it a bug in windows registry, but don't know where to find it. I have been through most that has to do with ALPS. Where the registry settings for the MS software scroll option are.
Touchpad/Trackpoint: ALPS UltraNav 2 - I have the newest driver from lenovo an ALPS don't have driver download available. But can't see how its a driver issue when it works in Device manager and the other places.
I tried getting MS support engineers at MS forum, to take a look at it, but they have this attitude that its driver issue and not Windows bug. Besides that, they never read the question before dishing out some standard solution like "try going to safe mode to see if the problem persist" - That is not going to work, since the drivers that control the scroll will not load in safe mode and then scroll will not work at all, a "real" technician would know that.
Scrolling right now in Firefox - If i go to Edge or Store, its not working.
Button / Cortana And Google Chrome Won't Work
Mar 5, 2016My windows 10 button, cortana, and google chrome won't work. The image for Microsoft edge and the windows store on the taskbar are black now and also won't open. I tried using the scan in powershell and it said that it couldn't find any problems. Also I believe my Nvidia drivers need updates but they also won't open it says it had to close. I already used malwarebytes to check for malware. I'm not sure what to do its been working for the whole time I have had windows ten which has been a decent amount of time but it just yesterday started this.

Feb 10, 2016I'm going to apply to the Guinness Book of Records as I must be the only person on Planet Earth who can't get the GOOGLE CHROME browser to work on the latest version of Windows (W10 PRO X64 with all updates etc).It just sticks forever in a "Wait".Have uninstalled and re-installed several times. Amazing as I've got the browser to work on every other device I've ever tried it on.
I wanted it because of the Googlecast where I could cast the Audio output from the PC to the chromecast device. My remote TV speakers are much better than the local laptop ones -- I can stream standard Audio but I wanted to stream Internet radio which is another issue entirely. The Chrome browser does work for that (I've tested it on another PC).(The standard tunein audio feed directly on the chromecast doesn't stream HD Audio streams or FLAC - my server will decode the audio streams which can then be picked up with the chromecast dongle -- but all bets are off if I can't get Chrome Browser to work !!).
Can't Use Firefox Or IE11
Aug 8, 2015I downloaded Win 10 yesterday. Now when I put something in the search bar in Firefox or IE nothing happens. The 1st tab in Firefox continues to say New tab and does not change to what I searched for. IE states this page cannot be displayed. When I click on one of my favorites in either browser nothing happens. If I click on something in the menu bar it works. However, I cannot use either browser if the search bar does not do anything. I did download Firefox again but that didn't work. I tried changing my default search bar to Firefox but that didn't work either. Also, is there any way to get the menu bar back in Edge?

Jul 29, 2015I've tried all other browsers on Windows 10 and YouTube shows and it works. I'm on Firefox and YouTube is just a black screen with sound. I've tried on incognito as well and it's the same thing. It only works when I have "Enable hardware acceleration" turned off.

anyway, I recently had a hip replacement and have other medical issues. I desperately need to send a document that i scanned on my phone to the google drive on my new laptop.
I have the same issue with sending myself an email of my personal spreadsheets.
simply put I have gone from vista to 10, I am trying to teach myself. I use firefox now with settings to gmail. I have downloaded adobe file reader, but no matter what i do i cannot email anything using my gmail email. I do not want to use outlook
Browser/Email :: Firefox Keeps Closing
Feb 10, 2016The last 2 days FF keeps closing after 1-2mins.
I don't even get the crash report now it just closes and upon opening it takes me the restore session.
I have done a fresh install of it deleting all known traces of FF and although better it still closes but now maybe after 7-10 mins.
I'm running Win10 Pro (clean install)
I tried to do a system restore to roll back 3 days but I get an error saying it couldn't complete the restore.
I have done a full system scan with defender that took around 10-12 hours but all came back clear.
I'm using edge for now but really would like to get FF back.

Jan 7, 2016Using FF in this forum, Right click on a dropdown item (like Forum Actions, Quick Links) does not have an option to open in new tab, like Chrome for example. But, you can drag/drop the dropdown choice to the New Tab "+" on the open tabs bar, and it will open. Maybe this is old news, just wanted to pass it on..

Aug 27, 2015I noticed that I cannot paste text into youtube comments on firefox. It still works just fine on Chrome. I tried to use an addon to copy plain text only, but that didn't work, nor have I ever needed it before.
What I mean is: When I press "paste" either by right clicking or CTRL+V, nothing happens. I can otherwise paste just fine to anywhere else, just not into youtube comments...
I re-installed windows a while back and when I ran into this problem again, I decided to find a better fix.
Don't touch the firefox about:config page. This way any other functionality dom.event.clipboardevents provides doesn't break.

Dec 14, 2015I didn't like the Firefox Search Bar. I rarely used it. It takes up valuable real estate that can be used by other ADD-ONS Icons.
I Just do my searches directly in Bing or Google.
To remove the Firefox Search Bar (this actually just moves it and stores it away, you can bring it back),
-Click on the upper right menu icon (three lines).
-Click CUSTOMIZE
-Left Click, Hold and Drag the Firefox Search Bar down to the Additional Tools and Features area. It will be saved there in case you want to bring it back.
-Click EXIT CUSTOMIZE.
The Firefox Search Bar is now gone and the space can be used to add additional ADD-ONS Icons.

Jan 4, 2016Don't have this issue with Chrome or IE. When using FF (latest), any reply to a post on any thread here does NOT clear after posting the reply. I clear cache, history, cookies, everything and still "remembers" last reply entry.

Oct 7, 2015I am using Windows 10 Pro X64 official and Mozilla Firefox.
For some reason my Firefox browser is always lagging.
Chrome works fine though.
When I open a new tab, the browser starts lagging, when I open multiple tabs it's lagging a lot.
Click a link -> Start lagging.
Why is this happening? Had the same thing on Windows 7 but the lags seems more in Windows 10.

Some how appears and in IE 11 some bookmarks that I try to delete but after restart appears again. I try to delete with right click or delete the folder of favourite in my pc but every time reappears.

Dec 10, 2015I just did a "reset" of Windows 10 on a previously owned PC that was given to me. It seems to have worked fairly well at cleaning up and re-installing windows 10. The first thing I did was download and install Mozilla firefox 42.0 web browser because that's the browser I'm most familiar with using. I also switch my Windows settings to "high contrast" because I have vision problems. Everything seems to work fine except in the firefox browser when I go to certain web-pages the graphics on some web-pages aren't rendering at all, and all I get are large blank spaces where there should be graphics instead.
