View 1 RepliesAlso, icon thumbnails wont show up in folders, only on desktop when refreshed.
View 1 RepliesI have unchecked the option to 'show icons instead of thumbnails' (view>options>folder options) and I have checked 'show icons' (performance>advanced) but still I get icons instead of thumbnails. I have closed and restarted file explorer multiple times to no change. I have posted the screenshot below to show the current settings.
View 2 RepliesRecently I have downloaded the bookwalker pc application on my pc. Whenever I double click on the icon on my desktop or try to run it as admin, my cursor would show that its loading but the app never launches. The specs of the bookwalker pc app clearly states that it is compatible with windows 10, and yet it would not launch.
Here's the link to bookwalker for ref: [URL] ....
So I upgraded to Windows 10 and I was using it and shut down my computer. Now my computer turns on but won't load anything. It shows the windows loading screen for about 5 seconds and then goes blank and sits that way till I turn it off and restart.
View 1 RepliesI installed Windows 10 last week as an upgrade from Windows 7, and the internet part is working good. But something with the file explorer didn't work. The Document, Pictures, Music, and Video files are still there, but the thumbnails load slowly, or not at all. If it means anything, there's a green bar that slowly moves across the top of the screen.
View 2 RepliesIf you start up the Windows Photos app, it opens with a screen displaying all the photos in your user/pictures folder in thumbnail form which I find highly annoying. I want it to start with a blank screen. Is there a way to do this? I thought I might get it to clear up by pointing the folder it monitors to an empty folder and removing the user/pictures folder from settings but the thumbnails are still there...
View 4 RepliesSince updating to Windows 10, whenever I open file folders to view jpgs, the files' thumbnails are a generic blue mountain icon instead of thumbnails of the images themselves. How do I get the icons to go back to being thumbnail images again? Is there a command or menu option that will change this for all jpgs in my folders rather than having to change one by one?
View 5 RepliesThis happens only in file explorer. If i press right click, no matter if on a specific file/folder or just on the blank space, it will stuck on the round circle load. And it will never show up the menu, the only way to end it is to force close the explorer. Instead, if I do the same on the desktop, for example, it works perfectly.
View 1 RepliesThe mouse keeps showing busy, loading blue circle symbol when windows is not really busy. I mean i didn't doing anything but this sysmbol keep coming.
View 1 RepliesI have this constant loading going on somewhere in my computer. it interferes with my games or if I put anything to full screen it automatically pulls it out of full screen and minimizes it. It also interferes with my typing. If I'm trying to type in an address to go to a website the flashing loading will make it so I have to keep clicking in the address bar to finish typing out the address. auto saved usernames are also an issue. where I'll type the first three letters of my username. It will pull up then immediately disappear. I have to be really fast to click it or result to the constant clicking of the username bar to put my username in.
Also an issue with right clicking anything. the right click "open, delete, new folder, etc" will come up and before I can move to click what I want it disappears. I restarted my computer and it went away once. I thought the issue was resolved and paid no attention to it. I then turned my computer off and back on after a virus scan and the problem persists again. I tried turning the computer off and on again but again the problem continues. how I can find whats constantly loading/causing the flashing loading icon next to my mouse?
Laptop starts up and I wait for some time but it's still gets stuck and the loading icon appears and then I have to press the button to switch it otherwise it take ages to start.
View 1 RepliesI upgraded from Windows 7 Pro and find that the 'Show Desktop' rectangular space at the far right side of the notification area is missing although posted desktop images Windows 10 have the same rectangular space. However, if I hover the cursor over the screen border in that area for about 5 seconds the desktop appears and if I click on the border it remains otherwise it reverts to the previous screen. So, I assume that the 'Show Desktop' functionality is working OK even though the rectangular space is missing. How to restore the rectangular space?
View 3 Repliesi'm using windows 10 insider now in build 10547, recently some file with specified extension showing the wrong icon, all the wrong icon is same as in the screenshoot:
All error files have icon same like this picture, but all file is can opened with right program, the document is one of from some error file type, last time i have error with archive file and video (all extension eg: mkv, mp4, etc) but fixed when i'm install the media player, and archive file fixed when i'm reinstalling new theme in winrar application. This error can't fixed by change open with, example for my picture file, if i'm using windows photo viewer icon is error, showing icon like the above picture, then when i change open with using photos file icon is right showing the photos application like icon, if i change to windows photo viewer again then the icon wrong again. Rebuilding icon cache not fixing the problem, so what i can do? see icon like that even though the program is run correctly.
I downloaded WP10 earlier today. When I swipe down the banners all show a flashing icon and pressing them does nothing.

The little "table and chairs" icon on the task bar that would take me to a window that showed what programs were open "behind the scenes" is missing. How can I get it back?
View 1 RepliesAfter upgrading to windows 10, I was able to use it. But, when I tried turning my computer back on the next day, it would restart after the Dell loading screen would go away. It will go through this reboot cycle and never end. Ive tried pulling up the advanced boot options but it never works. The only things I can boot up are the regular boot options and the start up options. When going into the boot options I ran the scan that you can do (I forgot what it was called) and it said that everything was fine, that there were no problems. Im unsure as to why this problem started, or, how to fix it.
View 9 RepliesI upgraded two computers from Windows 7 to Windows 10. I just noticed today that a right click in a folder does not have anything other than New Folder under New. Windows 7 had several choices (Folder,Shortcut,Rich Text Document, Text Document, Wave Sound and more). My wife's W8 works properly and a W7 VM works properly.
View 2 RepliesUsing Windows 10. When I plug the camera in via USB, it recognizes the camera, but shows that there is no data on the card. In windows 8 it shows the DCIM folder where the pictures are, but Windows 10 shows an empty card with no data.
View 9 RepliesI have several computers, one laptop recently has a new problem. The internet network connection in the corner has a tiny yellow triangle and says the connection is limited and says it is NOT connected to the internet - even though it IS connected to the internet. It does this for both the wireless icon and the ethernet icon, so it can't be a driver issue.
I have rolled back the drivers, gone to the HP support site to get their drivers, updated to the latest drivers, and nothing gets rid of those triangles.
It's also not a router issue, because I have another computer on the same router with no problem on either the wifi or ethernet. I've done sfc /scannow in both safe mode and normal mode. I've looked for any errors and there are none. It is very annoying.
When opening a folder containing pictures how do I get win 10 to show a thumb nail size image...
View 3 RepliesI just received my MSI laptop with Windows 10 and I'm still feeling around on how to use the new OS (upgraded from Windows 7). I plugged in my ext. HDD and something popped up asking something along the lines of "What do you want to do with this?". I was like "Okay, everything's going fine so far."
The problem came when I wanted to eject my HDD though. I couldn't find the icon in the little notifications area with the arrow. I couldn't eject the HDD from "This PC" either. In the end, I just unplugged it, since there wasn't anything too important on it.
I've tried enabling "Quick Removal" in the device manager, but that checkbox doesn't even show up. Instead, it's replaced with the "Write-caching policy" options. I've also tried turning the notifications on in the taskbar, but that doesn't work either. I turned on task manager, safely eject..., and location, but none of them show up. I've restarted my computer as well.
When I click on my "Documents" (formerly "My Documents") folder in Windows 10, it appears to be taking a long time to download the files that are contained within it.

View 1 RepliesTwo days ago I woke up to this problem, my icon pictures are gone and I can't access properties when I right click anything. So, night before everything was fine, PC went to sleep mode, next morning i get up wake PC from sleep mode and the problem i mentioned was there. Some of the icons i used are custom and some default, so the problem is not in one of those 2 things, and since i cant access properties i figure it is some deeper issue than just icon's picture missing.
Here is the screenshot, i'll leave it like this here, too, because I am new here and not sure how attachment thing works
Where Windows 10 stores it's new folder icons. I've tried changing folder icons but I am directed back to where I'm seeing the very old icons from XP, I think.
