The issue I am having is the computer is freezing when I am playing games or have multiple instances of YouTube open. I get no error message and have to do a hard restart of my computer. I get no error messages or any indication of what the error is. I think its a graphics driver issue, a cpu issue, or a HDD issue.
My specs
AMD 9590 processor
3 year old Seagate Barracuda 1 TB HDD
16 gb Kingston Black Fury RAM
Gigabyte 990 Motherboard
Rosewill 850 watt power supply
R9 390 graphics card
Everything is new except for the hard drive, I kept that from my old computer. I did not have this issue on my old computer.
I've been having this issue for nearly a year now (probably around 9 months). It started after my little sister made me get a virus by her trying to download something onto my laptop. I've since taken it to a reputable computer shop as well as followed instructions from other computer wizs and I think it's no longer there. Issue is, my computer has kind of developed another problem after that. It freezes on it's own sometimes, when I pick it up or even when it's on a desk and immobile. It would also freeze when I play a game sometimes, loud buzzing sound as the game continues in loops I believe. I had BSOD problems earlier this year that was solved (Apparently. I haven't gotten any in about 4-5 months) when I had Windows 7 but this issue still persists.
When it would freeze and I manually turn off my computer and turn it back on, the laptop would sometimes say no wifi could be detected. At all. Not mine, not my neighbors, nothing. I've never really taken it out of the house so I don't know if it'd act the same elsewhere. I would then shut it down and take out the battery for 30 seconds before putting it back in. Sometimes the wifi would work then or I'd go connect it to my Internet Modem and the wifi would start working over there too.
So I'm not sure what's causing this problem. It's not overheating as I had it cleaned less than 4 months ago by a professional. I've had this laptop for two years and I really wanted it to last me at least 4 because I'll be going into an animation program soon and to get a laptop of the same caliber costs $1000+.
Is there anyway I can solve this freezing issue/loss of wifi on my own? I'm thinking of taking it back to the computer shop (they've had a hard time trying to find out what's wrong with it) but I'm sure they'll charge me again and I'm not willing to end up paying a lot to get this fixed. Might as well buy a new one if it costs more than $500 to fix...
P.S. I'm also having issues with my sound card where I'd plug in my headphones and it would work but when I take it out, my laptop would say it's still plugged in. Addtionally, my CD Rom Drive makes a loud sound when I try to skip through CDs and DVDs. Sometimes it won't even skip and just continue making the sound. I don't know how my laptop has gotten to this state as I've taken very good care of it (minus allowing a younger sibling to use it but you live and learn). These issues don't bother me much as I can use a DVD player for my DVD's and the sound issue isn't an issue for me. I don't really care for it since I use headphones 90% of the time or have the sound off.
I've been getting random lockups only while playing FPS games. The crashes seem to happen less if I don't run Razer synapse program. Generally they do not autorestart or BSOD so it is hard to track. Today it created a minidump.
I guess I should also mention everything is fully up to date. I don't run any antivirus and I'm pretty tech savvy. Probably has something to do with the nvidia drivers.
Since I upgraded to windows 10, I get random 0.5 seconds freezes while i play games, which run smoothly between freezes. I use an acer aspire 5742G laptop, Intel core i5 cpu 2.53 GHz, NVidia GeForce GT 540M gpu. I haven't had this problem before upgrading to windows 10. I am pretty sure overheating is not the issue - I have checked the temperatures, I also have a cooler. The problem also applies to games with low cpu usage.
after installing windows 10 (clean install) my laptop completely freezes, so far happend only while playing games. This is possibly related to nvidia gpu, because basicaly nothing else uses it. I dont get any error or bsod and nothing in the event log, it just hangs with the "bzzz" sound and i have to restart.
Games a tried playing are heroes of the storm and rocket league, got freezes playing both. Time it takes to freeze is random sometimes 10minutes and sometimes 3 hours.
My computers is crashing when I start up Final Fantasy XIV or World of Warcraft. When it first happen I check the temperature of my GTX 780 graphic card and it was overheating at 90 degrees (surprised) so I downclock the GPU putting a cap of how high the temperature can go. This has made the issue go away for about a month but the issue has return with the temperature under control at 70 degrees. When my computer crash it would most of the time just restart but a few time it gave me the BSOD, sometime the BSOD doesn't complete and freezes.
If the computer doesn't crash during about the first 5 minutes of the game, then it would not crash during the rest of the game session but tend to crash about 80% of the time I start up the game. Right now I am avoiding the crashing by playing the game at lowest setting giving my graphic card temperature at 60 degrees. Can the data you ask me to provide can confirm that the culprit is the graphic card hardware issue that is the culprit or another hardware like the power supply (Corsair Gaming Series 800-Watt ATX/EPS Bronze) that is having issue?
my computer keeps on crashing when playing games and WhoCrashed says the problem is to do with ntkrnlmp.exe. I ran the verifier and the dmp and msinfo are below.
Ever since I installed Windows 10 on release, I have been having problems with my games. Before it was just games like Counter-Strike 1.6, Half-Life 1, Half-Life 2 / EP1 / EP2, Left 4 Dead or Garry's Mod that froze my computer or sometimes it would just say "AMD driver has stopped working and successfully recovered". Last night it happened when I was playing Sonic and SEGA All Stars Racing and I was just trying to finish a race when the screen turns black and brings up a message saying "Sonic and SEGA All Stars Racing has stopped working". This has never happened to me before and I thought it had something to do with plugging my Xbox One controller in when Windows already started up when usually I just leave it plugged in before turning on my computer. I launched the game again and had Spotify playing music at the same time. I needed to check something on the internet and I pressed the Windows key and opened Google Chrome then everything stops and the music just freezes and has a constant stuttering sound. I think it could of been that the graphics card stopped working but it didn't recover.
I run Sonic and SEGA All Stars Racing in these settings:
Resolution: 640x480 @ 60Hz Widescreen: Yes Vertical Sync: No Language: English Texture Resolution: Low Shadows: Off Low Detail Models: One Player Soft Particles: No Motion Blur: No
I run Garry's Mod in these settings:

I recently built my PC straight from the build guide by Austin Evans on YouTube called the 'Neutron 2.0'. I got Windows 10 installed on my PC and it has been working poorly. Whenever I play a game downloaded from Steam, the entire computer will crash at random times, freezing and forcing me to restart the entire computer.
When I go to turn the computer back on it will repeatedly turn on and back off within a second. It will go through this cycle until I have to power down again.
My computer has been locking up recently. It seems fine until I start to put strain onto the system. This is usually done by me playing games. At first I thought it was heat and noticed my processor getting up there in temp. I went out and bought a new case and a new liquid cooling system (Something that needed to be done anyway). As I monitored over the next few days the freezing didn't stop, but my temperatures were a lot better. I did a complete reinstall of windows onto my HDD's to make sure it wasn't a driver. I did HDD's checks and nothing showed up. My next step was checking the ram. After running for 8 hours on each stick, then together, nothing showed up as an issue. I pulled out each piece to test everything, but like I said it only happens when I seem to put strain on the system. I tested both my graphics cards and I thought one was causing the issue, but it freezes on both. At this point I am at a lose as to what it could be. My thought is it might be the motherboard, but I am not sure. So I ask to you all, why is my computer locking up?

I looked in my event viewer and am seeing a lot of errors.
I have an Old Dos Game that I was able to find in bin format and was trying to figure out how to play it on Windows 10. I was trying to figure out DosBox but maybe it's just me but it's too complicated.
Here is my System: OS: Windows 10 CPU: I5 2500K MOBO: ASUS P8Z68-V/GEN3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 GPU: MSI 980TI PSU: OCZ ZT series 750 PSU RAM: 2X 4GB Kingston hyper blue 1333 SSD: OCZ Agility 3 128 GB (OS drive) HDD: samsung 1TB, WD black 1TB both are 7200 RPM Cooler: CM 212 EVO Case: Rosewill Blackhawk
When I am playing certain games, my pc will randomly reboot. no BSOD, no warning, nothing. Iv'e done the following to try and discover and troubleshoot the issue ...
-Monitored GPU & CPU temps: stays stable, happens at many different temps, but nothing high, roughly 55C or so
-disabled all overclocks: set my CPU back to normal profile and disabled GPU settings back to default
-Updated video drivers: Currently have 361.75, problem persisted on older version as well
-ran memory test: no errors found
-performed GPU stress test: never rebooted, did this for an hour
The games ive had this happen to are: borderlands 2, Firefall & GTA V (single player)
-I checked my logs and i seem to have a Kernel-power event 41 error happening.
I would like to avoid wiping my system and starting over, this is my last attempt before I go this route.
So I get those crashes where my screen freezes and then goes dark ( lost signal). It happens at random with Blade and Soul , and happens every 5 minutes with World of Warcraft.
This started like 2 months ago before that the screen would just flash and I'd get the "display driver stopped responding and recovered".
Yesterday ( 02/16/2016) I got 5 crashes and I got 1 today.
What I already tried:
A lot of different versions of AMD drivers ( using DDU to install the new ones) Reset windows 10 on a lot of occasions Removed Windows 10 auto updater. Tried the amd support forums ( it only made matters worse) Tried the World of warcraft support forums ( also only made matters worse)
My PC crashes when i play games it always crashes while playing like rocket league, borderlands 2, chivarly medieval warfare, mass effect 2 and alot of other games. When it crashes my screen changes color like green pink red white etc. after that it goes gray and then my PC goes very loud after that it shuts down and then restarts.
Whenever i try to launch a game on windows 10 i can play normally for 3-20 minutes before Windows hangs (perm Freeze) and i have to restart.
I am having this problem on all the games i have tried (roblox, besiege, terraria, minecraft, team fortress 2) except pokemon tcgo, even browser games will crash. I have reinstalled Windows several times and the problem persists even after updating drivers. My pc was originally working fine and then it started doing this afer i installed .net fremework 3.5 for a game i installed (other games where working fine).
I did once even encounter a BSOD (KMODE_exception_not_handled) sometimes it even crashes at random (i am on a clean install) after inspecting pc i found my psu fan was not working.
About 6 months or so ago i started having blue screens after months of trying to find out what was wrong i reinstalled windows and installed minimal programs unfortunately i neglected to save the old dumps so these are the only new ones i have I'm trying to make more for more information on them but for now these are all that i have. debug-DESKTOP-6VPVOCB-xxxx.zip
in the last few days when playing games (BFBC2, BF3 and Sticky Bomb), my computer has been freezing at various points (sometimes within a minute, sometimes after 2 hours), and on reboot i get BSOD sometimes with different error messages such as "system_services_exception".
After the initial reboot BSOD i seem to sometimes get a 2nd BSOD such as "system_thread_unhandled_exception", "IRQOL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" and other error messages. Occasionally after rebooting I get a freeze just on desktop screen, which never happens unless I have just had a freeze in game.
Before this started happening I have installed a new sound card and installed new drivers for my graphics card. I have since tried taking out the sound card (same problem seen) and also rolling back to the previous nvidia drivers with no avail.
I tried running memtest, but after 2 hours it was only over 50% so gave up for now, but at that point it hadn't seen any errors.
My rig is:
Asus M5A97 R2.0 16 GB Corsair Vengence MSI GTX 970 AMD FX-8350 4.2GHz Asus Xonar DGX Corsair 750Watt PSU win 10 64 bit
The games I'm getting these problems with are Killing Floor 2, Fallout 4, and GTA V. I'm not doing anything in particular to cause these crashes, they seem to just happen over a certain amount of time, with Killing Floor 2 about 15 minutes of game play.
I am having this problem with my computer, where I am getting random BSOD's when i have been playing any game for about 5-10 minutes. The BSOD is either the IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL or the APC_INDEX_MISMATCH
I have attached my debug files here : debug-DESKTOP-DQ0658B-23-09-2015_190058,20.zip
I'm pretty sure the problem originates from the Windows 10 driver for Intel HD Graphics. In short while playing video the system will occasionally hiccup and freeze for a minute or two and resume like nothing ever happened. The mouse works but keyboard, mouse clicks, touchscreen everything else including CTL ALT DEL are unresponsive. Never had this problem in 7 or windows 8, no errors recorded in the system log.
Majority of the time it occurs when playing video through VLC and through Chrome or Edge, sometimes but rarely it will freeze while in Visual Studio. I think it is a graphics driver problem mainly because Visual Studio would freeze a lot until I turned off graphics hardware acceleration.
Due to problems with BSOD's in win7 after I started playing World of Warships, I eventually ended up with my laptop not detecting my Nvidia GPU anymore. I recently upgraded to win10 and my Nvidia GPU got detected again.
Some quick computer specs:
Alienware x17 R4 Windows 10 Home-64bit Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3610QM CPU @ 2.30GHz (8 CPUs)12GB RAM Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000 / Nvidia 675M Sound Blaster Recon 3Di
The Problem:
After I upgraded to Win10 I had the problem of getting BSOD's with multiple causes after playing games using my Nvidia GPU for up to 2 hours. I started updating drivers and changing power settings and eventually it stopped for at least a week.
Sadly, it started again. The BSOD's had multiple causes and names just like in this minidump file linked.
I tried everything, a couple of examples:
- Updating all drivers (Chipsets, wireless, ethernet, GPU) - Flashing BIOS to the last version possible available on the dell website - Playing while plugged in and on battery to check a difference there - Changing stuff in the Nvidia control panel - Changing stuff in advanced power options - Updating to all sorts of Nvidia driver version, using clean installs, only Driver + Physx, and using DDU in safe mode - Probably multiple other things...
The latest thing I did was going back to the specific Intel and Nvidia drivers Dell provide on their website. Also went back to the Sound driver Dell provided (and got the control panel back of it).
But, nothing works. I've been thinking about a possible problem in my power supply... But I can't really find what the correct voltages should be. HWiNFO64 shows 12.6V on my battery, which looks a bit worrysome. But I'm not sure about the voltages of my GPU (I think I saw it avaraging around something of 0.9V or it was 9.x V or something).
