Computer Goes Into Sleep Or Hibernation Whenever Idle?
Dec 24, 2015I have all the power settings set to stay active, but the computer goes into sleep or hibernation (I do not know which) after being idle for around 20 minutes.

Aug 11, 2015As the title states, my computer will turn off the display or go to sleep (not sure of correct terminology) when I go idle for a short period of time. For instance, I get up to get a glass of water and when I come back, the screensaver is up and I need to re-enter my password. This problem arose immediately after the installing of windows 10 on my PC (upgraded from Windows 8.1).
I have already gone to control panel ~> power options but the thing is, even though I've already done that and set the options to "Never turn off display", "Never go to sleep" as shown in the screenshot, my PC still turns off display/sleeps after a short amount of time.

Hibernation And Hybrid Sleep Causing PC To Crash On Waking Up
Aug 17, 2015I had this problem when Windows 8 was new (but never had it with 8.1) and now it looks like it is back with W10.
My PC was fine up until about 2 days ago, it would go into hybrid sleep and wake with no problems but now every time I try to wake my PC the LED's, mouse and keyboard turn on but then it crashes and reboots.
I tried re-installing drivers, un-installed them, downloading them from the manufacturers websites instead of windows update but the problem remains.
I think I've narrowed down where the problem comes from and it appears to be the hybrid sleep option, disabling it and just using sleep works as expected, but if I try to use hybrid sleep....boom it happens again. I also tried enabling hibernation and that also crashes when waking up, so I assume there is a problem with the hibernation feature.

Jan 26, 2016Had this problem now since installing Windows 10 for the first time. Have re-installed 10+ times, from new downloaded ISO's with hash tag checks just to make sure. Have bought all new hardware as well; CPU, PSU, Mainboard, Computer case, CPU Fan (3 of them), problem still persists, is obviously a Windows 10 problem.

Satellite A505 S6005 Not Coming Out Of Sleep / Hibernation After Upgrade
Oct 7, 2015Ever since I upgraded from Win 7 to Win 10 my laptop (Satellite A505 S6005) will go into sleep mode without issue but refuses to wake up up. I have to do a hard power down in order for it to turn off. I've checked my power settings and everything is the same as it was for Win 7.
I found online that it seems to be a possible issue with the Intel Management Engine Interface not being the right version. I'm currently on driver version 6.0.0.1179. I've tried to upgrade it to a new version but Windows states I have the best version for my PC. Have also tried via Toshiba and Intel sites for a new version with no success. How to get a new driver version?
Time Stops When Idle / Sleep
Dec 23, 2015It has been a few days that, everytime i go to sleep or afk, the time stops and I have to set it back when I'm back !
For instance, yesterday i left at 0:12am and today the time was stuck at 00:50 or something like that. So what I did is go to time settings to uncheck then check again the "set automatically" button.
I don't know what to do, I already tried to completely reset my pc but it didn't change anything to that problem ..

Oct 5, 2015First off my computer has always worked fine when going idle, the computer would go into sleep mode after an hour or hibernation mode which ever one, when the computer seems to be off when its not and power light blinks. About three days ago my computer started acting weird when i let it go idle instead of it cutting off after sitting the monitor will say no signal but the computer will still be running fans on and everything, if i click on the mouse or press buttons on keyboard nothing happens only thing i can do is cut off the computer or press the reset button on the case. I don't know why it started this all of a sudden but I don't like having to turn off and on by the power button when it does this.

I havent caught it in the act so I don't know exactly what it does when it restarts. I changed the update settings to notify me before restart so that shouldn't be the issue in this case.

Sep 26, 2015I am running windows 10 and I've been getting these blue screen errors .. It usually happens when my computer is left idle for over 10-20 mins.. It displays a blue screen and then restarts. At first i had no clue . Later i checked the minidump folder and i found those BSOD log files. I've uploaded my system zip file as per the instructions. Before i used to get these errors while playing games but now they are even more frequent. As soon i leave my pc idle or doing some work and im away i encounter this bsod.

Aug 9, 2015This started last week, after the power flickered a few times during a storm while I was on my computer. I began to notice that when I would take longer than a 10-15 minute break and leave my computer idle I would come back to the sign in screen.
I tested all my hardware and everything seems perfectly fine. I manually ran automatic maintenance and my PC restarted shortly after. I assume that when automatic maintenance would run while my computer was idle it would cause my pc to restart.
The question is, how can I disable automatic maintenance? I looked in task scheduler but there is nothing under Task Scheduler > Microsoft > Windows > Task Scheduler. How can i disable automatic maintenance on Windows 10?

Dec 15, 2015When I first bought this desktop, after the prescribed amount of time of inactivity (it may be something like 15-20 minutes), the computer would go to sleep.As I've used it more, I've added a few different software items here and there. This computer is mainly used for school and leisure work, so there are no "heavy duty" programs on there. Recently, however, I've noticed that the computer will continue to stay on and the fan running (or something is humming) all of the time. Is there a way to check what program may be running that makes the computer think there is activity, when there is none?

Everything work fine except when I want to shutdown or put the machine to sleep by clicking on those options, the machine makes noise like the HD is working. It then just shuts down and reboots again. The only way I can shut it off is by using the button on the computer.

Jan 19, 2016After I upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10, my sleep feature quit working properly. There was a point in time a couple months back it did work, but since I hardly use it I didn't notice a problem. Recently I decided I'd start using it, and that's when I noticed the problem. When I go to sleep mode, it goes to sleep, but than when I bring it out of sleep mode it just restarts. I don't get any kind of error message at all, and as far as I can tell my power settings are set right. One suggestion I found suggested to revert my driver for Intel Management Engine Interface from version 10 or 11 to 9.5. I just reformat my hard drive and start over. I'm trying to avoid that at all costs. I see suggestions on the settings in BIOS. Which settings in particular should I look to change?

Jan 25, 2015It is fitting that I should start this discussion on the new Win10 site. With the latest update to 9926, I finally got the sleep menu to show up (updating the graphics driver) but the computer will not automatically go to sleep at the appropriate time. The other versions worked. I doubt this will last as I expect more updates to fix this but so far, the usual suspects have been tried and it is non functioning.
The sleep button and the power button set to sleep work fine. So far, nothing has woken it up but I have a sneaky suspicion that Homegroup now wakes up the computer when another machine asks for its shared folders.

Aug 9, 2015I hear the computer turn back on and the light is on, but the screen is still black. My mouse and keyboard are unresponsive (can't turn backlight on). I have to do a hard shut down. When it's back on, it's like it woke up from sleep mode, not a fresh restart.
This just started happening today I think so I did a system restore, but the problem persists. The only thing I remember doing today was updating my ATI drivers.

Oct 9, 2015How do I prevent my computer from going into a deep sleep after inactivity?
I have hybrid sleep off. Whenever I try to wake it up, it doesn't respond to any of keys except for the power button. That leads me to thinking it's been shut down, crashed, or is in a deep sleep. I don't think it has crashed.
Do I need to disable hibernation? If so, how do I turn it off permanently?
