View 1 RepliesMy issue here is that windows update is stuck at 0% and not downloading anything.
No updates are installed yet, none. I have tried going through a long process of deleting SowftwareDistribution folder and I have used windows updatediagnostics. Nothing works. In addition to that every time at boot and before shutting down it displays "Getting Windows ready. Don't turn off your computer" for a short period.
I've discovered that the Win 10 November update is listed but is completely stuck at "downloading update" and never gets any further.
I've run "Troubleshooter" which found a couple of problems and fixed them but still no November update and i also see that the latest February update has "failed" as well.
Everything i try doesn't start the updates so i'm at a complete loss at what else to do.
I have windows 8.1 and I DON'T want windows 10. It is already downloading. I can see green downloading bar in windows update. I had w10 but it was so buggy that I don't want it again. How do I stop is downloading?
View 3 RepliesI've been having trouble with Windows Update recently:
* Three updates were stuck on downloading at 0%
* Rebooting the laptop resulted in it getting stuck at the "Getting things ready..." screen
The fix was actually pretty simple:
1. Reboot your computer
2. Open Explorer and navigate to C:WindowsSoftware Distribution
3. Open an elevated command prompt (Admin)
4. Run these two commands:
-net stop wuauserv
-net stop bits
5. Select all files in abovementioned folder and delete them
6. Make sure to empty the trash afterwards
7. Reboot and run Windows Update again
That way I was able to fix my Windows Update process that has been stuck for more than a week now. It immediately found many more updates to install, downloaded them and installed them just fine.
So I recently just got windows 10 and I must say I really like the OS. But I've came across one problem that I can't seem to fix I cant seem to get .NET frame 3.5 to download it either gets stuck on Downloading or gets stuck on searching for files. So far I've trying downloading it through the game I want to play (RUST). And trying to download it in Control Panel Programs Turn Windows features on or off ...
View 1 RepliesI've got 6 different app updates that seem to be stuck in the pending/downloading step in the app store. These are mostly updates to MS apps like Mail/Calendar, Solitaire, Camera, OneNote and Get Office plus a major update to VLC.
There's no error messages, just no progress downloading after several hours. This has probably been an issue for days now considering when these updates were officially announced.
Since installing Windows 10 I can't download pictures from my digital camera to my computer. What can I do to fix the problem...
View 9 RepliesShortly after the "Get Windows 10" icon appeared in the system tray of my Win 8.1 installation, I made the mistake of clicking on the "Get Windows 10" icon and "reserved" my copy of Windows 10. After some research, I elected to cancel my reservation for Windows 10 and did so by again clicking the "Get Windows 10" icon and going through the process to "cancel" my reservation. (I subsequently read Brink's fine post on "Get Windows 10 Icon -Remove from Taskbar in Windows 7 and 8.1" and did option four to uninstall the KB3035583 update). Now when I go to windows update and "search for updates", the search result is "install windows 10" though it does allow me to view "all available updates" which includes numerous "important" security updates as well as a few "optional" updates, one of which is Windows 10. I select the "important" updates, deselect the optional updates (including windows 10), and click install then get a dialog that "Windows 10 setup files are being downloaded" and an option to "cancel" (which I do). How do I stop Windows Update from downloading Windows 10 setup files and just download the "important updates" to secure my present installation of Win 8.1?
View 9 RepliesI think the "updates freezing" issue has come up in another thread but I can't find it momentarily.
The screen shots show what I've been looking at for two days now. Obviously something is amiss with Automatic Update but I dunno what, or what to do about it.
Windows Update has been stuck at 0% every time I've tried in the last couple of days (see screenshot). These are the two updates available:
Security Update for Internet Explorer Flash Player for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3103688).
Cumulative Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3105213).
Reading this [URL] there is a troubleshooter which I have downloaded and run. According to that there are drivers for my HP 710C and D1460 printers waiting at windows update but it is not downloading and installing them.
I have enabled automatic driver installation and wu is set to automatic, yet no drivers.
windows update is stuck for months on 25%, is this problem known? or is there a way to reset it?
View 1 RepliesI began an update for windows 10 and it has been stuck at 59% for hours is that normal or is it frozen and if it is frozen is turning my computer off and back on going to damage it? What should I do. This is on a brand new computer .
View 1 RepliesI just bought a new Lenovo computer with windows 8,
I upgraded to 10 as soon as I got it.
now when I'm trying to open a folder or save a word file or even open a chrome - the computer get stuck.
I cant tell if it's a computer issue or windows,
I hooked up my computer to my TV with my VGA cable. After a few seconds, the screen glitched and it was later stuck on the left.

View 9 RepliesI am having problems installing Windows 10 updates...... again.
This update is dated 29.10.2015 and consists of 2 updates.
KB 3105210 states "waiting for download" and KB 3106932 states "waiting for installation" It has been stuck on this for several hours and my attempts to use the repair tools have failed to resolve the problem.
Cumulative update for Windows 10 version 1511 (KB3116908) gets stuck 'waiting for download'
Troubleshooter found no errors.
Windows 10 is set to automatic updates. It was trying to get the Windows Defender Update KB2267602 for two days but the message was always "waiting for server". This has now disappeared from the update screen and does not appear on the installed updates. Is this a problem?
View 2 RepliesI've been trying to update my windows 8.1 to Windows 10 for at least 10 times now and it always stuck at around 60% It reboots itself a few times and it always comes back to the circle screen with the % progress but getting around 60% it reboots and it gets stuck there... black screen, no cursor, no sound.
I've tried to plug it into a secondary screen thru hdmi but nothings happens; also I've uninstalled my antivirus since I've read it might be the problem but it didn't work..
I've got a Dell Inspiron 7537 Windows 8.1 x64 Intel Core i7, 8gb ram, Intel HD Graphics 2gb + Nvidia GeforceĀ
So far no real issue's to report running Windows 10 I really love it but here is my issue. Windows update has been stuck at 45% for the last 3 hour's and usually my updates go pretty quick. I've tried rebooting my system to see if the updates will finish installing but then it goes right back to 45% and stay's there.
View 5 Repliesso i installed windows 10 this morning and it went through the steps and got to a point in the install that says "Hi there, welcome back!" with a "next" button in the bottom right of the screen. When i click it nothing happens. If i click on the screen after about a minute it goes lighter blue and then reboots back to the very same screen.
View 24 RepliesConfiguring update for windows 10 is stuck at 55%. This is the second time I am trying to update from w8.1, the first time it ended with a blue screen (power state failure).
I have a hp laptop
4th Gen i5
4gb ram
And more than enough storage available.
I just downloaded the update and when rebooted to install it. It got stuck at 40%. Is it the problem with Dell Venue Pro 8 in general or just me?
View 2 RepliesAfter restarting to start the upgrade to Windows 10 (from Windows 8.1), it's been stuck at 38% in the Configuring updates for windows 10 screen for about 3 hours now, and I'm not sure what to do. Is a reboot safe?
