Cortana UTC Time Is Incorrect
Aug 25, 2015My system time is correct (Central Time Zone + Daylight Savings Time). Cortana is displaying UTC -4 - it should be UTC -5. How do I correct?

Feb 10, 2016This seems simple, but I can't find any way to get it right. Cortana can't seem to tell me the right time.
I live in Ypsilanti, MI. Somehow Cortana thinks I live in Ypsilanti Twp., ND. So when I ask her what time it is, she's giving me a time from the North Dakota time zone, which is an hour behind my Michigan time zone.
The clock on my computer has the correct time and time zone.
I ensured that the address settings in my Hotmail account is correct.
I ensured that my Bing settings knows my correct address.
I added my address to Favorite Places in Cortana and set it as "Home".
Nothing seems to get Cortana to give me the right time (or home location).
So where do I go to correct my home location for Cortana?
Keeps Saying Incorrect Password?
Aug 1, 2015I downloaded and installed Win10 and I was able to use my computer normally. Ran CCCleaner. Now, after entering the same password I've used for years, the screen keeps saying it is incorrect. I changed passwords and retried with no luck. So my computer is useless as I can't get to my desktop to make any security changes or uninstall Win10.
how to get a restore disk to reinstall (would this even work?) I'd like my desktop computer back !
Incorrect Shut Down And Start-up
Aug 17, 2015I mean this happens every one or two shutdowns and startups.What happens is when I try to shutdown, Windows appears to have shutdown. Screen is not detecting anything (Because technically nothing is running) but the only difference is, my entire computer is still running. I am not sure how this is possible but I can confirm this is a Windows 10 unique problem.And now consecutively, after this 'incorrect' shutdown. When I try to boot up, when it gets to the Windows loading spinning beads screen, the computer shut's down abruptly. And I have to boot it up again. This sort of things happens every few cycles and is 100% identical to the last one.I have tried a clean windows 10 install (Formatted my SSD) and the EXACT same thing occurs.I also cannot update to the latest update as it gets to a certain percentage, around 20% and restarts with a message saying it couldn't complete the update and it is undoing changes.
All the outlined problems aren't critical and are definitely unique to my computer. Because I have Windows 10 on my other machines, and they can update and do everything just fine thus far.

After Successful Upgrade Can't Log In - Password Is Incorrect
Aug 1, 2015Getting error message, "That password is incorrect. Make sure yo're using the password for you Microsoft account. You can always reset it at account.live.com/password/reset."
I just upgrade after purchasing this laptop 2 days ago. After the first restart of the successful upgrade I can't log in. I'm using the right password and have changed it and used that with no success. I can't do anything with this computer and like I said just bought it and need it for work.

Sep 12, 2015I reset my boot using a command prompt, so that it would next boot into safe mode.
However at the flash screen which requests my PIN, it now says my PIN is incorrect and so I cannot complete the boot at all, either in safe mode or otherwise!
I was hoping to use safe mode to investigate why Devices and Printers hangs without reaching any display - but now I am completely locked out of the computer.
It is a 3.6GB desktop running Win 10. I have just previously run scannow to check that system files are OK, and found no discrepancies.

Feb 10, 2016I don't know what I'm doing wrong, it seems I can't login with a local account. When we install Windows 7, it create a local account with administrative privileges. Usually I name that account LocalAdmin.
I was trying to to the same with Windows 10. I created a local account with the Computer Management MMC Console, named it LocalAdmin and put it in Administrators group.
At the logon screen, I click on "Other user", I enter the username this way MachineNameLocalAdmin and the password.
Everytime Windows 10 throw the error : "The username or password is incorrect. Try again."
How come we can't log on locally anymore???!

Jan 14, 2016When I attempt to login to Win 10 I am unable to log in on my desktop computer. It gives me the message, "incorrect password." I am having no problem logging in with my laptop. The password is acceptable. I have tried resetting the password through the desktop but it requires a password disk which I don't have. I changed the password on the laptop however the laptop continues to work and the desktop gives me the "incorrect password" error.

Aug 1, 2015I am using am iMac with Bootcamp running Win 7. I have just upgraded to Win 10 with no problems. Except I can now not read my 2 x WD USB external drives. I am getting "the parameter is incorrect" error. In disk management it says the drives are active but RAW. If I connect the 2 drives to any other machine either Win 7 or 10 they are fine, so no fault with the drives. These 2 drives have always been used on the PC in question when running Win 7.
I have tried changing the drive names etc but still cannot read.
My only solution may be to connect the drives to another PC, back up, then format the drives?

Nov 13, 2015Yesterday I installed Windows 10 Professional on my Acer Aspire V5-573G laptop. I installed the English (US) version even though I live in the Netherlands. When I corrected the time I have set it to the correct timezone (see screenshot) but it has the wrong time connected to it. As seen on the screenshot the time displayed is 21:49 even though when I took it, it was actually 13:49. Off course I could manually change the time, but I was wondering if maybe this is part of some bigger problem and if there is a better way to fix it.

Jan 16, 2016I have an odd issue where a Samsung SSD that is no longer in my system is still showing. The weird thing is if I bring up the properties, and then populate the fields of the drive (by pressing the populate button), it shows the capacity of the newer drive which is double the size. This drive is not a Samsung drive though. So I'm not sure what's going on here - see picture where it clearly states (at the top) that I'm looking at the properties of a 250GB Samsung drive, but the populated fields show it to be a 480GB drive.

Aug 3, 2015This has never happened to me before upgrading to windows 10. 2-3 times a day my internet connection simply turns off for no reason. If I unplug the ethernet cable and plug it back again it works fine like normal again. This seems pretty weird and I don't know why is it happening.
PS: I have a laptop and my internet actually works fine on my brother's windows 7 laptop even when it turns off for me, so it's windows 10 problem.

Jul 31, 2015I already have a Microsoft account that I've been using for some months with OneDrive. When I start Cortana it requires me to log into that account. I do so, but then it pops up a screen telling me to "Enter your old password one last time", and then "From here on out, you'll unlock this device using the password or PIN you just set up.
Before we can say goodbye to your local password, you need to provide it one last time." It then gives me another password box and says "(leave blank if none)".
But it won't let me leave it blank, and when I re-enter my Microsoft account password, it tells me its incorrect...even though it works fine with OneDrive. What PIN it refers to, nor what it is trying to accomplish...but it has stopped me trying out Cortana.
