When using the "Hey Cortana, play my music" feature in Windows 10 it doesn't work. Cortana displays the "Playing your music" screen, much like on my phone, and then comes another message that says "Sorry, there's no music on your device." I'm on my PC and have plenty of music, all which are located in my music folder.

I could send and receive files to and fro via Bluetooth and the phone also gets connected/paired without any issues, but the music playing option is not happening. My previous OS win 7 had no problems in playing the music.I have a dell inspiron 15R laptop and asus zenfone 4 mobile.My phone specs shows it supports A2DP ( and it used to play in win 7).

I have downloaded a Wav file (thefreesite.com), added this file in a sound scheme (mail notification), tested it, saved it as modified scheme, but the sound doesn't play at all (when mail arrives). View 9 RepliesI set up a wake-up alarm in the Computer management --> Task Scheduler that automatically plays a custom mp3 every morning at 7AM.The speaker is in my monitor and it goes sleep 10 min after idle. It's ok, I don't want to keep it turned on for whole nights. But, when the scheduled alarm comes, it does not automatically turn back on the monitor and therefore its speaker doesn't play the MP3 because the monitor remains in sleep.I tired various ways to make the alarm turn the monitor back on but failed.I just need my music file played as an alarm in the mornings.

I can add this a loacation for Groove to get it's music from but while it accepts this is doesn;t actualkly find any music even though it's there. Odd thing the old 'Music' app did work after the upgrade to 10 but then seemed to stop after the recent update when I think 'Groove' replaced it.I found this on a MS article: If you have music stored on a network or network access storage (NAS) drive:To use a network drive with the Music app:

Updated to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1 two weeks ago.
Had problems with Firefox. Tried to download to replace existing Firefox. CNET site appeared to be correct but something seemed wrong so I killed the download. But.
- The windows start menu doesn't come up when I click on the icon, but if I right-click, a text menu does appear and lets me, for example, shut down.
.- If I click on the Windows End icon in the task bar, the screen flashes but End does not come up. Ditto for the Windows Store icon.
- Somewhere SpyBot S&D was erased, but I was able to download it.
- If I double-click on a photo in Windows Explorer, I get a popup that lists the name of the jpeg and says Invalid Entry to Registry. If I right click on the photo and go to any of the options the photo is opened except if I choose Photo.
- Firefox cannot properly display the Yahoo mail page, though Pale Moon and Opera can.
- I have Avast Anti-Virus and MalwareBytes Anti-Malware and when I run their scans, they find no issues.
I am using Media Monkey on my PC. I am able to see the location of some of my music however when I navigate to the folder C:UsersStuMusic there is nothing there.

During instalation store app crashes, theres no error numer. Also I have a problem with msn weather tile, the live tile works only on medium size.
View 2 RepliesMy computer is only a month old and I am starting to have errors after a few hours of the computer running regardless of what I have been doing. It gets as bad as not being able to open games at all. It's only after 3 or 4 hours of it running though. I noticed adobe flash player will stop working then I won't be able to stream music then games will freeze when you open them. Once I do a restart everything works perfectly again.

Temps are mostly below 160 other than 1 spot on the motherboard that reaches 220f during gaming. It doesn't get that hot when I am using Microsoft Word but it still slows down after a while.Temps checked with a hardware monitoring program. (Hwmonitor I think)

I want to convert some of the WMA to MP3 so I need to see the file extensions. How do I see music file details?? How do I turn OFF Contextual Tabs??
View 4 RepliesSomehow, I've managed to set the location for Music & Pictures to the same location i.e. K Drive.
Restoring to default locations makes no difference, or should I say that whatever change I do to Music is replicated in Pictures & visa versus.
How to sort this out.
I followed the directions given by Microsoft here, but I'm having problems because the folder my music is on is on the D drive. OneDrive is installed on the C drive. OneDrive only seems to read data off the drive it is installed on so it doesn't see my music.
I tried installing the OneDrive software to my D drive, but it just kept crashing.
I tried just manually dragging and dropping the music folder onto the OneDrive using Chome, but it stopped once it hit the 15 GB storage limit. I have 40 GB of music.
I thought I read that you can upload up to 50,000 songs and it won't count against your OneDrive storage, but I'm not having luck with this as it is counting it against my total space even though I am putting everything in a folder named Music on the OneDrive.
I deleted all my music acidently is there any way to recover it.

View 4 RepliesI have a slight delay when playing music after I haven't touched my laptop for a few minutes. It's as if the HDD goes to sleep and it has to spin up again before it can play the file. Now I know getting a SSD would solve my problem, but I can't afford that right now.
I have set my Hard drive to never go off in the power settings, but it doesn't solve my problem.
There is a great feature in win7 explorer that you can arrange your music in the music folder by a few options such as albums, genre and artist. There is a way to get it again in win10 explorer?
