View 2 RepliesCumulative Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3116869). Keep getting "Failed to install on (date)". NO other updates will download, either. Everything seeps to be stuck. Get the message: "There were problems installing some updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may work:" The update troubleshooter finds no problems. I have tried to reset the Update process per the instructions supplied by Microsoft. No results there, either. Long story short, I'm not able to get any updates.

My test computer (specs follow) is stuck at build 10586.11 I cannot install any cumulative upgrade, they all fail and Windows Update undoes any change to the system. In order to be able to install any other update I have to use the show/hide tool to hide the cumulative updates. My main computer (see my specs) and several of my friends have no problem upgrading up to 10586.36, but this particular one fails for some reason. I already tried to disable some devices in Device Manager and disable some services and startup applications, nothing worked.
Specs of my test computer that has the issue:
Computer: Custom-build server system
Motherboard: Supermicro PDSG4 (Intel socket 775)
Chipset: Intel Glenwood 955X (supports up to Pentium D dual-core CPU socket 775, not newer models)
CPU: Intel Pentium D 945 3.40GHz dual-core socket 775
RAM: 4GB DDR2 667MHz (4x 1GB modules in dual channel mode)
Graphics: XFX GeForce 7300GS
SATA Controller: Intel ICH7R with RAID support
SCSI Controllers: Adaptec 7901 Single channel Ultra 320 SCSI & Adaptec SCSI RAID 20105/Supermicro AOC-LPZCR supported
LAN: Intel 82573V PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller
Audio: Realtek AC'97 audio high quality 6-channel sound
OS: Windows 10 Pro TH2 build 10586.11 32-bit English US
I have already hidden the Realtek AC'97 audio driver update which is known to cause BSOD, so this is not causing the issue.
My mouse is moving jerky after cumulative update, no matter what I use - touchpad or mouse. The only place where it's works fine - task manager. In explorer, in apps, in games it's always moving jerky.
View 8 Repliesafter applying the latest cumulative updates IE11 is now broken on my system (W10 pro X-64)..Often the Main (home page) of a site works but as soon as you link to other links in the site garbled text often appears. Here's an example from BBC website. Main news page opens but link to a story and One can partly fix by pressing F12 and setting IE compatibility to IE10 or IE9.

View 6 RepliesI have a Surface Pro 2 (on the Insider Program) trying to download the "Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based systems (KB3116908)" update. I keep getting the above error (0x80070570) when it tries to download. I feel like I read something about this somewhere on here, but I can't seem to find anything relative to my circumstances when I search for it. My wife is wanting this Surface Pro when I upgrade!!!

View 2 RepliesI'm updating from 10041 to 10061 and every time get the "oops something went wrong..." message with no error code around 30~40% into installation. Any remedy or am I not the only one?
View 6 RepliesI have Windows 7 Pro on a Dell 5420 laptop. I've tried the upgrade multiple times and it always gets to 84% and then the screen goes black/blank. It sits there for upwards of a couple hours. After that it reboots and says Restoring previous version of Windows and I end up back at Windows 7.
I don't know if there's any logs somewhere I could check to try to figure out what the problem is.
Do I have any options for upgrading this laptop if the update from 7 to 10 won't work? From what I've read I need to get the in place update to work in order to get a valid Win 10 key so I might be screwed...?
I'm getting this error while trying to preview a PDF in Outlook 2013, using Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.0 as the default.

View 1 RepliesI upgraded to windows 10 today. but the update failed and I got a boot phase error. soon after my system reverted back to windows 7, but it took 4 minutes for my system to actually get to the welcome screen, and it's been doing that since my attempt at upgrading, could this be a result of hard drive falliure or just the OS? should I do a clean install?
View 1 RepliesI don't really know whats going on but I wiped my old system, re installed win 7 and then upgraded to win 10 and now my oc motherboard bundle keeps failing. I can use the computer for 10 to 20 mins and then it powers itself down resets and comes up with a message saying the settings have failed, if I re load the profile and reboot the comp will work until I turn it off for the night and then the same problem following day.
The bundle worked fine since I purchased it at the beginning of the year and is oc through bios by overclockers uk so I thought it didn't make any difference what os I used....

So I've had this computer for about a year now. I made it from used parts but in very good condition. Recently, I just turned it off, and when I turned it back on, an error popped up, something like winboot.exe, it doesn't really matter.
I tried to do a clean install of win 10 and win 7, and both times my SSD didn't have a partition.
I didn't delete it beforehand so it was weird.. And when I try to create a new one, an error pops up and I can't create it.. I did a clean install on a new HDD and the windows works, I just miss the boot speed..
whenever I try to install the AMD drivers either via running the installer or auto detect, in the end I'm getting a message saying files did not install and to check the log file. I've got an Asus r9 280x. Control panel says "microsoft basic display adapter" under display adapters.
View 1 RepliesMy wife's Samsung laptop gets a failure whenever trying to do an image backup. Actually, this has been happening for quite a while - even before she installed Windows 10 when she had W7. I was hoping that the problem would go away with W10 but it hasn't. Backup runs almost to the end and then fails with the attached message. The message says to run dskchk on both her drive and on the backup drive which I did. No problems were found. (I backup my desktop on that drive all the time with no problems.) I tried backing it up on another external drive that also tests good but got the same error message.
View 9 RepliesI have 3 drives. A 60GB Intel SSD which my OS is installed on, a Samsung 120GB SSD which has just games, and a 1TB HDD for all my other media and documents. A while back my power cut out and when trying to reboot it would fail until I tried booting from my 120GB SSD, which didn't make much sense as my OS is my 60GB Intel SSD. After that I had no issues for a long time until recently where my computer (after updating overnight is my guess) wasn't booting until I tried booting from my 1TB HDD, which confused me even more as again my OS is not installed on my HDD. And now I'm basically in a situation where my PC will boot every once in a while FROM the 1TB, today it wasn't booting from any drive for a while until I unplugged and replugged the SATA cables from all of them then tried again. I have a backup of my OS on a hard drive and made a system repair disk for windows 10.
View 1 RepliesThe upgrade to Windows 10 from Windows 7 x64 keeps failing. I get this error code: C1900204.
I have tried removing the folder and executing the command. Keep getting this error: C1900204.
My backup is failing ( three times) with 0x80780065.
There are three backup sets
EXTERNALDRIVEFranksBackupsFRANKSPCBackup Set 2015-06-01 070022 98,038 Files, 536 Folders
EXTERNALDRIVEFranksBackupsFRANKSPCBackup Set 2016-01-21 181147 691 Files, 7 Folders
EXTERNALDRIVEFranksBackupsFRANKSPCBackup Set 2016-03-04 160552 376 Files, 5 Folders
I would like to delete all three backups and start over using the windows 7 backup and restore offered by win 10 backup. Is this a viable plan?
I have reserved my copy of Windows 10 and have attempted five times to upgrade but it just keeps failing.
The error code is: 80240020.
I have made sure that my laptop meets the specification, which is does, and also the disk space on my harddrive too.
Upgraded to W10 on Surface Pro3 and it seems Outlook 2013 SMTP emails failing to send. emails send OK on other devices and all OK via Outlook web.
When testing the setting in Outlook test email send OK but when going back into the email account email fails to send with following error:
Task 'email address' - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC13) : 'Cannot connect to the network. Verify your network connection or modem.' Used different network connections with no success.
I'm still not certain if the new builds that come out,( eg 10586.36, and now 10586.63) also contain all the latest Windows security updates as well? (not referring to defender updates I know they are distinct)
I've noticed that my Windows 10 PC (which had 10 installed from new, it is NOT an upgrade) has the latest build 10586.63 but I don't see any separate windows security updates coming along with them. Is having the latest build number 10586.63 mean that the OS has all the up to date security updates as well, including the .net security updates....
I've been struggling for a while with KB3093266 not installing, and now KB3097617 won't install either.
They download and do the install prompt, then restart. But upon restarting, it says the updates have failed and reappear in Windows Update. Tried the standard troubleshooter, and by resetting WU to no avail.
i'm having an issue with downloading apps from win 10 store. That is bassicaly what i get every single time. They did provide me with steps to follow, first two didn't find/fix any issues, third one i couldn't execute due to an error which i don't understand and therefore cannot fix on my own.
