Is there a mod or something out there (or a registry edit maybe?) that will make the profile pictures for accounts square instead of circular, and use a transparent background? I have a custom image I'd like to use, but it gets rendered with a black background and parts get cut off by the circle.
View 5 RepliesI'm asking is if there is a way to make the Windows 10 taskbar completely transparent so it eliminates the bar at the bottom of the screen. I've used 2 different programs to make it clear, but both also changes the Windows start place back to the windows 7 version. These 2 programs were Startisback plus plus and Classic Shell. I would not mind downloading another application as long as I have the option to keep the windows 10 start the same.

View 6 RepliesOn the start menu each application / file has an associated icon. Unfortunately it appears that Windows 10 is using the accent color as the icon's background. So I get squares of color with the icon in the middle. There are screen shots from Windows 10 previews that show the icon backgrounds as transparent, or at least matching the background color of the start menu. But with transparency turned on, the icon backgrounds are not transparent, but instead the accent color.
It is as if Microsoft said "Hey - ALL icons should be SQUARE - so we will make all icons SQUARE just like tiles, whether you like it or not".
So - how does one make the start menu icon background color transparent?
Windows 8.1 had a guest feature you could enable or disable. I cannot find one on windows 10.
View 9 RepliesI went to settings / personalization / background and browsed to change my background picture to one that I had on my hard drive.
I was not satisfied so I went back to settings / personalization / background. The original picture that I wanted, was no longer there.
The original 5 have been depleted by my 2 poor choices. Where are the original background pictures located so that I can restore my background?
I have many folders with photos and want to run a slideshow of all of them but when I choose 'Pictures' Windows 10 will not show anything. I have to pick one folder. That folder will run nicely, but I would like to include ALL folders.
View 4 RepliesIt used to be in Personalization under themes. It permitted you to open the current theme and edit (add or remove pictures) from the theme. The function seems to have been left out in Windows 10, and was available in previous Windows versions.

View 2 RepliesOn my desktop themes, I use pictures in a folder. In Windows 7 and 8, I was able to randomize these pictures, but I have not found such a feature in Windows 10. Did they take that feature out, or am I just missing it?

View 4 RepliesBasically I've been doing some serious customisation to my media folders.. I've arranged everything where I want them from movies to TV and animated TV. I've even go as far as to put artwork on all folders.. For example in my marvel folder I've got an Marvel Cinamatic universe logo set and inside all the films have the did covers set.
I've been adding this artwork by right clicking the folders the films are inside. Going to customisation tab and selecting older pictures, which I then set a picture I've saved of the film cover..
My issue is that 2 times now I've gone through setting all this up to look nice and randomly when I restart the computer most of the artwork disappears from the folder and it goes back to the Windows default folder picture with just the media logo inside it..
Why this keeps happening and how I would stop it from forgetting the picture I've set up? It's really annoying having to set it all back up again and again for each individual folder and so time consuming!!
So I want to see all of the lockscreen pictures for Windows 10 but can't find them.

View 1 RepliesIn W-7, I could go to the "Change the visuals and sounds on your computer" and click the "Desktop Background" Slide Show. once there, I could check or uncheck the pictures I wanted.
In W-10, when I click "Desktop Background", I get the "Background" "Preview" window. There's no handy access to the pictures in the selected screen.
The "Chose albums.....", DesktopBackground", Browse would probably get me to where the actual pictures are if I knew where they are.
It use to be very simple.
I can't find the lower panel in the Personalization view. The one where I can select or deselect pictures in a saved theme. I see it on my work desktop running Pro but not on a Home machine.
View 1 RepliesI'm a bit confused about the terminology of background pictures, themes and Spotlight picture. When the computer hasn't been used for a specified time, my screen savers start. If I go back to the computer and move the mouse my screensaver goes away and another Windows picture fills up the desktop. I believe this is called the Spotlight but I could be wrong.
This Windows picture used to change. Since I did a clean install of Windows 10 this picture does not change. How do I get it to change? I used to see several different pictures in random order.
As title says, how do I change the settings in a Theme, desktop picture seems to change every 15 minutes, can I change this in the settings somewhere so it changes every 5 minutes or is it just through the registry like in Windows 7 ?

On Windows 10 I have an issue of the 'blank icon' being black on my desktop.
I just don't get it.. I have tried clearing my thumbnail cache, all the 'blank icon' options, made my own icon, and have been scouring the internet.
I'm trying to make a headline that says "News and Sports" and I'm clicking everywhere on the menu area. It will not let me type anything???
View 1 RepliesAll of the grey variants in 'Colors' make the Taskbar really dark/black, but ever since Windows 7 I've had a light grey taskbar so it feels like I've lost a very old and trusted friend.
I've tried Winaero Tweaker but I've only managed to get it to change my explorer accent colour - the taskbar stays stubbornly black.
How does one make more folders like screenshot of All apps?
View 2 RepliesIs as title says. Looking for a way to make the slideshow feature shuffle my photos when I play them, as opposed to playing through them in the order they sit in the folder. Win 7 had this option, and It was easily accessible. I may be being an idiot and missing it in front of my face, but I cant find it.
View 3 RepliesI'm loving Win10 so far! Real improvement on Win7 (and most certainly on Win8, which I hated so much I went back!)
One thing I have noticed, that I can't seem to change... is how you set it so that icons in the start bar, go full sized once you open them? I liked that feature in Win7, as it was quicker to view what was open (without having to "read" the icons to work out what was what)
(I've attached a pic of what I mean)
1. Make TitleBars, StartMenu, TaskBar and so on, keep the same color in example the default black.
2. Make Tiles keep a color in example blue. Like in Windows 8.1.
That is, I want to keep ALL THE DAFAULT COLORS but also make title bar black.
how to make my Origin Tile show as the default colour, as I've not touched anything and it's gone black since I updated Windows 10.
