Sep 15, 2015I have a Cherry Mobile Alpha Morph that works without problems aside from the fact that, when I undock it from the keyboard, it doesn't detect that it should now be in Tablet Mode. I have to manually go to the Action Center and toggle it there. Same with docking it back. I have already checked my settings and I didn't disable Tablet Mode either.
how I can resolve this? I just want to seamlessly dock and undock the tablet and it should switch to tablet or desktop mode respectively.
I don't know if it's relevant but the OS is Windows 10 Home Single Language.

Jul 31, 2015How to turn on the automatic desktop/tablet mode switching?
I run W10, the official release, on a Surface Pro 3 with a keyboard cover. Up to now, when I detach the keyboard I get asked if I want to switch to tablet mode, and when I attach the keyboard desktop mode has been automatically restored. I really like how W10 separates the two modes, instead off like W8/8.1 trying to be in both modes simultaneously.
But suddenly this does not happen. When the keyboard is detached, I do not get any question about enabling tablet mode and the Surface stays in desktop mode. If I manually switch to tablet mode, when I attach the keyboard the machine stays in tablet mode until manually disable it.
I have not changed any settings related to this, not deliberately at least.
I have looked at the tutorial on tablet mode in this forum, but it says nothing about automatic switching. I have checked the available settings but cannot see that there is any setting determining automatic mode switch, other than the "Always/never ask me before switching" (which is set to always).

Nov 29, 2015I have disliked this "feature" since windows 7 and I see they still have not restored the ability to manually sort without having to give every file a "tag". Note: I do not want to use windows live essentials as I hate photo gallery, so this is not an option. I used to be able to arrange my photos by dragging and dropping them next to another similar photo and it would snap to grid where I dropped it. This eliminate duplicate pictures. I found this ink for windows 7:
Windows Explorer Auto Arrange - Disable. However it says very clearly at the beginning not to use it for any other OS versions. Does this works for windows 10 as well or if there is a way to do it in windows 10? I would prefer a 3rd party program as oppose to editing my registry if it can work (all the things that need "fixing" for customization in windows 10 seem to always suggest a reg fix, but I am afraid to edit my registry too much).

Dec 22, 2015I upgraded to Windows 10 about a month ago. Two days ago my computer is all the sudden automatically downloading some. Massive update that took a long time and rebooted my computer without prompting me.
After the download was complete I was able to use my computer seemingly as normal, but upon the next restart, the start menu wouldn't open, and the mouse wouldn't click on any of the icons. I tried a restart and got two pop up error messages saying something like "Windows failed to start properly." I tried a hard reboot a coupe times, same thing.

No luck. Now every time I boot up my computer it goes to the "automatic repair screen."
I have tried every option available from the "automatic repair screen" menu, including System Restore: because I just downloaded Windows 10, I had no restore points. System Image Recovery: it says have no image to recover). Start Up Repai: tells me Windows can't repair the problem. Command Prompt: I've been able to get in there but I don't really know what to do once there (tried what was suggested in the video above, no luck, everything was already set to zero) Startup Settings:WAS working, I was able to start up in Safemode once, still couldn't click anything and start menu still wouldn't work. Now when I click on Startup Settings and click the restart button to get to the Startup options it just brings me back to the "automatic repair screen" ...I think I've rebooted so many times at this point that my computer can't reboot without taking me there.
I've even tried the "reset this PC" option multiple times and every time it starts to reset, gets to 1% or 2% and then I get an error message saying something went wrong and the PC can't be reset.

Sep 21, 2015This is a strange problem that only seems to happen on Windows 10. I have a Dell Venue 8 Pro, which shipped with Windows 8 (it may have been 8.1, can't remember)
Well, the problem with it is that it only has a 32GB on-board flash memory. After the OS and drivers are installed, there's only about 18GB usable for me.
I have around 16GB worth of files on OneDrive... you see the problem here? And that's only going to get bigger as I add more. So what I did before on 8 and am attempting to recreate now on 10 - I have a 64GB MicroSD card inserted, formatted as NTFS (because in Win8, you could only put OneDrive storage on NTFS, not exFAT or anything else). I made a folder called Danny's Data, and then went into C:/Users/Danny and changed "location" of each folder to that folder. Desktop, documents, pictures, music, videos, etc.
It was able to successfully move the locations there, so when I put any files on my desktop, they're *actually* stored on that MicroSD and not taking up precious flash memory space.
But for some reason, OneDrive refuses to move to it. I tried to change the location using the OneDrive software itself, and it gave me a message saying that location could not be used. I tried creating a symlink and it would give an error saying it "cannot find the files" even though they're obviously there.
I even tried opening up the registry editor, searching for C:/Users/Danny/OneDrive and changing it to D:/Danny's Data/OneDrive (it was in there 3 times, or possibly 4, I forget) and rebooting - got that same error that it can't find the files.

Sep 25, 2015A few weeks back on my Surface Pro 3, I was able to view my desktop and have the tablet style on screen keyboard popup in text fields. Now if I'm in desktop mode, windows does not load the tablet style on screen keyboard when touching an input box and the keyboard icon is gone from the systray. If I'm in tablet mode, the keyboard works like it should, but I'm not able to click on a show desktop icon somewhere. Is there a way to be able to see my desktop *and* use the tablet style keyboard that auto-pops up?
Also in chrome, I am unable to click anything except the X button to close it. So far I'm regretting my upgrade to windows 10!

Dec 10, 2015I have a brand new Dell Inspiron 7348 2 in 1 on Windows 10. I just noticed today that it would not auto rotate and that the option for Rotation Lock in Action Center and in the Display Setting is greyed out. My computer had all the latest updates and I just updated the drivers and the problem still persists. The problem did not occur 12/6/15 so I thought that one of the updates since then had been the cause. I uninstalled them one by one to no avail. On a possibly similar note, when I boot up, airplane mode is automatically enabled and Action Center is in Quiet Hours, even though it doesn't show it. I can resolve those both by clicking their respective icons but thought that it might me related to my current problem with rotation lock.

Dec 26, 2015Recently finished upgrade of Win 10 Home Tablet to Version 1511 and Screen rotation no longer works. I have checked Device Manager and everything is indicating OK with exception of Other Devices and that indicates there is an Unknown Device and no driver installed. I do not think this has anything to do with the problem as I understand the Display adapter controls the rotation. I have checked the Display section in Control Panel and no mention of screen being locked or for that matter unlocked.The Tablet manufacturer is Connect and the Display adapter is Intel(R) HD Graphics with Driver dated 17/08/2015 and Version 10.18.10.4276. This is same as my laptop and it works OK.

Apr 14, 2016My local admin account was converted into a Microsoft account , is there a way of reverse it ? Less than one month ago Windows 10 Pro was installed. Let me explain you that there was already a windows 8 installation with kernel corrupted , version 10 recovered all exactly as it was , all programs installed and my configurations.
Previously I had a administrator local account that remained the same after windows 10 installation. It happens that days after I logged in with my Hotmail account to the Microsoft Store to download a couple of items and unbeknownst to me my local admin account was transformed into a Microsoft account.
Now I no longer wish to be logged all the time with this Microsoft account, I even have another admin local account if I want to change but I would have a lot of work to make it look like as it was my original converted account.
In order to avoid such work I ask whether there is a way to convert (let's call this way) the Microsoft account back into my local account or is there a way of copying all the configurations to a new admin local account ?
Rotation Lock Option Is Missing - How To Get It Back

I don't have the option 'screen rotation" in my action center any more... It's not a big deal because I can still use that function by using the shortcut windows + 0 but it's missing and sometimes annoying to go plug the keyboard just to use that function...
I guess I should be able to turn it back on by changing something in the regedit...
Apps :: Windows Store Auto Close After Opening
Oct 1, 2015Recently I had to clone my HDD cause it was dying. After that I had a problem with start menu, notifications, search bar not working anymore, but I've managed to repair that. (here's the topic : Start menu, search, notifications not working; Dism not working (error 0x800f081f); etc ...)
Only problem left is Windows Store not working anymore (it autoclose itself as soon I launch it). Mail & Calendar apps show as @{microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps.blablabla}
When I use WSReset.exe, I have an error message saying "ms-windows-store:PurgeCaches, app cannot be opened" or something like that.
I have tried to register Windows Apps again with Powershell command. sfc /scannow dont find any problems. Dism /restorehealth don't change anything.
When I create a new account, It doesnt work either, it is just a bit different as it show me a pop up saying that it was not able to open windows store and that i should ask my admin.
I've tried to upgrade 10 to 10, but the install stucked @ 71% ...
I CAN'T refresh the computer, as I have applications projects with too much dependencies and it will be too much to reinstall everything. Everything else is working OK, and windows store is less important than the rest, but if I can repair it, it's great.
Oh, and I forgot to say that when I disconnect from my account, I have a LoginUI.exe error maybe it's related to that, i don't know, so I tell u about it too.
Apps :: Windows Can't Auto Close Skype On Shutdown
Nov 30, 2015When i shutdown windows Skype will not automatically close, giving me the error in the picture below. I have to manually right click on the Skype icon in the system tray and quit it, then shutdown windows again. It's a hassle.
I've reinstalled Skype. I'm running latest version of windows 1511 and all upto date. I'm using the Skype desktop app, on a desktop pc, in desktop mode.
Networking :: Windows Will Not Auto Reconnect To Known WiFi On Boot
Feb 10, 2016Im pretty tech savy, but this one is boggling my mind.
Wifi dongle I'm using is this a DLink DWA-140
Router is using WPA2-PSK
Background info: I connect to the internet through my ISP's supplied router, i've set it up with my own SSID and my own password, it works perfectly fine with my android phone, my GF's iPhone, my tablet, my laptop, her laptop, her iPad.. but not with my PC running windows 10.The problem: When i boot, it doesn't always automatically reconnect to my wifi, despite having it checked as "connect automatically". My wifi dongle can see every other wifi network within 20 miles, EXCEPT my own wifi. Go figure?!
In order to get it to connect i have to hit "Connect to Hidden network", type in SSID, type in the password, which windows will prompt me is incorrect, hit cancel, wait a second, and BAM it connects to my wifi.
Things I've tried:
Open search, type "services.msc" open services.Scroll down to "wlan auto config" right click, stop the service.Navigate to "C:ProgramDataMicrosoftWlansvc delete everything in this folder leaving only a folder called "profiles" delete everything in the "profiles" folder except for a folder called "interfaces" delete everything in the "interfaces" folder)Restart "wlan auto config" connect to your wireless network, enter your passkey, (ensure the connect automaticly box is checked)Restart your computer job done, your computer will now connect to your wireless network automaticly on boot.>failed.
Hiding my SSID, and un-hiding it in router config, that worked for a couple of weeks, but now the problem is back. Have tried this solution again..failed.
Uninstalled the wifi dongle in device manager..failed.
Running the router as configured by my ISP.failed.
