View 9 RepliesI would assume people may want to tinker with their logon screen background picture. (an example of this screen, to clarify, is below)
This is the picture that is behind the logon screen, which is by default the Windows 10 hero wallpaper. If you would like to change this image to your accent color, here's how
WARNING: To do this option, you will have to mess with registry settings. As you may know, registry settings influence the way Windows works on your machine. Therefore, if you do something incorrectly, you may have to reinstall Windows. Proceed with caution.
The first step is to open Run (+R) and type regedit
Once Registry Editor opens, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwarePoliciesMicrosoftWindowsSystem. There, make a new DWORD value called DisableLogonBackgroundImage and set the value to 1 to change it to your accent color. If you ever wish to revert this change, setting it to 0 will revert it back to the 'Hero' image.
Restart and your logon screen background will now be your accent color that you have selected. If it changes, the color of your logon screen will change as well.
Upon upgrading to Windows 10, I've noticed that my lock screen image did not move across with the upgrade. Also, when I try to change the lock screen image through settings, it never shows up. It only shows the color that is set for the settings.
View 2 RepliesWhen I go to Settings -> Personalisation -> Background and try to change my wallpaper to one of my own pictures nothing happens. When I choose one of the Windows pictures (that one of the guy running along the beach with those big rocks in the background for example) again, nothing happens. The only thing I can do is change it to another solid colour.
Bizarrely, on my wife's account (we're both Administrators) she can change the wallpaper to whatever she wants.
I was using Windows 7, and using too much wallpaper at background. In windows 7 i can set the change picture time to minimum 10 seconds. But in Windows 10 this time is minimum 1 min. This so long time for me because i want to see all my wallpapers a short time. Another problem is there is no Shuffle options. How to shuffle the wallpapers.
So there is any way too change this setting. Maybe in regedit?
I'm getting frustrated with this. No matter what I do I can't get to change the desktop wallpaper/background on windows 10. When I open a pic in ACDsee and set it as a wallpaper it doesn't change a thing. All I have is a solid color.
View 9 RepliesI was just wondering if there was a way to customize the background of the screen where you are prompted to enter the background
View 1 RepliesI know how to change the wallpaper, but how do I change the wallpaper when typing the password. It is set on the default windows 10 blue wallpaperÂ
View 1 RepliesIf you want to change the wallpaper on the new login screen of Windows 10, you can watch my tutorial. The download you need is in the video description. This works with builds 10162 and above.
View 4 RepliesI was curious if there happened to be a location where the image that shows up on the screen where you enter your password is. Not talking about the lock screen. In Windows 7 it's located under "C:WindowsSystem32oobe", but that's not the case in Windows 10. Is there a place where this image exists? If not, it might be in one of the various MUI files...
View 5 RepliesIt seems like my Lock Screen wallpaper is stuck on "Windows Spotlight". When I try to change to "Picture" or "Slideshow" in settings nothing happens, and when i choose "Slideshow" and then "Windows Spotlight" the preview turns grey with the loading indicator and nothing more happens.
Would really like to be able to choose my own lock screen wallpaper, though Spotlight is a pretty cool feature.
The new build of windows 10 now comes with the Hero wallpaper shown behind the logon screen. What I would like is for this to be removed/disabled to return it to the traditional blue screen only.
View 9 RepliesI love the dynamic sign-in backgrounds, and i would love for Windows to change my desktop background to the same images.
View 4 RepliesSo we setup a MS account for my daughter, using her email address, but accidentally put in my birthdate so it got created as an adult account. This means I can't add the account to my "Family" so I can setup parental controls. According to Microsoft, there is no way to change an adult account into a child account. The only thing I can do is delete the account and then wait 60 days before recreating it. This means that in the mean time she doesn't have a MS account to use to log on so I'm kind of screwed.
The only thing I came up with is to create a dummy MS account for her to use for 60 days until I can recreate it using her email account like it is now. Is that even possible? I would need to associate her current local account with the dummy account and then be able to change it to reassociate it with the new account once I recreate it after 60 days.
How do I change my logon options so that I do not have to use either a password or PIN#?
View 1 RepliesThe slideshow app successfully changes the background on schedule, but I can't change the folder. No matter which folder of jpg pictures I select, it always returns "Not items match your search. If I change mode to a static picture for the background, the app DOES find several available jpg pictures in whatever folder I point toward. The slideshow part of the code is apparently looking for something other than jpg pictures. Is there a way to see/modify the code that runs the app?
View 1 RepliesAt day 1 of the windows 10 release my Secure Logon background was a specified picture, the same picture as my desktop background. Since Windows automatically updated it has been changed to a picture.
How do I get the picture back?
To be clear, I want this specifically for the Secure logon screen (where it shows "Press Ctrl-Alt-Delete" to unlock), not the standard logon screen.
I can't seem to find any options where I can replace this ugly blue logo wallpaper.
View 9 RepliesI'v try to change a LogIn screen whit an managed picture of our company in sted of Enable or Disable LogIn screen. Is there way to change tath "img0.jpg" tath apear onder the accountpicture on login trougth regedit or gpedit or GP on AD, and not using tird party modifying tools like "W10 Logon BG Changer" or else. View 1 RepliesI've had this since i got windows 10 and basically i cant change my lockcreen, i cant change what type of lock screen i have eg (spotlight, slideshow, picture) its just stuck on spotlight.
View 1 RepliesWhy did my lock screen change while I was at work all day????
View 4 RepliesWhere is this wallpaper stored? also, where can I find the different resolutions of it?
View 1 RepliesI have a third party wallpaper changer that I like, but when I updated to Win 10 every change comes out as centered, with a boarder. No matter how many times I change it to "fill" next changes to "centered". I have plated with the settings in the program but nothing works. The program is Wallpaper Master. if there is a way to set the fit in windows to default to fit instead of center.
View 2 RepliesIs this strange. When I change my desktop wallpaper on one PC it changes to the same picture on my second PC. and I haven't even downloaded the wallpaper on the second machine.
what is going on?
Today I have suddenly lost my desktop wallpaper screen just all black accept for my few icons down the left hand side of the screen and the taskbar along the bottom. Have checked in my settings, personalization page and their all there but it will not accept any change to the screen and display it. As I am still learning to use the new windows 10, I accept that it could be my own fault while I am exploring the new systems I tried going back over all the things I have experimented with.
View 3 RepliesHow to change the login screen image? I'm not talking about the lock screen, which is the first screen to show up when you start your computer, I'm talking about the one where you actually enter your password.
