Is it possible to change the color of text on the Taskbar buttons? It is unreadable as black text on a very dark background.
I now have all the other UI colors in Windows 10 looking how I want with a customized theme.
Is there any way to change the color of the Minimize, Maximize and Close buttons in Windows 10? The reason I ask is that if I set my Window border color to black (through the hidden Color and Appearance window) or any dark color for that matter, I can't see the buttons at all!

Edit: I also just noticed something else. The window name is also black so you can't see that either with the black border.
A guy in my office just upgraded to windows 10 and it looks completely different from other installations I've seen. The start button isn't the 4 equally-sized rectangles, the top left one is hollow and bigger than the other 3, if that means anything. Anyway, when "use small taskbar buttons" is unchecked in taskbar properties, the first few taskbar buttons are hidden behind the search box on the taskbar.
I found this out by accident because I opened one more window and it barely peeked out from the right side of the search box. What can be doing this? BTW this is not the icons in the notification area, these are the program buttons pinned to the taskbar. Also, his start menu doesn't have tiles, it looks almost exactly like the Windows 7 start menu. To me, it's starting to feel like a skin/theme for windows 7, rather than an actual upgrade, and he got taken in by someone, somehow.
Basically what the title says. I need to be able to:
1. Change the audio playback device to a specific device.
2. Change the active window.
Both need to be able to be done in cmd. How would I be able to do that?
I just upgrade to Windows 10. It worked fine at the beginning. During adjusting the settings, over sudden I found all the windows starts in full size and can not be changed, except being minimized to the task-bar.
View 1 RepliesWhen I change the input language, it is changed for the whole system, i.e. all apps, Office, browsers, etc. In Windows 7 it used to change only for the specific app which is active on the display, i.e. the language for the rest remained the same. Is there a way for Windows 10 to behave like Windows 7 in this respect?
View 2 RepliesI want to change the title bar color from white, as I have a white desktop.
In win 7 personalization there was an option to change every part of a window individually.
This seems to have gone and the only choice left is for the high contrast options which are awful.
I've spent hours installing and customizing Win 10, but can't find out how to set windows so they always open to the format and specifications I'd like.
For instance, in Win 7, I was able to change the Scroll Bar, Title Bar, Borders, Menu Fonts, Window Fonts, etc.
I'll try to attach/embed a JPG showing how a typical window looks in Win 7 on my laptop. I'm apparently not bright enough to figure out how to do this in Win 10 on my desktop.
My brother set up installed the new windows 10 on the pc and for some reason the pc username is now his name, is registered on his email and also uses his password. I cant seem to change this because everytime i press on "Change Account Settings" a window pops up and then closes right after. no message is shown and no error is visible, what can i do to fix this?
View 1 RepliesJust got Win 10 and if I have many windows open there is no distinction between which are active and which aren't. Before the active window would have a colored toolbar at the top while the inactive windows would be colorless or white. I've went into settings, personalization and color...turned the first one off and the other two on then selected yellow but still the active windows aren't getting the yellow across the top to show they are active.

Also I would like to remove the shadow it has.
Much as I like the new windows 10, I find if I have a few windows open and overlapped then it's far to easy to close the wrong window. And the reason is that the whole washed out white and no window borders mean one window looks like it's another window when overlapped.
What would be great is if I could get a blue (or whatever) border back on the window so that it'a much easier to see which window is which. Is it possible without any third party stuff?
I'm having some problems after my Windows upgrade from 7 to 10...
Basically, I'm working on a multiple monitor system. When I move my mouse around the screen, windows changes the focus from the window that I'm working in (a spreadsheet for example), and starts entering data in any window i mouse-over.
I found a partial solution in the following thread.....but this only disables the window popping-up (the focus still changes).

When I am accessing taskbar and startup and open my computer top and sides its showing as black .

Whenever I open a folder and position it on desktop whereI want it to be, after closing and reopening it again, it repositions. With a few opening-closings I realized that every time I open the folder anew, it gets repositioned a bit lower, diagonally. This wasn't happening on Windows 8.1. Is there any way to keep the folder in the same position every time I open it?
View 9 RepliesI'm using the Aerolite theme. I would like to have a distinct difference in colour between active and inactive windows (i.e. the window border and the window bar). In Windows 7 I was able to set the active window colour to blue and the inactive windows' colour to grey (similar to Windows Classic). Is there a way to do that in Windows 10? Simply having a darker and a lighter shade of the same colour won't be good enough -- I'd like to have two distinct colours.
View 8 RepliesI downloaded and tried out some different pictures for my desktop background. After deciding on one of them I deleted the others from my pictures folder but the deleted pictures are still showing in the personalisation window and can even still be set as background. Why that's happening or how to stop it?
View 1 RepliesIs it possible to move the info pane to the bottom of Explorer windows, similar to Windows 7? Seems easier to read for music files especially, rather than having long word wrapping for artist/album titles and so on.
View 1 Replieswhile playing video (using any software media player, movies & tv, internet explorer youtube, google chrome youtube, vlan), all other inactive windows (any other windows) turn blank and white. I have updated video drivers, did not make a difference. I have then uninstalled all video card driver and used only default windows drivers, played video with same result. Therefore, I am sure it is windows. Tonight while trying to watch the bowl games, I typically watch video and browse/study using IE/Chrome. This is pretty typical for me, but the browser windows turning black and white is getting really annoying.
View 5 RepliesLast, previously closed window outline remains displayed. Sometimes can 'force' it to go away by left clicking on an unused portion of desktop but not always.
Just got laptop for Christmas and has always had this problem so might be a setting.
Have looked at Advanced -> Visual Settings but didn't see any that looked like would fix (tried setting Best Performance - which turned everything off but didn't fix)
I have my desktop picture set to change every hour or so but despite trying various settings it only seems to change every month or two!
I have two monitors driven by a Nvidia Quadro 600. Neither display is changing.
Also, when I first setup the two monitors, the screens aver would alternate the images on the two monitors. i.e. Pjicture A on right then B on left with A still on right, then C on left with B still on right, and so on. Now A appears on right with left blank, then B on left with right blank. Not sure why it changed.
Not a vitally required fix but it would be nice if it behaved as it should!
I just upgrade windows 10 from windows 7 and I'm customizing some default folder to match my settings in my windows 7. I got a little problem and it's really annoying me. Here is the screenshot of my This PC
as you can see, I change the windows default folder for downloads to drive F:. How can I make it to show the drive name instead of drive letter? I used the same steps I do in windows 7 and it was working, but in windows 10, it change the download folder to drive letter.
So I want to make a new font to use on my computer instead of Arial but I can't figure out how to change the default font.
View 1 RepliesUnderstand that default Title Bar in Windows 10 is white, However when I click on themes (which shows various title bar/window borders colors (or Shades) my Title Bar stays completely white.
View 1 RepliesIs there a way to put a shortcut on the taskbar that would perform a shutdown when clicked? And another one that would perform a restart?
