Everybody wants disable - but what to do when I want to ENABLE ?
From the very first time after fresh update from Windows 8 to 10 - there was a problem to have Lock Screen.
I like the simple information on it and quick display off after a while not used...
Then, after any option possible used to enable it, it somehow appeared after windows update. I was lucky to have it back. Self customized to black background without any disturbing images and icons - only pure time and date.
And, then, after last whole build update from 10240 to 10586 - again NO MORE LOCK SCREEN .....
Tested again any possible option (system option, gpedit option, registry change) - nothing works like after first upgrade from 8 to 10...
If I try to set the notebook (Lenovo Yoga 15) to Lock, it appears blank black (my custom solid color) background for around 2 seconds, and then it goes directly to login dialog (personal image with login button).
On my Surface 3 I've been getting really stunning lock screen photos as part of Windows Spotlight. Much nicer than anything from the Bing photos. I wanted to add that to my desktop but I don't seem to get that choice there in lockscreen settings. Is there a trick to enabling this or it is a Surface 3 feature?
I've had this since i got windows 10 and basically i cant change my lockcreen, i cant change what type of lock screen i have eg (spotlight, slideshow, picture) its just stuck on spotlight.
got the slideshow to work on your lock screen yet, i have tried everything including deleteing a particular file in screen folder to making new files everywhere and still nothing, when i press WIN + L it works great but the minute i reboot my PC nothing the same picture i had stays there
When I start up my laptop, this new Windows 10 has the lock screen. It has that picture of the sea and rocks etc. All I need to do is click it and it disappears .. but I don't want the nuisance lock screen. I don't have a touch screen, I still use my mouse and pad. This lock screen is just another click I have to do to get started. How to disable the lock screen.
My Windows 10 Lock screen is not working anymore. Every time i change the lock screen, it is loading but lock screen is not changing. My current lock screen is like this ....
I have changed several pictures several times on the Lock Screen, and now every once in awhile a picture pops up on it which I don't want. Is there any way to delete the few pictures on there so thee is only one?
Upon upgrading to Windows 10, I've noticed that my lock screen image did not move across with the upgrade. Also, when I try to change the lock screen image through settings, it never shows up. It only shows the color that is set for the settings.
So when I go to the lock screen in Windows 10 I can select a picture and the preview shows it fine. However when I actually lock my PC it still shows the default Windows 10 one. (Not a solid colour)
PC upgraded from Windows 7 recently. All updates applied.
I have tried so many things, deleted systemdata folder in programdata, tried running registry repairs, sfc scannow etc.
Why it will let me change the lock screen picture with no problems, change the preview but the actual lock screen image itself doesn't change?
I don't know if I changed a setting or what but I can't get Windows to show me the Lock Screen. I have it like this. I put it in Slideshow with a custom folder where I keep all my wallpapers. is a slideshow lockscreen settings in one side, a normal savescreen setting in another. If I had to set my screen to turn off after a certain time or not. I just want the frickin lockscreen to start whenever, let's say, 30 min have passed. Only thing I get it's my screen turned off.
I was hoping I could change the image on the lock screen, but it still appears not to work - when I select a new image I just get a spinning cursor in the preview screen. Need customizing the Lock Screen image,?
Is there a way to prevent the screen from turning off when the computer is locked? She likes her lock screen images but the screen turns off after 30 seconds or so when locked. (I tried telling her to use desktop wallpaper, but she likes the lock screen better.)
I really like the current lock screen wallpaper (the one you see before you click and the password screen shows up) and I want to set it as my desktop wallpaper, but I can't find it! Where is it located?
I installed Windows 10 yesterday and used a lot of registry hacks already.
I'm having a little problem with the new lock screen. I use Windows in English but I choose Spanish (Argentina) in region and format in control panel.
What I can't figure out is how to get the day of the week and month with the first letter uppercase, here's a couple screens to show what happens when I choose English vs. Spanish
When I first setup the slideshow it worked fine. Then, out of the blue, it stopped working (due to an update I thought). But since then it comes and goes. It can work for a few hours but soon goes back to sleep mode instead of the lock screen slideshow!
I've triple checked the settings, uninstalled and reinstalled the slideshow, changed the image folder etc.
I've even changed and re-changed the NoLockScreen setting in the registry.
I got a new laptop and installed the Facebook app from the Windows Store and it asked me if i wanted to sync my Facebook profile picture and cover photo as the user photo and lock screen picture. I didn't mean to click yes as my cover photo at the time was a stupid one. I've tried uninstalling the Facebook app to make the lock screen picture go away and used the control panel to manually change back to Windows Spotlight. But it still does not change. Whenever i restart my laptop the stupid picture of Ainsley Harriot comes up before the logon screen, but when i lock my laptop it shows the Spotlight. It's weird. I'm new to Windows 10 so i'm unsure what the issue is here.
Just installed Windows 10 on my primary laptop and the lock screen is a solid blue (if I change my theme color, the lock screen changes too). However, I have Windows Spotlight turned on. I've tried setting a static picture or slideshow as the background. I also confirmed that the files needed for Windows Spotlight are indeed downloaded onto my computer. It just refuses to change. It's worth noting that on my secondary computer with Windows Insider builds, I have, and have been having, the same problem.
