I decided to use windows 10 OS in my organization, but the problem is Windows Start Menu. Is it possible to modify default start menu for all computer local and domain users? I dont want to see news, finances, Xbox etc tiles in start menu each time when new user will login to PC. I want to create the same start menu myself for every user.

To change the default Color of the Start Menu & Taskbar go to Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Personalization > Color And Appearance then select Show Color Mixer. These 3 sliders will modify the solid color chosen above that also modifies the color of the Start Menu & Taskbar.
The Color Intensity slider only modifies the color of the window borders.

Color Intensity & Color Mixer functions (Sliders) have been depreciated and no longer have any effect of altering a chosen color for builds newer than 10130.
In previous versions of Windows, a quick registry hack has let me create my main user (after the one in C:Users created when installing Windows) in E:Users rather than C:Users.
This is the method I've used before:
Use Regedit to navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionProfileList
and alter ProfilesDirectory, in my case to E:Users.
Does this works in W10, or will I be a path-finder?
Just a question about the default start menu/tiles. Originally I didn't like the look of the tiles so I removed them however now I'm thinking I may actually like them. So is there a way I can get the default start menu/tiles back?

View 1 RepliesI have Pinned a few sites to the start menu using Microsoft Edge. My problem is that all of them have the same "E" edge (internet explorer) icon. So unless I keep them at large size, or remember in what order they were pinned/arranged, I have no clue which pin is for which site.

However, on computers with only screen (my laptop), I would like my start menu along the bottom.
Is there any way to set up an IF statement that places the start menu in a location based on the number of screens or, worst case, stop that property from updating across computers?

View 5 RepliesSince upgrading to Windows 10 my computer has developed a little glitch where every time I turn it on it switches the function keys to default, instead of the special action keys. I've tried switching it in settings but it does nothing. I've tried switching it in the Bios menu. Also nothing. I hate having to press the [Fn] key every time I want to pause a song or change the volume or the screen brightness, but the system seems determined to force me to do so?

View 5 RepliesI need to store files at a location other than my SSD boot drive. I right click on a folder icon e.g., "downloads" and go to properties/location and change the drive letter. I go to the icon, right click and the location has been changed.
However, downloads continue to go to C:users/myname/downloads.
How do I change where files are sent by default?
Its possible to customize one or more folders to a specific file view like "list" or "details" for example? Whenever I close the folder or go back to the previous folder the default system sets back default view which was adopted by the system or the view that was defined by me for all the folders in: Folder Options -> View -> Apply to Folders.

View 9 RepliesMy Start menu looks like this right now: I unpinned everything I don't want but now all my programs are showing. I don't remember it being like this originally so I think it must be something I've done when trying different things out.
What I want is to get it down to just the 3 apps at the top and not see any programs unless I click on All Apps.Is there any way to restore the Start menu to installation default so I can start over again, what registry bit I fiddled to cause this?
I am using windows 10 and I am trying to change the default fonts of the OS(I think is Segoe UI). I know that has been changed since windows 8, but I was able to change them so far by modifying the keys in "HKEY_CURRENT_USERControl PanelDesktopWindowMetrics" in registry(Segoe UI look terrible on my screen and I prefer Tahoma).
Since the last version of windows 10(10586) something changed regarding the fonts. Now the fonts of the right-click context menu in desktop and file explorer are somehow connected with the the fonts of the new black right-click context menu in taskbar and start menu button and the fonts of the control panel and I think the ribbon in file explorer. I came to that conclusion because when i deleted all the keys regarding Segoe UI in "HKEY_LOCAL_ MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionFonts", all the fonts of the above "fallback" to Arial and when I deleted only Segoe UI regular they fallback to Segoe UI italic.
As a result modifying menufont key in WindowsMetrics doesn't change the fonts in context menus of desktop and of file explorer. Menufont key still has an effect in menus of third party software like my player(MPC-HC) or in some right-click menus of windows like in the volume and network icons in taskbar. The other keys in WindowsMetrics folder(iconfont, statusfont e.t.c.) still working.
Now my question is obvious, is it possible to change the fonts in the other menus? Is there a separate key in registry regarding those fonts or are they hard-coded in some dll? Why oh why they keep changing these things?
Where is the option to change the fonts for your icon, menu's etc... don't want to change size or colour just type.

I have read about the "Pin to Start List" if you rightclick while holding shift. But this seems not to be working anymore!?!?! Is there another possibility to customize this list or to re-add the function? I don't want to use "recently added apps" or something like that ...

View 1 RepliesEver since I had first installed Win10 my start menu has looked like this, I thought nothing of it but my dad's start menu has tiles and things on it and I like it a lot more. But how to change it to that. Sometimes when I start windows the start menu will have the tiles look, but then it will change back to this one.
I know there is something wrong because when the tiled start menu shows, my windows account photo is visible, and then when it changes back it has the little gray one that is in the screenshot, and I can't change it. Turns out it was Iobit bloatware called "Start Menu 8". If you have this problem also, just uninstall from control panel.
I was wondering how you change the language in the start up? Like when the computer is shutting down/turning on, when you wake it up from sleep and enter a PIN, etc.
When I was picking the language in the initial start up, I accidentally chose French because the touchpad was really grippy. I've changed the language back to English for when I'm actually using the computer, but the start up and lock screens are still in French.
I tried to change the startup sound using Brink's (Startup Sound - Change in Windows 7 - Windows 7 Forums) second method, as well as lots of other methods, assuming there wouldn't be much difference between Windows 7 and Windows 10. And I was wrong, as it didn't work, now the startup sound is replaced with a bunch of hexcode. Any successful method of changing the startup sound (NOT the logon sound)?
View 1 RepliesI've searched the Win10 forum, but haven't found whether it is possible to change the amount of apps that appear in the MOST USED apps in Start.
For instance, currently, my MOST USED apps show 6 apps. I would like to change it to 10.
I have the RECENTLY ADDED apps option turned off, so there should be plenty of room to show 10 MOST USED apps.
I believe previous versions of Windows allowed this choice.
