View 7 RepliesToday I got an update, and I noticed afterwards that the Windows 10 context menu when you right click the desktop went back to the old version and not the Windows 10 version. Also, the context menu for right clicking in the taskbar turned black in the background. Not sure what changed and how to make things the way I remember.
View 4 RepliesI wonder if there is a way (through editing system files or registry) to change Windows 10 Start Menu "All apps" to something else like "My Programs". Also where is the icon file located in the system and how to change the default icon.

View 1 RepliesIn Windows 10 build 10586 ContextMenu (right-click on start menu items) is changed and is divided to 2 parts as seen below (Menu >). Is a way to get back the build 10240 behavior and show a single menu?
View 4 RepliesI finished upgrading my laptop to Window 10 Pro and I got Microsoft Money Sunset and Frontpage 2003 working. So I am happy.
An old problem came back, after a shutdown, the system "resumes" instead of starting without the option of allowing me to get into the bios. I had a fix for that for Windows 8.1 but when I tried that for Windows 10, let just say I was glad I had created a restore point.
So if your are listening Brink will you be updating your registry fix for Windows 10?
Is it possible to create a new entry in the context menu in "new"? I often need an empty paint-pic.
For example .....
Code:
;notepad[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT*shell]@=""notepad.exe %1""[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT*shellopen]
@="Open &With Notepad"[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT*shellopencommand]@="notepad.exe %1"
The above don't seem to give me open with notepad in context menu unlike in win7.
i noticed like 2 updates ago that the new context menu size increased so much. now i have to scroll to see the bottom just to see proprieties and rename. its annoying id like the old context menu, is there a way to get the old menu back?
View 6 RepliesI spent yesterday fiddling with my context menu (Right-Click Menu). I downloaded and installed nearly a dozen different apps/programs. I settled on a couple and went to work adding commands. Here's the problem: Once the items show up in the Context/Right Click menu, there's no way to arrange them. Alphabetically, for example. They appear alphabetical in the software interface and in the registry, but not in the menu itself.
View 9 RepliesLooking to remove the "pin to start" context menu from Windows 10, I use startmenu replacement and that option is very much in the way. There was a way for win 8.1.Files in Windows 8..But reg files changed, so how to get Win 10 version of it?
View 1 RepliesI have created Eject "N", etc for each drive letter from G-Z and they all work. They will safely remove my external HDDs. I have also created a context menu entry for Safely Remove > and it has a string value for subcommands, none of which will show when hovered upon. I need to move all of my Eject entries under the Safely Remove in order to keep my context menu clutter free.how to do this?
View 3 RepliesIs there a wizard around that can give me a .reg file to remove ''Customize this Folder'' from the context menu?

Perhaps it goes without saying that I use Windows 10, I would love to add the "Search Everywhere" command to the desktop context menu. Is it possible?
View 9 RepliesSince I started using Windows 8, I used a custom all in one context menu with separator lines between the subcommands menu items, but with Windows 10 the separator lines doesn't show at all.
View 3 RepliesWhy when I remove "Send To" & "Pin To Start" context menu entries from registry, windows automatically creates new one's after restart. Never had such problem in 8...
View 9 RepliesHow do I add the keyboard shortcut command "ctrl+F" to the Internet Explorer context menu? I know where I need to go in the registry to add an item to the context menu of Internet Explorer, but I don't know how to add a keyboard shortcut.
View 4 RepliesIt used to be in Personalization under themes. It permitted you to open the current theme and edit (add or remove pictures) from the theme. The function seems to have been left out in Windows 10, and was available in previous Windows versions.
View 3 RepliesAfter I fixed that annoying ass BSoD error I have been getting by doing a reset of the system NOW I am getting the error
"Some settings are managed by your organization" under the Personalization/Start tab.
I can't edit ANY of them despite doing so just after updating and it's really starting to annoy me.
This is the problem : [URL] ....
I can edit and view the tags (? these are called tags right ?) like 'Comments', 'Title', 'Authors' etc for .JPG and .JPEG files but cannot do the same for .PNG files. How do I it ?If it is not possible, then is there any way to convert 100s of png files to some other format ?
View 6 RepliesI was looking to see if there is a way to add the W7 File, Edit, Tools, Help, etc. Menus to W10 Folders. I searched but found nothing at all. Maybe I am not searching correctly or calling it the correct thing.
If not, is there any way to add commands to the Quick Access Toolbar in Folders? I see you can add some limited stuff like Redo, Rename, etc. But I would like to add some basic commands like copy and paste, etc.
Since upgrade we cannot copy paste ANYTHING! It's giving us a copyright disabled function in google docs. My son has to copy and paste articles for class and now we can't.
View 4 RepliesWhen I right click on something to get the context menu, it sometimes works and sometimes does not.
Here are three images showing how it appears. As you can see, there is a completely variable response as to what appears. I am using the standard Windows 10 theme in a completely fresh install (not an upgrade) on a new hard disk.
I just upgraded my laptop from windows 7 to windows 10 and everything went very smoothly on the outside but I'm finding some hiccups as I go along. When I right click the start menus I do get the context menu with all the shortcuts to various apps. But when I click on, say for instance, Control Panel, instead of going to "Control Panel" I get a dialog box opening saying "Express Zip Free Version" This free version of Express Zip is licensed for non-commercial use only; Please confirm that:" then there are two options to click on and I'll only include the first one for sake of brevity, "Certify that this program is for non-commercial use only". Why in the name of all that is good does this dialog open and not a program from the context menu?
View 1 RepliesI have 2 different Windows 10 machines...
1. A clean install of Windows 10.
2. An upgrade from Windows 7.
The right-click context menus are very different on each. I have imported the same themes and tried to match as many of the tweaks on the 2 machines.
For starters I have disabled Segoe UI completely, and replaced it with Arial. Also, Font Smoothing and Cleartype are completely disabled.
For the clean 10 machine, I get clean white context menus, both on the desktop and taskbar... no blurring.
For the 10 machine upgraded from 7, I get a gray blurry context menu, and a dark gray one on the taskbar.
