Customization :: Install Game From Microsoft Store As Tile
Sep 21, 2015
How can i install games from Microsoft store without been installed to All Programs Start window and instead to be installed as big tile in the start screen in windows 10?
Weird issue.... the Store tile and all modern apps originally looked nice with monochrome icons on my taskbar, but after restarting now they are showing as ugly tiles on my taskbar (i.e like it did in 8.1). Is there some sort of setting for this to put it back to the transparent icon on my taskbar?
Every time I open a game that I run in borderless windowed or windowed mode, I get this stupid "Game Bar" garbage.
I did a little research, and it seems you can stop it from auto-opening in windowed games by opening the Xbox "app" and disabling it from there. However, whenever I open the Xbox "app", I'm asked to log in with a Microsoft Account. I do not want to do this because I don't have a MS Account, nor do I want one. And it seems that even if you log in with a Microsoft Account, you're forced to create an Xbox Gamertag before you can access the settings.
How do I stop this garbage "Game Bar" without a Xbox/Microsoft Account?
I have a 240GB SSD so I like to be careful about space allocated to my games. With Steam games it is easy to just copy the game folder to an external HD when I'm not playing it then moved it back when I fancy playing it.
However, I purchased Rise of the Tomb Raider from the Windows Store and that option doesn't seem doable - the game installed itself into a folder inside C:/Program Files/WindowsApps which isn't viewable unless I taken ownership (I already messed up all my metro apps doing this but fortunately I had a recent disk image to recover from it).
Any way to either change the location of the game installation or an easy way to backup and restore the game files?
I'm planning to download gears of war on my windows 10 and with my current network connection, it will take a lot of time to download it. so I wanted to know if the store downloads are resumable after shutting the PC down.
I really like how Microsoft combined the old start menu with the new Metro style tiles. There is only one problem though: How do I even change the color for a single individual tile? I know I can change the color of every tile, but how about only one?
My windows 10 boots up and immediatelt drops me into the tile page and as yet I have figured no way to conveniently move back to my regular desktop, taskbar, etc?
I have basically given up hope that Microsoft will return the Windows 7 (and before) Start Menu back where it belongs. So I want to play their game and try to modify the tile side. I see that programs that I pin to the Start menu go to the very bottom of the tiles. I added a title called Start List Programs and moved all of the pinned programs under that title.
I am wondering if I could move that title and the list of programs above the Life at a Glance section. I know that every time I pin something to the Start menu I would have to move it to the top but it would be better than having to pull the bar down to the bottom every time I wanted to access something from the Start menu. If that fails, I will see if Classic Shell has a Windows 10 option and go from there.
I just upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7 and I decided to add an app. I clicked on the store app and then picked the app I wanted and then clicked on Free. A menu came up that said choose account so I clicked on Microsoft Account and a screen popped up for about one second and then was gone.
I then went up to the upper right hand of the screen and clicked on the icon to the left of the search window and clicked on Sign In, then I clicked on Microsoft Account and the same thing happened again, a screen popped up and then in a second it was gone. What is causing this?
Below is the screen I see for a few seconds before it goes away. Also, when I go into Setting/Account and click on "Sign in with a Microsoft account instead" the same thing happens.
I still have the icon for MS Store in my taskbar, but it no longer works. Clicking on it does nothing. When I click the START button, the MS Store App is grayed out.
After upgrading Win 8.1 to Windows 10 with the assurance that it would be a seamless upgrade with no loss of apps, I now find that attempts to open the subject apps only produce a momentary Splash screen. I am of the opinion that these apps have been removed from the Win10 upgrade.
I downloaded Win10 Wednesday of last week. Ive had 3 issues. One major two minor (and related).
First, each time I try to wake my computer up from sleep, it crashes, i get the sad face and it tells me it needs to restart.
Second, Edge and the Store wont connect to the internet. It seems to be something with my Microsoft account. IE, Cortana, Steam etc. else connect fine.
I need finding the folder for the games I downloaded from the Microsoft Store in Windows 10. It gets annoying finding games through the search tool and having them pinned to my taskbar would also be inconvenient. I would rather they were in a folder.
I plan on buying a new computer and want to transfer my Windows 10 App Game Statistics for Hearts and Chess to my new computer. Where does Windows 10 store these game statistics so I can save the folder.
i decided to do a fresh install of Windows 10. I've faced two BSOD already, usually i was getting these due to graphic card issues previously however i haven't even installed any drivers yet.I've attached the SFTool files and the text file from BlueScreenView.
