View 1 RepliesIn the last day or two, I noticed that the font size and style on the vast majority of websites that I visit has been changed, and it's not a good change! It looks like Times New Roman now, and though I don't know what the font style was before, I know it wasn't this.
Also, what a typical web font size is, but it seems that the size now is probably somewhere in the 8-10 point range. Nothing has changed in my settings that I'm aware of - at least I'm not the one that made any change. I currently have zoom to 250% which is what is recommended for this Dell XPS 13. That's what it's always been set at, and everything looked fine before. Almost everything from Google, to Facebook - you name it - is displaying this new font style and size.
i need to get to the same functionality as i did in Windows 7:
Personalization>Windows color and appearance>Advanced appearance settings, where I can set the font style along with bold and italic. i have searched extensively without success.
since upgrading to win 10, font size doesn't display correctly in outlook 2007. ribbon says 11, but is like 5. zooming doesn't fix.
View 4 Replieshow to increase the font size and/or font type in the start menu? All the regular "personalize" options are basically for desktop and text and borders and the like, but nothing for the menu itself. Turning the magnifier on is NOT practical.

View 2 RepliesI tried the below but the area is grayed out. What can I do? Finally, if you want to make systemwide changes to your font settings, you can do so here by looking to the toolbar on the left side of the Font control panel. For example, to increase or decrease the font size for, say, menus and icons, click Change Font Size. Choose the item you want to change, then select a size. (You also have the option of ticking the Bold box, which is actually kind of a nice tweak for things like title bars.)
View 3 RepliesWhen I change font size from 9 to 12, it is okay until I shut down and restart. It reverts back to default. Is there a fix?
View 1 RepliesIn Win.7 you could modify the font for the windows, both size and font itself. Win 10 will not all me to modify size, which is stuck on 9pt, and there is no option shown to change the font to Times from Arial.
This means I have had to alter the scaling to 125% so that the icons on the taskbar are big enough, and the text on the windows readable. This, in turn, messes up the resolution on Skype and another program. How you can get the ability to change font and font size?
I just installed Build 9879 over Windows 7 on a spare machine and it went as expected except for the size of the Icon fonts and size of the taskbar. They both are much larger than they were on Win 7. I can't remember how to make them smaller. I make the icons themselves smaller (medium) by using View on the desktop but the fonts and taskbar are way to big. How to reduce them under Win 10?
View 6 RepliesThe area in the display settings to change font sizes etc is grayed out and I can not find any way to make my various text sizes bold..
View 1 RepliesWhen the computer comes back after being in sleep mode for a while, all the icons and fonts are in much larger size and with very poor definition. If I shut down the computer and start again, everything comes back normal. This issue only started after the upgrade to Windows 10.

View 2 RepliesI know I can change the appearances of text and icons in Display settings. But in Win 8, I had the option of only affecting text and icons. Not everything, such as apps.
View 3 RepliesI wish to know if there is a way to change the font size/style (bold, etc.) of the icon labels ONLY on the desktop screen.
I've tried the Control Panel method (Appearance & Personalization -> Display) that allows me to change the fonts for 'ICONS'. However, this option also changes the appearance of fonts in the directories/filenames, which is not what I want.
E.g. Labels on the desktop with size 12 and bold. Fonts in folders: size 9 and UNbolded (default style).
how you change the size of the font in windows explorer, I do not wish to increase/decrease the screen's overall DPI.
View 8 RepliesWhen I try to customize my font size display settings (see attached), they revert back to default after a reboot.
I did a fresh install of Win 10, and this was the first thing I checked, just to make sure nothing was interfering with it.
I can easily change the size and font but can't find how to set it as the new Default setting. Can it be done?
Using Mail for Win 10 for first time, as that is what appeared for my Outlook email account. I found today that when using either CC or BCC a 'Return' occurs immediately after entering an email address, thereby moving the cursor to the line below, requiring moving the cursor back to that original line so that another email address can be entered, and again and again.. Never saw this before so probably/hopefully a fix is coming.
While typing an email I touched the Caps Lock key mid-sentence and typed one capital letter in error. I touched that key turning off the caps lock function and the light went off. But from that point on I could only type in CAPS regardless of what I did. I had to close email and restart it to have it return to normal.
Is there any way to freeze the size of the desktop icons and text size once you select them?
View 2 RepliesI've looked and looked and cannot find a way to change default font and size in the mail app. Is there a way or registry hack or what???
View 2 RepliesMuch as I like the new windows 10, I find if I have a few windows open and overlapped then it's far to easy to close the wrong window. And the reason is that the whole washed out white and no window borders mean one window looks like it's another window when overlapped.
What would be great is if I could get a blue (or whatever) border back on the window so that it'a much easier to see which window is which. Is it possible without any third party stuff?
I've connected the Mail app to my Gmail account. It can access my mail without problem but when I try and open an email I get the following message. There is insufficient memory or disk space. Outlook cannot display the requested font. This only happens on the first email selected.
The email is displayed but most of the text is missing. Images are displayed and text which I am guessing does not use default values e.g. different font and possibly style.
