View 3 Repliesre customizing windows desktop themes no options showing
I go to personalization and see the choice of themes but cant see the small pane at the bottom of the screen which gives options for delay between images fit etc etc..
It used to be very easy in Windows 7 to modify and customize existing Themes. We had four functions at the bottom of the Theme selection page to modify "Desktop Background", "Window Color", "Sounds", and "Screen Saver". Well, it seems that some bone head at M$ has decided that we can't have this something that works anymore! Yes, some of the functionality has come forward to W10 although it now seems to be a total kludge to get to it these days. For example, the only way I've found to get to adjust the Screen Saver functionality is to perform a search on it. It does not seem to be on any menu that I can find. As for "Desktop Background" and "Window Color"; I've yet to find this functionality in W10. So why in the world did M$ eliminate this stuff?
And before somebody exclaims that you can modify the background in W10..how you add a photo to a Theme group these days. For extra credit, tell me what menu you can use to access this functionality from.
I have a theme on my desktop PC which obtains its backgrounds from a folder in My Documents. There are about 300 in there. I have no issues with the theme using all the backgrounds available.
Until, that is, I switch on the sync theme option. Then the theme which magically appears on my laptop is the same, but only has about 10 backgrounds which the theme is accessing in a new folder called Desktopbackgrounds. In other words, they don't all sync across.
I go back to my desktop PC and it then has the same issue. Instead of using the folder in My Documents with all my backgrounds in, it is also only using the 10 or so stored in the roaming folder Desktopbackgrounds.
I'd like to sync my theme across my PC and laptop, but if it doesn't let more than 10 backgrounds sync, whats the point!
So, i wanted to change my game of thrones theme since i found a new love for CS: GO. but the lower balk is missing (screenshot of windows 7). I'm not familiar with windows 10 customization yet. How do i edit my theme?
View 3 RepliesIt used to be in Personalization under themes. It permitted you to open the current theme and edit (add or remove pictures) from the theme. The function seems to have been left out in Windows 10, and was available in previous Windows versions.
View 3 RepliesI have 4 High contrast themes that I will never use. therefore I want to delete them. Is that possible ?
View 2 RepliesIs there a way to have Win10 automatically cycle through the themes? I really like the pictures in a good number of the country-specific themes and would like win10 to just cycle through the themes automatically instead of me switching them every few days.
View 3 RepliesWhenever I try to use a custom theme downloaded from the likes of DeviantArt, I get this (i.e. horrible big borders and boxes round the minimize etc buttons, and no element of the theme), it's basically the same as the inbuilt Aero Lite theme:
Rather than what it should be (this for example: [URL]
I've followed the instructions and installed UltraUXPatcher.
I have downloaded several theme packages from the net. I right click on my desktop screen, then on personalize, themes and then theme settings. I get the classic screen for changing themes. I choose a theme package but then cannot choose a background from within that theme. The usual window that has "slide show" under it doesn't come up anywhere. How do I solve this issue?
View 9 RepliesI've notice that the windows 10 doesn't have a lot of different types of themes available for us to customize it to fit our taste. I would really like MS to either give us the option to download different types of themes and wallpapersfrom the web and just download it directly into the theme folder directory. Same goes for all the other different folders that's meant for different customization. Mouse and keyboard icon skin should be download it automatically into the mouse Folder etc this would make it a lot less complicated for even the novice users to be able to customize how they want they're desktop or laptop to look like. I love to customize my desktop the way I want it to look and that just brings unique only to me.
View 3 RepliesOk, I made a couple of themes, no problem with that but I neglected to make one of them a slideshow and can't find where to alter the theme itself.
Start - Control Panel - Personalization only allows me to choose a finished one. I want to edit one and have no clue where to find the saved file.
I have been trying to use custom themes on my laptop for the past 2 months, but none of them work fully, and just end up changing the desktop wallpaper, cursor and some colours on the windows, etc.
example of the theme I'm currently trying (what it's supposed to look like):
What it looks like on my computer
(ignore the start button, it's from classic shell :x)
I've tried lots of tools like UxStyle, UltraUXThemePatcher, programs to replace explorerframe.dll, etc. but none of them work.
I've had this problem even back when I was still using windows 8.1
Win 8.1 theme (what it's supposed to look like):

I was trying to change my slide show of pictures as background theme. Now when I right click on the desktop , then click on personalize , I get a pop up that is different from what I had before. Now the theme selections are no longer displayed for easy selection . In its place is a browse button so I had to browse to where the original themes I downloaded are stored. ie users/name/appdata/local/microsoft/windows/themes .
Is this normal ? I don't recall having to do this after upgraded to win 10.If this is the new norm , then can I move the downloaded Themes folders containing the pictures to another location like "my pictures " so I can easily navigate to them and change the photo selection ?
I have two windows 10 computers on the same network in different rooms. One is in my bedroom, one is in the living room. My roommate's girlfriend has a 10 year old son that comes by sometimes. I like to have my pin up girls on the desktop in my room but I keep generic desktop themes in the computer in the living room since I let other people use that one. I had to reinstall Windows 10 on the computer in the living room, and for some reason, the themes keep syncing and I can't figure out how to keep them separate (the computer also share the same Windows ID, it did it on it's own). So if I have my pin up girl theme in my room, eventually it shows on the computer in the living room. If I use a generic theme in the living room, eventually it shows in the bedroom. How do I keep these desktop themes separate?
View 2 RepliesIn Windows 8.1, the word "color" appeared below the high contrast themes. By clicking on it, I could change the colors of a variety of items on the screen. My Windows 10 does not show the color option. Is this a characteristic of Windows 10, or is something not working in my version? How can I fix it?
View 1 RepliesWhen I printscreen and paste it on Paint it always paste the windows default themes not the one the I paste.
View 8 RepliesWhen I installed Windows 10 I noticed something strange... When I tried to personalize and choose some theme for my laptop I saw that I can't choose for example only one wallpaper from the theme... I can have all of the wallpapers on slide, or just random wallpaper from my computer. I want to be able to choose only one wallpaper from the themes.
View 1 RepliesSomething weird just happened on my system. I was in a game and it was a bit laggy. There was a beep and the screen froze. I exited the game with alt-f4 and my screens turned black except the mouse pointer. I could use my mouse pointer but everything else was moving sluggish so I force rebooted my system. When I did it did a few updates on startup, but there was no history of what the updates were. When I logged in everything looked fine, but my color theme went from burnt orange to hot pink.Should I be worried about someone remoting into my system or was this something like the maintenance starting?
View 1 Repliesthe looks are terrible... they are white, the startup menu is shit to as is the taskbar if there's anything I can do about those I would love to know... I may have to use my windows 7 restore disk to rescue me from this horse shit... I may have actually paid NOT to have this, but Ive spent so much time trying to configure it I figured I might as well try a bit more...
View 2 RepliesCan "Search the web and Windows" be set to search only Windows locally? I've read that this can be done via a policy editor, but I work in Windows 10 Home, and that option isn't directly available.
View 1 RepliesI turned on "Windows Spotlight" in my Lockscreen settings (Personalization) for a while but then wanted to go back to selecting my own background image. I can select an image, but a few hours or a day later the windows spotlight images come back again. The selection in Lockscreen still says "Image", but the image has changed to a lockscreen one. If I again select my image, it only holds for a while, then reverts to a spotlight image.
If I could find the Windows Spotlight service or exe or task I would disable/delete it, but I can't find it.
My Windows sign in setting is "never" yet when my computer is in sleep mode and I come back to use it has a sign in. I sign in and open settings and view the sign in setting and it is still "never". How can the system directly go against a system setting? Is there a correction for a situation where the setting is correct but the behavior of the system is wrong?
