My windows 10 Build 10240
i want change position Toast Notifications Windows from Bottom to Top.
I have a third party wallpaper changer that I like, but when I updated to Win 10 every change comes out as centered, with a boarder. No matter how many times I change it to "fill" next changes to "centered". I have plated with the settings in the program but nothing works. The program is Wallpaper Master. if there is a way to set the fit in windows to default to fit instead of center.
View 2 RepliesWhenever I open a folder and position it on desktop whereI want it to be, after closing and reopening it again, it repositions. With a few opening-closings I realized that every time I open the folder anew, it gets repositioned a bit lower, diagonally. This wasn't happening on Windows 8.1. Is there any way to keep the folder in the same position every time I open it?
View 9 RepliesEvery hour a notification pops up in a small black box "x hour of work, break?" How can I disable this?
View 2 Replieswhen i open "My PC" or any folder in my desktop windows 10 remembers if i resize it, but always randomize the position a bit lower.
View 1 RepliesWhen I'm inside a folder and want to manually rearrange something to a different spot, I can't do this. There's not even an option in the right-click context menu to move it.
View 2 RepliesIn every version of Windows 10 I have used, including the most recent official build (and unlike every previous Windows including XP, Vista, 7, 8, etc...) my window positions on the desktop are not remembered (sticky) each time I close the window. Meaning that each time I open a window I have to either re-position it or adapt to wherever Windows has chosen to place it.
View 9 RepliesAfter an update and at other times I find when I boot up the tiles in the start menu have moved to a different position from where I had set them. I try to keep the tiles for those programmes and folders I use most at the top for easy access.
Is there a way of stopping windows 10 from re-arranging them into a different order?
What I mean is when I use photo viewer (or any program it seems) to view pictures in a folder and I then press left or right to change the displayed picture, it changes it based on the name of the file. I want it to change based on the position of the file in the folder because I like to have my photos organized by creation date. As it is now when I try to use a photo viewer it jumps around the files in the folder and is highly annoying when I'm trying to view them by order of position.
View 2 RepliesEvery time I open File Explorer the window jumps to a new position (possibly a glitch). Is there a way to reset these settings through the registry?
View 1 RepliesI have my desktop picture set to change every hour or so but despite trying various settings it only seems to change every month or two!
I have two monitors driven by a Nvidia Quadro 600. Neither display is changing.
Also, when I first setup the two monitors, the screens aver would alternate the images on the two monitors. i.e. Pjicture A on right then B on left with A still on right, then C on left with B still on right, and so on. Now A appears on right with left blank, then B on left with right blank. Not sure why it changed.
Not a vitally required fix but it would be nice if it behaved as it should!
I just upgrade windows 10 from windows 7 and I'm customizing some default folder to match my settings in my windows 7. I got a little problem and it's really annoying me. Here is the screenshot of my This PC
as you can see, I change the windows default folder for downloads to drive F:. How can I make it to show the drive name instead of drive letter? I used the same steps I do in windows 7 and it was working, but in windows 10, it change the download folder to drive letter.
So I want to make a new font to use on my computer instead of Arial but I can't figure out how to change the default font.
View 1 RepliesUnderstand that default Title Bar in Windows 10 is white, However when I click on themes (which shows various title bar/window borders colors (or Shades) my Title Bar stays completely white.
View 1 RepliesThere's no way, i can't change the taskbar color. No matter if i go to Settings - Colors and change the options, it keeps showing me a white ugly taskbar. i've found in my w10 installation.
View 5 RepliesI was wondering if there was a way to change the look of the window buttons to something like Windows 8.
Here's what that looks like: [URL] ....
I was wondering how you change the language in the start up? Like when the computer is shutting down/turning on, when you wake it up from sleep and enter a PIN, etc.
When I was picking the language in the initial start up, I accidentally chose French because the touchpad was really grippy. I've changed the language back to English for when I'm actually using the computer, but the start up and lock screens are still in French.
I am using Win X Pro. I just noticed that I could not change the desktop background. It says "Some settings are managed by your organisation". I am the only one using this PC and there is no other account. I can change the colours, lock screen and themes.
View 4 RepliesCannot change background image on Windows 10, and not because I don't know how. It simply is not working!
View 9 Repliesis it possible to change the color transparent of tiles windows 10 by one personalized Windows style 8.1 I leave a catch edited by Paint
View 1 RepliesWhen I go to Settings -> Personalisation -> Background and try to change my wallpaper to one of my own pictures nothing happens. When I choose one of the Windows pictures (that one of the guy running along the beach with those big rocks in the background for example) again, nothing happens. The only thing I can do is change it to another solid colour.
Bizarrely, on my wife's account (we're both Administrators) she can change the wallpaper to whatever she wants.
I am not liking the very thin black window borders, when I open a lot of windows it can be hard to tell where one ends and another begins. Is there any way that you can increase the thickness of the window outline?

View 1 RepliesI am using windows 10 and I am trying to change the default fonts of the OS(I think is Segoe UI). I know that has been changed since windows 8, but I was able to change them so far by modifying the keys in "HKEY_CURRENT_USERControl PanelDesktopWindowMetrics" in registry(Segoe UI look terrible on my screen and I prefer Tahoma).
Since the last version of windows 10(10586) something changed regarding the fonts. Now the fonts of the right-click context menu in desktop and file explorer are somehow connected with the the fonts of the new black right-click context menu in taskbar and start menu button and the fonts of the control panel and I think the ribbon in file explorer. I came to that conclusion because when i deleted all the keys regarding Segoe UI in "HKEY_LOCAL_ MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionFonts", all the fonts of the above "fallback" to Arial and when I deleted only Segoe UI regular they fallback to Segoe UI italic.
As a result modifying menufont key in WindowsMetrics doesn't change the fonts in context menus of desktop and of file explorer. Menufont key still has an effect in menus of third party software like my player(MPC-HC) or in some right-click menus of windows like in the volume and network icons in taskbar. The other keys in WindowsMetrics folder(iconfont, statusfont e.t.c.) still working.
Now my question is obvious, is it possible to change the fonts in the other menus? Is there a separate key in registry regarding those fonts or are they hard-coded in some dll? Why oh why they keep changing these things?
As it says, when using the aerolite theme for colored titlebars, it uses black colored fonts which are hard to read, my question is, how can I change these font colors? and also why the hell isin't this an option in the base windows 10 customization section?!?
